    The dealer quoted $1300 dollars to replace the control unit with an OEM one because it stopped working and was on max heat defrost. With your video and a $150-$200 ebay purchase i was able to do it myself. Thank you!
    For others who stumble across this video with at 2010-2012 Taurus
    OEM Part numbers:
    AG1T-18A802-DB - Heated and Cooled seats
    AG1T-18A802-CB - Heated Seats only
    AG1T-18A802-BB - NO heated or cooled seats with Dual Climate Zones
    AG1T-18A802-AB - NO heated or cooled seats NO Dual Climate Zones
    Also you will need a T9 Torx bit/screwdriver to get the radio/climate control module out of the trim. Some are deep in there so a bit and adapter might be to large to fit in the small holes.

      i’ve got a 2011. have you had any problems with the carplay draining the car battery at all? just heard some things from a friend, wanting to make sure before i buy. also, if you got the model shown in the video, where does the climate controls show up?

    You don’t have to start your car to put it in neutral . Just put your foot on the brake , put the car in accessory position and shift into neutral . I know because I’ve done this before on my 2015 Taurus . I Changed from the small 4 inch sync 1 screen to the 8 inch sync 3 with Apple Car Play. They make it seem much harder than it really is.

    In regard to steering controls:
    in the main radio harness you need to tap the wire in position 18 and connect it to the SWC + wire of your android unit. I did it today on my brother’s 10 Taurus with Sony system. It’s working flawlessly.

    • @NomadGarage
      @NomadGarage  Před 3 lety

      Thank you. The radio I used is a short back meaning almost flat. I believe there is a link for it in the video description. That will definitely work for this application with a Taurus that does not have oem GPS (Single din). If yours have a gps unit then you will have to proceed differently even if you still order the same radio. Also check out the radio review prior to purchasing it might help decide as well. Don't forget to like and subscribe 🙏🏾.

      The video was made on a 2010 as you can see. However the same module which is not listed as compatible with 2013 worked just fine on a F.P.I.S .The radio unit on the taurus are segmented as follows ( don't quote me on the specifics): 2010-2012 Sync 1, then 2013-2015 Sync 2, finally 2016- 2019 Sync 3. I will say worst case scenario you can return the module if it does not fit your 2015. Sorry, hopefully this helps some.

    My friend the single piece unit isn't "dumb" as you say. It's very wise on Ford's part. They save millions by doing it this way and they've been doing it for over 20 years so where have you been. OH also, will all you nukids stop saying "SHOw" It's a S. H. O. ... Super High Output. Ok thx bye.. Tin snips for tha win!

    • @NomadGarage
      @NomadGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      That design is dumb . 1 button goes bad and the whole unit has to be replaced; it is dumb and thus they have been doing that for years to keep maintenance up for their benefit; my take is from a user / owner POV. Ford needs to get with the program. It's about time you do the same as well. Idk which kid you are referring to in your comment but keep it classy in here. Much appreciated
