- Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh had a HUGE FAMILY TREE and many immediate cousins. In this video I will show you all his first and second cousins on his father's side and the history of his "Greek" Royal Family. We will see who married who, and what happened to each of his cousins. This is a continuation of my videos on Queen Elizabeth's paternal and maternal family trees where I explained all her cousins.
Prince Philip 1921-2021 was the youngest son of Prince Andrew of Greece, (the second youngest child of King George I of Greece and Olga of Russia). So his grandparents were the Greek King and Queen in the mid 1800's to early 1900's. Prince Philip married Princess Elizabeth of England and would become the Duke of Edinburgh and life companion to Queen Elizabeth II.

Since there is so much intermarriage between the royal houses of Europe, there is such a family resemblance between many members of the royals. Thank you for explaining how the Danish royal family became the Greek royal family. I could never quite figure that out prior to your video.

I had to go to my black list of names never to be spoken to find one you didn't do, but here they are, the marquis and marquise de Sade. Would love to know what they looked like, especially her, to stay married to a sadist and assist him in smuggling still banned books out of the Bastille. Perhaps you can do Leopold von Sacher-Masoch next and his Venus in Furs.
What software do you use to create the family trees? I've been looking for something and can't seem to find something decent.

I spent some time digging into Philip's relationship to Tsar Nicholas II. In addition to the information presented here, Philip and Nicholas actually shared a direct paternal ancestor, Frederick I of Denmark, going back many generations.

According to my 23 and me report, we share the same haplo group. I have no idea what that means but I could be 1,000,000 people removed from royalty 😅
We know he's Prince Phillip of Greece and Denmark, and will always be.
His great grandfather and g2 X grandfather is the same person. Then he grooms Liz who is also his double cousin through Victoria and Christian IX. No wonder

To be completely accurate, Queen Elizabeth is related to her husband at least 3 times. We have to also remember that Queen Victoria And Prince Albert were also 1st cousins and 2g grandparents of both of them. So we already have 2 out of 32 that were related to one another. We will add that Christian IX and his wife were also 2nd cousins (double). There we have another pair that are related on both of there family trees. Queen Victoria was 3rd cousin to both Christian IX and his wife. Another group related on the chart. And without doing an ounce more research, Queen Mary of Tek was Queen Victoria’s 1st cousin once removed. This makes her related to Christian IX several times as well. There are so many of their ancestors related that they probably shared 6-12% of DNA in common. It’s actually astounding that they were all born normal.

The eldest and the youngest first cousins are 49 years apart. For second cousins it's 62 years.
UPD: 79 years for third cousins

Hitler wasn't considered the villain we know of today until about 1939... and then after the war, all the world had found out what they had been doing. He was even Time Man of the Year, and was credited with the unbelievable economic recovery of Germany from the 1920's depression/crash, etc.
