- This week I need to give our friend Phil a set of instructions for looking after the aquarium fishroom whilst we are on holiday. So I thought - why not bring you all along for the ride!?
In this video I'll give you a sneaky peak at lots of new projects, explain the feeding regime for all my fish and shrimp, give an overview of how all of my filtration and automation works in the fishroom, and of course, go through a bunch of emergency procedures in case anything goes wrong.
We'll explore;
⚠️How to look after the aquariums during a power failure.
⚠️How to rectify issues with water quality.
⚠️What to do if the aquarium cracks or leaks.
⚠️How to conduct a rapid water change in a basement.
Over the Christmas and New Year period there will be lots of exciting new videos coming out, so watch this space. I'll catch you guys on the other side of my holiday!

Nice trim Owain, sharp. My advice would be watch out on the 'pinches', everyone has a different idea of what that means and overfeeding is more likely to be an issue than underfeeding. For one week you likely only need two feeds after the feed you do on the day you leave. In the past I've laid out premeasures in tea spoons so you know exactly what they'll get

Hi Richard, thanks for watching. Agree with you entirely about the overfeeding being the more likely issue. When he picked up the keys I gave our friend very thorough instructions and a reminder that missing a day here or there was far better than overfeeding them. So I think they are in safe hands! 🤞🤞

Original Apisto mum sadly passed away I'm afraid. Dad Apisto is currently living life in the retirement home of the quarantine tank just to give all the teenagers a chance to spread their wings in the new Bonsai tree scape. Teenagers are a mix of two males and 3 females with an obvious hierarchy established and settled now. A video about their new tank will be out soon. Dad may join them, or he may end up in another new tank I have planned. Depends on whether he can stop harrassing the females. Aah, the life and times of balancing a fishroom! lol
