Holy shit, this video is great material. I feel like I'm hearing the FMCB and Keolis executives make the same rediscovery of the same shit 20 years later.

I'm sure our family took many rides to/from Gloucester, with this man at the controls. Thanks for your service.
I am only sorry MBCR didn't hire me as a conductor in 2006, but that organization is not the MBTA.
    Instead, I went to college.

My great aunt knew an engineer on the Purple Line and when i was 5-6y/o back in 1987, I got to ride up in the cab and the engineer actually let me use the throttle(guided of course) to take us out of North Station, we were on the Rockport/Ipswich line and heading back to my home at the time in Salem, MA...ah great memories!!!!

Funny to see these officials discover what commuters have had to put up with for years...the annoyingly slow speeds near North Station. Looks like he didn't have much luck expediting that upgrade to 30 MPH.

#Opendoorpolicy is pretty common in the MBTA, but not on the locomotive usually. (Ever seen an MBB on the G&U) I wonder if they got HVAC in the -2 upgrades done to these units.

Sounds like Boston's rail regime is build on half-measures and old rules.
