Lyrics:
Spread out now Rosie, doctor come cut loose her mama's reins
You know playin' blind man's bluff is a little baby's game
You pick up Little Dynamite, I'll pick up Little Gun
And together we're gonna go out tonight and make that highway run
You don't have to call me lieutenant, Rosie, and I don't want to be your son
The only lover I'm ever gonna need's your soft, sweet, little girl's tongue
And Rosie, you're the one
Dynamite's in the belfry, baby, playin' with the bats
Little Gun's downtown in front of Woolworth's tryin' out his attitude on all the cats
Papa's on the corner, waitin' for the bus
Mama, she's home in the window, waitin' up for us
She'll be there in that chair when they wrestle her upstairs, 'cause you know we ain't gonna come
I ain't here on business, baby, I'm only here for fun
And Rosie, you're the one
Rosalita, jump a little higher
Senorita, come sit by my fire
I just want to be your lover, ain't no liar
Rosalita, you're my stone desire
Jack the Rabbit and Weak Knee Willie, don't you know they're gonna be there
Sloppy Sue and Big Bone Billy, they'll be coming up for air
We're gonna play some pool, skip some school
Act real cool, stay out all night, it's gonna feel alright
So Rosie, come out tonight, little baby, come out tonight
Windows are for cheaters, chimneys for the poor
Closets are for hangers, winners use the door
So use it, Rosie, that's what it's there for
Now, I know your mama, she don't like me, 'cause I play in a rock and roll band
And I know your daddy, he don't dig me, but he never did understand
Your papa lowered the boom, he locked you in your room-- I'm comin' to lend a hand
I'm comin' to liberate you, confiscate you, I want to be your man
Someday we'll look back on this and it will all seem funny
But now you're sad, your mama's mad
And your papa says he knows that I don't have any money
Your papa says he knows that I don't have any money
Oh, your daddy says he knows that I don't have any money
Well, tell him this is his last chance to get his daughter in a fine romance
'Cause a record company, Rosie, just gave me a big advance
And my tires were slashed and I almost crashed, but the Lord had mercy
And my machine, she's a dud, out stuck in the mud somewhere in the swamps of Jersey
Well, hold on tight, stay up all night, 'cause Rosie, I'm comin' on strong
By the time we meet the morning light, I will hold you in my arms
I know a pretty little place in Southern California, down San Diego way
There's a little cafe, where they play guitars all night and all day
You can hear them in the back room strummin'
So hold tight, baby, 'cause don't you know Daddy's comin'
Everybody sing
Rosalita, jump a little higher
Senorita, come sit by my fire
I just want to be your lover, ain't no liar
Oh Baby, you're my stone desire
Hey hey hey hey
Hey hey hey hey
Hey hey hey hey
Hey hey hey hey - Hudba
Every time I feel everything is falling apart, I come back to this show. ❤
For many years Rosalita was the final song of his epic 4 hour concerts. That's because he wrote it to be his last encore song. Now I see why. It's the perfect way to end a great show. Perfect.
Heard Bruce live in '74 before he was a big name nationally but this record was being played constantly in Philly. Moved to California that fall and discovered no one had heard of him. That all changed a few months later when he was on the cover of Time. The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle is still my favorite Springsteen album, mostly for this song.
This might be the greatest piece of concert footage ever !!
I was just thinking the same thing watching this.
it is.
Without a doubt
"I ain't here on business, only here for fun!" THE BOSS!!!!!
Springsteen at his Absolute Prime.. what I wouldn't do to go back in time and kiss a young Springsteen at this concert..
Great shows in these days !
To be able to go back and see this live, I'd kiss him too.
Possibly the greatest live performance of any song ever! And the video quality for 1978 is amazing as well.
For me, I'd like better "cinamatography"... show the whole band..not just Bruce and Clarence 95% of the time. But awesome song and great memories...
#2. Freddie M. But Bruce is the the Man!
True mate! But to me it seams to be film, not video, which gives it a tremendous 70's edgie look.
