I agree absolutely. George Michael's performance here is nothing short of spectacular. I've often thought of all the singers who have stepped in for Freddie with Queen, all amazing singers in their own right, but none come as close as George Michael did in delivering the kind of vocal brilliance that measures up to Freddie.

Could you imagine in the being in the middle of this crowd. You've waited hours for him. He's halfway thru' singing and then nature calls. My top 3 male singers. Mercury, Bowie and Michael all gone. He was also a down to earth guy who despite a bad childhood still kept his humour. A nice guy And he could make fun openly take small parts in "Little Britain", "UK has Talent" czcams.com/video/WKozpAeHu9w/video.html . being in bed with Ricky Gervais, (that was really funny ) czcams.com/video/eTacNBS23Fw/video.html ... in an interview on US TV he laughed about the US Police who tried to trick him into ...you know what. A wonderful moment of music history unfortunately for a sad reason.
George Michael, Elton John, David Bowie, Queen, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Mick Hucknall are a generation of outstanding musicians with so much talent and amazing unique voices, that were able to write so many wonderful songs and to entertain people in very special ways.
I love it and I'm proud to be part of that generation.

Sigh* Truly an incredible performance by George Michael, of an Awesome song by Queen. Sadly both Freddie and George are gone, but never forgotten. Somebody to Love, isn't that what it's all about? Love is such a big word with many meanings. In fact there are 7 words for love in the Greek language.
    1: Eros: romantic, passionate love.
    2: Philia: intimate, authentic friendship.
    3: Ludus: playful, flirtatious love.
    4: Storge: unconditional, familial love.
    5: Philautia: self-love.
    6: Pragma: committed, companionate love.
    7: Agápe: empathetic, universal love.
If more people acted with love in there hearts, truly the world would be a much better place.
Another beautiful, awesome, and insightful reaction, Rebeka. Keep up the great work, and continue to help keep great music alive, one song, one video at a time. ✌❤🙏🎸🎹🎶🎵👍😊

Absoute best rendition of "Somebody To Love" by anyone. George who was an amazing vocalist absolutely stole the show at the Friddie Mercury tribute concert. To make this so much more powerful & heartbreaking was the fact that just 4 months prior, George had found out that his Partner Anselmo, was diagnosed with Aids. George still pulled this off flawlessly! A+++

It’s interesting to note that after The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert; and before George Michael released his “Five Live” album that features two of the songs he performed at the concert, there were rumors that George Michael would’ve stepped in to replace Freddie Mercury. But both Michael as well as Brian May squelched those rumors because both were working on different projects; May especially because he was not only working on his solo album Back to the Light, and working on the tracks Freddie recorded before his death that appeared on the Made In Heaven album.

Freddie's songs will last forever. Each artist sang Queen songs - how they felt inside themselves, how they did it in their own way. Of course, George Michael and Elton John are his best friends, and his death was perceived as the loss of a loved one. They sang as if they had let the pain go through them. But Metallica also took Stone Gold Crazy into their repertoire, because it was closer to them, unaware that Freddie had opened the way for them in this genre in 1974. Megadet is not the ancestor of this genre of det metal, Nor Pantera, but Freddie Mercury. Very interesting performance of the Annie Lenox with David Bowie - Under pressure

Awwwww Rebekah Welcome back!! Boy you’re channel has really grown. Congrats!! And, your hair looks fabulous!! Anyway, I thought George Michael did a great job on what is considered Freddie’s favorite song of Queen’s. I had read somewhere that George was so nervous about doing this song justice that he feared it would end his career!! Welp! I’m pretty sure Freddie was quite pleased. At the same time I tend to weep during this song cuz of John Deacon ... all those years standing next to Freddie & his piano on stage during countless live versions of SOMEBODY TO LOVE!! Awwwww man!! 😫😫👑💗

In Georges Documentary i am almost positive he had found out the just before he took the stage for this performance that he was positive for AIDs and that would explain why he was so emotional in this performance.
