this is a 10-15 yr old show....... Since the movie about Child Trafficking came out early this year & Hollywood defends the stars guilty of Child Trafficking & Child Abuse, this episode could not be made now in 2023... Disney, NBC & Democrats would call it Trump's fault.
Lincoln never wanted to free enslaved people and even wanted to send freed people to places like Costa Rica. Imagine trying to shill Propaganda as authentic history. Those days are over.😂

whats messed up is nowadays the traffickers call them "indentured servants" its still illegal but it means they got the victims to agree to being trafficked so they can try to claim it was legal (still isnt legal), i worked on a task force years back that dealt with hunting child traffickers from asia, mostly from the Philippines and Indonesia, and i can tell you, there are thousands of children trafficked to the states every year, scariest part of my time on that team, we had some mafia guys drop off 6 Chinese women who were trying to sell them kids
I don’t feel anyone agrees to be trafficked, they just simply get their passports taken like it’s normal to withold it. Then boom, they can’t leave.

Frighteningly there is never a week where I don't here far right people trying to justify America's history of slavery. A lot of people don't realize that slavery still goes on today. This episode was dark, but I'm glad these sort of things exist to shed light on these things.

The only thing that’s changed is that slavery is illegal outside of being used as a punishment for prison inmates (which is still wrong). In any other context, it’s illegal and you will be arrested when police find out.
Such a dark episode, but probably one of Fin's finest moments.
This was one of Finn’s best episodes by far. He was adamant on making sure those people payed for what they did to those children.

Some Law and Order episodes are very difficult to stomach, especially when they take inspiration from recent cases. This case is similar to that of "Adam" a still unidentified child who was found mutilated in the Thames. If you look into the case, it's pretty apparent they have a good idea who was involved but don't have enough evidence
wouldnt be surprised if it was some high society Jeffrey Epstein-type who could pay to have evidence destroyed or tampered with.
The ending made my blood boil.😡 No child should ever go through that kind of horror. The looks on their faces says it all. Those poor kids don't deserve to suffer like that.

The first crime is sort of a red herring to lead to the real meat of the episode, which is about the slavery ring from Nigeria. For anyone wondering if the Voodoo thing meant anything for the first murder, it didn't. In fact, its was mentioned the murder 'couldn't' be a voodoo sacrifice since it happened near a lake, which I guess is a big no-no when it comes to voodoo sacrifices. The boy was bought as a slave and r*ped repeatedly until his owner was done with him and killed him to make it look like a sacrifice.
As for the slavery ring itself, they find the slave traders who show no remorse (not surprisingly) and don't want to play nice. The Nigerian woman the detectives went to for the missing children? She's a consul and she was there when they found the slave ring leader and informs him he will be deported back to Nigeria where he will be executed, which in Nigeria means death by firing squad where she delights in telling him he will be shot in the ankles first, so that the gunman can walk up calmly towards him and take point-blank shots at his vital organs.
Nigeria does a way better job with such freaks than America. Letting them live with free room and board, for their sins, is bullshit. I don't care if gen-pop already gets to use them as toys, they can serve way more use than that.

And the fact that it's still going on now, but nobody wants to talk about this kind of slavery, just the slavery that ended here almost 200 years ago. It's sickening.
@@Nothing-zw3yduh there are a lot of us working in the anti-trafficking space, so I don’t know where you get the idea that no one wants to talk about. And trafficking in the US links very clearly to the effects of chattel slavery; it’s not an either-or. Oppression feeds oppression.
At least they got justice in the end and saved all those kids.
This was an actual case I think In the uk or us. But the boy was kidnapped and brought to the uk and of course his body was found like the one in this video. They had to trace the boy body back and he was from Africa and the mom actually thought they was helping her with her son just to find out they tricked her into getting her son only to be used as a sacrificed.
Supposedly a couple of years ago a man was apparently arrested for assault and the police then found a shipping container on his property with some women chained inside.

When I saw those poor babies chained up and no toilets to use no comfortable beds just treated worse than animals it broke my heart. WHt disgusting people that walk this earth could do something like this. And that rich woman ought to be a shamed of herself those poor babies treated like that breaks my heart.