Affirmative
The Big Man, the band, the joy, the energy, you just can't sit still!!
Hells yes!

Just want you to get back to the car wash and then I I have a little more time for a big o and then I'm just trying and I'm going back to work tomorrow I don't have any plans I'm not sure I okbyexyeskliissbabyloveyou
you're right! I got off my ass, lol
Yes yes yes! Did I say yes?
This performance is so fantastic. Immortal Bruce.

The last scene where the girls charge the stage and kiss Bruce is one of the best scenes of Rock and Roll history. Epic moment.
No need for security or drama! What a fantastic scene !
They were paid lol
@@jamesslinn1603 Jealous, James?
@@allrootssouthmusic5304 hardly i do very good for myself
@@allrootssouthmusic5304 I put 2 and 2 together
A complete celebration of rock music. Of the highest order.
Perhaps the greatest live footage I have ever seen. Rock 'n' roll in all it's youthful, wonderful, innocent glory. This is the footage that changed me from thinking Bruce might be a little overhyped into a devoted fan and I still love and respect him to this day.
How do you not wanna pick up a guitar and take singing lessons after seeing this??? I sure did!!!
I truly feel bad for anyone who did not see the Darkness tour, one the greatest rock tours of all time
My oldest daughter remembers me telling her the "Rosalita" was my favorite Springsteen song. Decades later, we are on the field at Gillette, with only a port-a-potta available. As a Patriots season ticket holder I know the closest facilities in the 100 level. The opening chords brought a wild-eyed young lady out of the women's room, afraid she would make he old man miss his favorite. Arm in arm, we hopped, skipped and jumped our way back to the field seats, 15 rows from the stage. Don't tell her one of the best times of my life!
to be young..to know that you are almost at the zenith of your powers...to have your band of brothers beside you slaying it every night and to have the King of the World as your best friend...to have the passion and the spirit of punk..this is Bruce at his most urgent tightest and most powerful..love it!!!
You said it all ! All of - I feel all of it !
So glad I was able to see him then, never taken that for granted !
I saw bob Dylan on his first electric tour in 1965 and then the rolling stones I saw in june of 1966 and two months later I saw the beatles in 1966 and I must say that bruce is the last of the great rock and rollers. WOW
This is one of, if not the greatest moment in rock history 😂
Nah, the greatest was in 1985. Led zeppelin with dazed and confused
Without doubt.
@@CATDHD bull....!!!
No doubt
One of the most rxhuberanthunrtsnant
In my opinion the best rock n roll band of all time.
I think the same.
@YourFace So is your face...
On that performance alone its hard to argue
Definitely up there with the best of them.
ONE of the best...there have been many
Maximum Rock n Roll....Bruce at his absolute peak. What a stage presence and a performance of unbelievable power....even the girls can't control themselves!!!!
I was 16 when I saw my first Springsteen concert in 1985 (Born in the USA). My friends and I were hooked and I've spent the next 38 in the Springsteen rabbit hole.
Clarence at his best..RIP Big Man...
Saw Bruce from second row and screamed so loud I couldn’t talk for a week. Genius!
always amazing. cracks me up to think those girls attacking him are in their 60s now lol
I was at that concert. row 6. I am 63 now. (still one of the best concerts ever, so much
energy) as I knew the guy that did their sound, he took me backstage after the concert and we partied in the bus for awhile. did not get to meet the Boss though. but everyone else. memorable night
@@dianamoreno9136 great memory no doubt, thanks for sharing :) I got to meet him on a plane. We walked past him and my wife was telling the kids who he is and my son said (loudly) “he’s your boss mommy?” Which made her blush and him laugh. He chatted with us for a minute before we had to go find our seats. Very nice guy
This was the first video by Bruce MTV played, It was a great night at the time. Now things are a little easier to see. Thank God for CZcams
Yeah they played the shit out of it in regular rotation, it was awesome. I have a hunch Bruce cut a deal with then that if they wanted his new stuff---Dancin in the Dark etc--he told them they had to show his history first.
