I bought and sold the 159s about 7 years ago.
Jinhao X750 was bought and sold by me in the UK around the time Goulet pens started selling them.
2022 X159 was a blast. Pen of the year I agree.
2023 is the year of the 9019.

Who needs a piston filler.
I would take bets against Jinhao ever making a piston filler anyway.
The Jinhao 82 and short 82 pens are also all the rage at the moment in October 2023.

A couple of weeks ago I gave my physician a burgundy X159 as a gift. After writing with it for a couple
of weeks, he told me the other day how he loves writing with it. He loves the #8 nib, as so many of us do.
How does one fairly compare a $900-$1,200.00 pen with a $10.98 (Amazon) fountain pen. For the MB
money it better have a beautiful 18K gold nib with all of the possible nib advantages. The X159 gives us a
nice pen, and a lovely writing experience for the money. I agree with you it is a "terrific" writer which does
not require reaching deep in your pockets to write in your journals. Own (6) X159s, and enjoy each one.
That's great to hear! I have one in my shirt pocket as I type this. They've become a real favorite of mine, and just got in an M nib from AliExpress for them (I haven't tried it yet, but all the other Jinhao M nibs I have are terrific).
I also use the long standard cartridge in my X159, way more ink than the converter

Reminds me that the Wingsung 630 competes with a 14k #8 piston fill, wonder how good it is on that price range

do you face any dry start issues with this pen cos i do on mine but great pen otherwise
Hi. I don't have any hard-start issues, but they can happen with any particular pen. My suggestion is to empty the converter of ink (this applies to any new converter), then fill and expunge a number of times from a small cup of water -- to which you've added 3 or 4 drops of dishwashing liquid. Then, do the same with clear water only. That usually gets rid of any residual 'junk' or oils from manufacturing, which can cause ink to adhere to the walls of the converter. If that doesn't work, try another ink with different flow properties.

As much as i love my vintage pens my 12 everyday pens are 4 × x159, 2 x jinhao 75 and 6 x Wing Sung 601 all are lovely pens and easily replaceable should i ever loose one.
Sorry for the late reply. Jinhao and Asvine models seem to always end up in my shirt pocket!