@@Cure_Hana Not sure, wiki just says the police officers dubbed the boy Adam. Might have simply not wanted to refer to the mutilated body of a child as "that" or "the torso" and give him at least some dignity back.
One thing people not pointing out is the lawyer. If I would had knew my client had a freaking CHILD being used as a servant from another country I would had immediately said nah you’re on your own.
Criminal defense lawyers are almost always employed for these wealthy families and get paid a monthly retainer regardless of if services were rendered or not.
What sadder is how to this happens in real life child trafficking is real and most times they are given away by their parents or guardians in hope that they will come back and take care of their families

As someone who is friends with a lot of Santeria, Vodoun and other African Diaspora religious practitioners, and who has participated in many of these cultures' rituals, I am very glad this show used its voice to stand up against the religious bigotry and ignorance that practitioners of these religions face, every day.
No one in any temple i have been in has ever sacrificed a person, and when they do do animal sacrifice, what is done isnt much different than what any rural person does when they want a chicken dinner. The only difference between what is done in ceremony vs the farm is that we share our chicken dinner with the Gods as honored guests first before eating it.

The only difference in this sort of animal sacrifice is the ceremonial context in which the animals are killed. Otherwise a chicken killed in a sacrifice is eaten , the same way it would be eaten in rural family's dinner. We just invite the Gods to "have their share" first, like one would for any honored guest.

As an American, I am deeply angry and sickened that child slavery is happening in the U.S. This happens everyday and worse. Let's pass laws so severe that child smugglers choose a different cargo than children. Sadly, parents in other countries are happy to sell their kids for $$.
Most of the time, the kids are just stolen. There are places where children can’t go to school because if they’re out of their parents’ sight, they’ll be taken. These are violent acts, not only parents letting their children go because they wish for a better life for them.

This is based on a 2001 case from the UK, about a little boy who detectives named ‘Adam.’ They tested his teeth for isotopes and found the region in an African nation (Benin City, Nigeria,) where he had spent the most of his life before his death. Investigation proved that he was most likely trafficked to the UK and sacrificed in a pagan ritual, before his body was dismembered and his torso dumped in the River Thames. To this day, his murder remains unsolved. A key witness, however has told police that his name is Patrick Erharbor and that she used to look after him when they were both living in Germany, before he was trafficked into the UK. There are, however, doubts about her mental state and if she is really telling the truth. It seems like poor child was not just taken from his family by strangers, but that he was taken through multiple countries, on his way to his ultimate death in the UK. I really hope they find justice for this little boy!

Oh yeah I remeber this one. The slave ring while the big centerpiece was the connection point to the missing child which was bought by a man for stranger danger while wifey was away. Wife was coming home early so man kills boy and fakes a voodoo ritual to cover his track. At the end he dies when a water main floods his holding cell

It's sickening...this just screams racism and even if it doesn't the fact that these are innocent children being killed and even worse being treated like slaves...my grandmother on my mother side of the family is native American but my grandfather on my father's side of the family was Irish...and my grandfather told me how horrible my ancestors were treated when they first came to america so discrimination of any kind is something i can't tolerate

Traffickers going into poverty ridden countries and telling parents they're gonna send their children to good schools at least was (if not still is) a huge problem. A couple years ago i remember my mom telling me about how one organization was busted for taking kids, telling then parents they were going to send them to a good school for a few years and then give them back educated with better opportunities, but were actually selling off the children to unsuspecting couples looking to adopt children. They would take kids at like 3-4, so when they grow up they wouldn't really remember their birth parents. The only reason they were busted was because one of the children remembered, and when they learned English, they kept talking about their true mom and family to their adopted parents, who were then alarmed (bc the organization system told them the child's parents were dead or something like that, i can't quite remember) and they reported the situation to investigators.
This woman is a good actress. She really made me hate her. Don’t hate the actress, ok? She really embodied that rich and racist character! 😅

The reality us that the amount of this that happens in the US is a fraction of the amount that happens in the middle east and eastern side of Africa. It's so common there, they still have open air slave markets.

Not me. I’m a church going man. I would prefer that my faith cooperate fully with law enforcement, and I would prefer law enforcement to respect the rights of all people. The major stigma is that if a religious object is found near or around a crime scene or a religious person commits a crime that the church approves of that crime. That’s an ecological fallacy, assuming that one means all. In that scene, they had no right to assume that the religion approves of the crime. A lot of religions use candles. So are all of them guilty because a crazy person used a candle?
@@elderliddle2733the main assumption was that the candles sold by that temple was used by its members in the murder. What the cops did in that first confrontation was wrong, but not without complete reason. What I’m tired of, is people using genuine problems, as an excuse to do just as bad, if not worse.

"If you have noting to hide you have nothing to fear" doesn't ring as reassuring to those people's civil liberties. Imagine if someone asked him for a list of every single Catholic in Manhattan. That's a horrifying request!
Stabler was very out of pocket for this, and many other instances. He was never my favorite. Shout out to Fin and Munch!

@@katarinadreams6955not this specific case but slave labour is still a big thing in countries around the world. Fast fashion and manual labor jobs use child and adult slaves to make labor cheaper. And just like this people still buy other people here in America. it's sick and horrific.