Amen Brother. We now control MTV so to speak.
My all-time favorite Bruce moment when he and Clarence are stalking each other.
The is easily in the top 10 best live performances I've ever seen. And it really demonstrates how lax security was in the 70s.
Think a bit of it was planned!
@@BT-be8rh he definitely encouraged it, you can tell by his face when the girls came running at him
@@vennex_7978 is there proof it was planned...I think encouraged as you say, but certainly not planned. I mean who would fight this lmfao?
Bruce has such a genuine smile 😊
All that female attention helps!❤
No one tells a story through lyrics like the Boss and Billy Joel. Sad this type of Americana is no where to be found these days.
Total.
I'm not a huge Springsteen fan but this performance gives me goose bumps.
Husqvarna
Same here, the energy level here is just unreal and the crowd going absolutely nuts!!
But I am a huge Springsteen fan!
And that's what Rock and Roll is all about Charlie Brown.
Oh, the days! Saw him several times in early-mid 70s at Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin. What a freakin performer!
Grew up with the Beatles, Stones, the old bluesman and never heard of Bruce Springsteen until he shows up on the cover of Time Magazine. That's some serious record company PR.
I have been around since the inception of Rock 'N Roll. This song and this performance embodies everything that is great about our music. Bless you, Bruce and RIP Big Man.
and RIP, Daniel Federici.
Epic performance. Especially when he introduced the whole E street band. Loved how they greeted the audience with bows and smiles.🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂This is y I became a lifelong fan.
The hardest job in the world? Being a cameraman at a Springsteen concert and trying to keep him in your lens. He's here, he's there, he's on the piano, he's in the audience. What a terrific frontman!
All these years later - goosebumps everywhere. God I fucking love this guy!
That guy can fu#&ing rock!! What an incredible band too ...
Big man kills it !
The sax work on this song is AMAZING!
My favorite Bruce song!
That's Rockn Roll Baby 🛷🛷🛷
God bless you, Bruce!!!!!!! What a wonderful performance of "Rosie"!!!!! I wanna live a hundreed years to enjoy listening to the E Street Band in concert!!!!!! Long life, BOSS!!!!!!
Yes
what a fabulous clip!! I'm lucky to have seen the E Street Band 4 times!!
I hear u iv seen them 5xs that I remember Ya bless u all, , Days gone By.
He had those boys DRILLED. James Brown would have been proud.
I don’t know how in the world he remembers all those lyrics. I don’t know if I have the energy to go to one of his concerts never mind perform the way he does. Totally amazing. 🙂
@Bruce Springsteen Thank you. I really enjoy a lot of your music. Just the other day I watched the video of the songs you played with Paul McCartney at Hyde Park. I thought your vocal part in I Saw Her Standing There was TERRIFIC. 👍👍
Go to one of his concerts. You’ll GET the energy!!
he wrote em so he remembers em try a Springsteen show it's unreal played over 6 hours in Dallas and I'm still exhausted.
Listening to Rosalita. Absolutely wonderful. So many amazing songs written by B. Springsteen!
Lol! 4:13. The blues brothers breakdown...same blues riff while roll calling band names. Love it
I've been lucky enough to see Bruce and the E Street Band live many times and they are without doubt the best live performers ever ❤
So much fun watching his younger self performing and he's still got a lot of it. Trust me i know all about bad hips, bad knees and so on and still can't pull off what he's doing in 2023🤟
My old Wall Football teammate and Bruces roadie Jimmy McDuffy pulling the girls off Bruce at the end.. Too funny
I saw him in San Diego in 78 and I only had the born to run album. Someone made a banner that said San Diego Loves Rosalita so I figured there was a girl in the band named Rosalita. Give me a break I was only 15 years old it all made sense when he played this during the encore. I went out the next day and bought the first 2albums. 😂
I must preface this by saying I am a longtime fan - - since 1975, age 12 - - and have deep respect and appreciation for Bruce’s many talents. But, damn! He is hot. I am so envious of Patti Scialfa, I can barely stand myself. Lol
Thanks for this great video. I saw Bruce at Winterland this same tour, December '78. Great memories. Prove it All Night from this tour--Best Live song ever.
