    • @SimpleAviation55
      @SimpleAviation55 Před rokem +1

      @@RedsBigRig first, find a company near you that has good pay. 2nd, get your CDL. Lots of company's require drivers with more experience, like the company nearby me requires at least 2 years of class a or class b CDL experience. Check the companies website online and apply for a job there. like all resumes, be yourself and do your best. Also, remember that you need a flexible squedule as some guys on my route start at 5:00 to 5:30 in the morning. Also try to have a clean driving record. Good luck!

    That's how a blade should be. Tight to the sides not like a heil with 4 inches of slop on both sides that let's alot of trash behind the blade

    How many dumpsters can you fit in 1 load before heading to the dump? Also how many dumpsters do you do in a day and how long of a shift is it?

    • @grayb8747
      @grayb8747 Před 2 lety +10

      Depends on the size of the dumpster. Some routes pack out in 30 stops and my route I can put 80-90 on and still pack. A typical day is 10-12 hours. Early starts too especially for front load commercial, usually 3am but I myself come in at midnight. Way nicer with less people out on the road.

    Loved the pronounced turbo whistle & engine sound on that truck! Also like the fact that the driver wound the engine RPM up good + high when packing. Seemed to be alot of furniture + "bulk" in that load. 10 tons really doesn't seem too good of a load for that size of a body especially since most "front-load" garbage packers quote body capacity (in cubic yards) say 40 cubic yards, but that includes the hopper too so a driver to get 40 cubic yards of trash on the truck (or close to it), must pack-out the hopper of the truck. I myself drive a 31 cubic yard full-automated side load residential packer truck + I routinely pack 11+ tons of household trash. If I encounter a great deal of bulky trash or it's super cold temperatures outside, say -20 or like 8 above zero, I can still pack mid to high 9 tons on my truck. Most I've packed on her was 14.2 tons on a really wet, rainy day! Superb video!

      @westcoastrefusetrucks  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the audio, which was why I chose to mount the camera where I did. This specific load is mostly dry bulky trash, it’s all volume instead of weight. This truck will get about 12-14 tons on a standard load usually, depending on how much rain there has been. Most of our residential side loaders will pack about 12-13.5 tons of trash on any given day

    • @kriswinger9391
      @kriswinger9391 Před 2 lety +2

      @@westcoastrefusetrucks, I kind of figured that load was mostly bulky trash, lol. Sounds like most packers it does much better with wet trash. I've had 16+ tons on even rear-loader trucks as there's alot more compaction & "destruction" of trash with the rear-load compaction blade! Also with a rear-loader in most cases you can "back-pack" the load in conjunction with the ejection blade!

      @@kriswinger9391 Is "back packing" the contents of the load, whereby, as you gather and pack the trash you slowly move the ejector panel forward (towards the front of your rig), little by little, as you collect and pack trash? I believe that this is what you are referring to.
      I have seen this similar practice done when I would watch rear load packers at work.

    What kind of body type it looks like a Heil front loader does the packer eject the load or does it come with a hoist hitch I really bout that

  • @kris3555
    @kris3555 Před 2 lety +3

    To bad it does not squeeze deeper in to the back
    Just imagine how much more flat the garbage bags and other trash would be if the packer did squeeze deeper in the body of the truck
    I think that you could squeeze about
    7500 to 10.000 kg more in the truck

    • @Dreambig62
      @Dreambig62 Před 2 lety +1

      Some trucks are limited where I am some of the guys would pack the truck so far the rear cylinders for the rear hatch would open that’s a lot of pressure when you’re trying to pack 8tons

    • @westcoastrefusetrucks
      @westcoastrefusetrucks  Před 2 lety +2

      It does go into the body more, but it was filling up so the packer wasn’t going in as far, this load was just over 10 tons

    My front load trainer insists I drive around with the arms down sitting at the bottom of the windshield. Is this safe? Seems like it creates blindspots and makes for some close encounters when turning

    • @westcoastrefusetrucks
      @westcoastrefusetrucks  Před rokem +1

      Typically you would drive with them at the top of your windshield, kind of in front of the cab roof marker lights, that way it eliminates blind spots. I’ve seen it done many different ways before however, that seems to be the most common industry wide
