Dear Sheri, it was during lockdown when I really got to know Queen and Freddie. I was literally grieving when I have learnt about his early death. I read all the books about him, but couldn't stop there. I even wrote a book about his life and the meanings of his songs that was published recently on Amazon. Writing the book helped me a lot to cope with the grieving process. If you'd like to know almost everything about him you can check it out. Yes it is good to go with your heart . It's good to speak from the heart especially when it may very well be the last time in which you can speak to the masses and Freddy was fortunate enough to end his message via Music/Art video recording... visually you can see so very much
at the end of it when he says goodbye with the meaningful words "I still love you" and just that expression...so intense and so many emotions all at once..I even saw a touch of anger in his eyes...I believe that at that point he definitely knew that he didn't have much longer to live and with that he most likely was angry at the thought of not having anymore time than he had left..I believe that we should all live as if it might very well be our last day/night to do what we should, could, want and so on...I hope that I don't have time to dwell on some things or even the knowledge of the time I'm
looking at.. nothing worse when it comes to feelings than the feeling of regret and impending doom/death....I believe that his soul is in a good place wherever that may be.

Every other decade can wait in line. The 80's were where everything was at. Change my mind.
Seriously though, this is one of the few men in history to attain immortality. Many achieved it through some war or making some amazing book that will never be forgotten, like Lord of the Rings. Freddie was on the battlefield that was the stage, and his devotion to his fans and friends. I only wish - like so many of us - that he were still with us; especially in these times.

I can't think of anything bad about Freddie Mercury. In a round about way he had everything, but he truly earned it. I don't think there was anything that Freddie couldn't do. I'm a little envious of Mary Austin whom had the chance to know and be with Freddie in every way possible and to become the bestest of friends after. “Is one of the best singers of all time “?……no, THE best singer of all time! He had the most incredible range, so much power, so commanding and so masterful, he could literally hypnotize a crowd of 100,000 people just using his voice acappella. I never got to know queen until later in life, because being born in the late 60s, in a house with extremely strict, and insanely religious parents…according to them, queen was “the devils music”, so naturally, as soon as I could, I started buying as many of their LPs as I could find, and I fell in love immediately. I don’t often get involved with the celebrity thing, I really don’t care that much about famous people, but Freddie Mercury was a very rare exception to that rule. I was incredibly fortunate enough to meet him in person three times in my life, and each time the guy was the most down to earth, humble, and kind man I have ever met. The first time I met him, I had no idea who he was, he literally bumped into me on the street, as the poor guy was running away from the paparazzi that were relentlessly chasing him down one of our main streets in the downtown core. He knocked me to the ground by mistake, but after helping me back up, I could tell he was genuinely embarrassed and truly sorry for knocking me over. He was incognito, with a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a big winter jacket, because it was in January, so I didn’t even know it was him until I could hear the paparazzi screaming his name, and then harassing me, asking me if I’m going to press charges…huh?. It all happened literally in the span of it about maybe 30 seconds or so, but Freddy and I kind of just looked at each other, smiled, shook hands, and asked me for my phone number and name, saying he wanted to send me something to say sorry. Normally I would never give out personal information, nor accept anything for a simple occurrence, but there was just something so trusting in his demeanour I did as he requested…you don’t say no to the biggest rock star of that time period! Anyways, the next day there’s a knock at my door, he didn’t call, but somehow his people managed to find my address from my name….he had sent me 4 front row tickets to his concert that night. I was in total shock, these things don’t happen to me, they only happen in the movies, but it did happen, and that man had one hell of a great memory, because when he saw my face, he motioned for me to come towards the stage, and asked the security to let me past so he could jump off the stage, give me a hug in person, and apologize once again for knocking me over. That was my first 2 encounters with him, the other time was at his concert in the UK, and both times, even though they were years apart, he actually remembered my face, I was convinced he must’ve been confusing me for someone else, but he immediately said“you’re the guy I knocked over in Toronto aren’t you?“. How many celebrities are that decent and kind hearted? There are some, but not too many. Realistically, they were just incredibly brief casual encounters, I never actually got to know the guy, but you know how when you first meet somebody, you instantly get a particular feeling or vibe from them? With Freddy, I got the most wonderful vibe/sensation, just a really decent human being, as he didn’t let all the fame and fortune go to his head. I wish I would’ve had a chance to know him better, but regardless, I consider myself incredibly lucky to have actually met him on three separate occasions. I did manage to get a picture of the two of us together, and he signed it for me, but unfortunately, someone broke into my home, saw the picture I proudly displayed in my living room, and took it, along with all my jewellery, electronics, essentially all my valuables. I had insurance, so I wasn’t upset about someone stealing those materialistic objects, the only thing that upset me more than anything was losing my prized possession, my picture with Freddy, but by that point, sadly, he had already passed away, and all I had were copies of that photograph, made using a photo copying machine. Over the years I’ve tried to have it re-captured to look as authentic as the original, but unfortunately it’s not possible. I will never forget the times I met him, but worst of all, I’ll never forget the day he passed away, and how vile, cruel, and disgusting the British media/paparazzi‘s were. They were like wolves walking around outside the walls of his beautiful home as he lay dying in bed, desperate to try to get a picture of him, because he has not yet told the world it was HIV/aids, because there was still such a stigma back then. Being a gay man, I could relate to him so much on so many levels. Even though he passed away quite a while ago now, I will never forget that day as long as I live, and I still tear up just thinking about it, because aside from those brief encounters I had with him, his music meant so much to me, it was my crutch as I was desperately coming to terms with my own sexuality, knowing that he was one of the first openly gay and extremely flamboyant at times, Rockstars, he was my idol. Even though he’s gone now in the physical world, he left so much of himself behind, that countless generations will have the joy of discovering the immense incredible talent that was Freddie Mercury. I miss you Freddy, I can only pray that you’re finally happy and at peace, sending you all my love and appreciation for everything you did for millions of people all across the globe…TJ ❤️❤️❤️❤️