Countless concerts later, unmatched until 2016, when my kids and I saw the E Street Band at Circus Maximus, Rome.
Thanks Bruce.
Young and Amazing Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band. Love Always ❤️
The girls jumping on stage in an attempt to get to Bruce... can't get more classic.
Amazing performance. I wish I had a time machine.
That's Rock and Roll...
Don't know what it is but The Born to Run tour will always be the best to me!!!!!
Legend has it that the security guards at this concert were later hired to be police officers at the United States Capitol building
As a retired Security Officer, I can tell that they were having more fun than it was a job especially working a Bruce show. Nice political tie in for no apparent reason btw 😂👍✌
😂😂😂
Very nice!
Once upon a long time ago I was a member of a group summer rental in Belmar NJ. Most of the guys in house earned money during the season bouncing in Belmar and Asbury. I owned a landscaping company and could only hang out on Saturday after work. Even so, I would get word when the Boss was going to show up at the Stone Pony from the security mobsters working the doors. In this case we were sure to get in before the word got out. Standing so close to the band that you could barely , but you could, hear the specific music created by the big man. Wow!
Blonde Rosalita ran on stage for the Boss! Righteous True Glory of the Boss!
Bruce & Street Band Forever ...
You know you're great when you don't have to do anything but be you and no one can take their eyes off you!
Miss this Bruce. Top form….
And my tires were slashed and I almost crashed, but the Lord had mercy
And my machine, she's a dud, out stuck in the mud somewhere in the swamps of Jersey
The Big man Clearance Clemons.
He's having a clearance sale today! Everything must go!
Yes, and also all in the band
Hvala kralju za ovu pesmu, predivna je.
A few months after this show I had my chest against the stage while he performed the same song in Pittsburgh, PA. I'm still trying to recover.
"se que nunca le caí bien a tu madre porque toco en una banda de Rock and Roll..." , Una frase tan simple como sublime.
I LOVE IT!!
Bruce u made my day ,, cheers mate ..
This is brilliant!!!
Springsteen comandando una banda en auténtico estado de gracia... Huracán de fuerza y rock sin conservantes... A años luz de la actualidad... Con actuaciones como esta ya ha ganado la inmortalidad.
Prime Cut Bruce & E Street Band ❤️😂 when the shows tended to last longer and longer 💪🏻
I watch this song every day
I feel so fortunate that I saw this band.. even though it was about 30 years after this...
What can you say, this is the GOAT!
Just gotta appreciate great moments in time.
ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE!
Thank you Big Man thank you we are Blessed
It's just too beautiful~
Back when music was fun
That was awesome!
Wow love this ❤❤❤❤❤
Love you brother!
Band is levitating right here...
❤the best of the history....I love you Bruce eternally
Passionate! Epic 🎸🎵🕺💃🎶
Bruce on Roy's piano is epic....After the hype of Born to Run, he sang tell your dad I ain't no freak I am on the cover of Time and Newsweek,,,
the best Bruce
This is why the boss is the boss
Saw him three times in my lifetime. The first two nights (in a row) was at the Garden back in 2000. He never did "Rosalita", though he came close the second night when he did "Incident On 57th Street". What a tease!
But then....around 2008 at Giants Stadium....HE CLOSED WITH IT!!! I screamed so loud in happiness. My then-girlfriend reacted with "Okay, hey, easy now." Needless to say, I'm with a better girl now! BRUCE RULES!!! 😜
Questa e stata una bellissima performance!!Bruce con la band al completo!!!🙋😅😅😅😍😍😍😍😘😘😘🎸🎸🎸🎷💕💕💕💯💯💯
Saw him the very next night. AZ went Boss wild!!
I Love you Bruce. ❤️
Clarence be up there blowin lord.
Do miss the original edit that they used to play on MTV all the time. Let's get an HD restoration on *that*.
Amor da minha vidaaa!!!
