Would you like any of these to make a comeback?

NGL I like some of these much more than the crap we have going on today.

Most of these rules were designed to protect the sanctity of White Womanhood, allegedly. They were not made with any other racial,, ethnic, or national group in mind.

Call me sexist if you want, but I think most of these rules were pretty good for the most part

I completly agree. I have never been a fan of feminism. I was born one generation too late

Man… even Grunge has dropped off… maybe if society held onto morals, values and ethics we wouldn’t be in such turmoil today.
Peace be upon all who read this.

I didn't realize that meeting the parents on the first date is no longer necessary

People may call this all they want - I followed most of these rules (which was the norm at the time). I married my High School Sweetheart, she stood by my side and faithfully waited for me through three wars (I was born in 1950). Yes, we were "virgins" when we got married - not that we did not "test the grounds before our honeymoon" but our time together was special - she was unique - gave us four wonderful kids - CA took her away after 30 years of marriage. Was it easy? No, but we made it work, we HAD TO - married for better or worse. I was fortunate - each time I came back from a combat tour, my wife and family were there for me. I am/was very lucky that our own children pretty much followed the same path, it worked pretty good for my generation - May God help us all, Ciao, L (Veteran)

If these standards were only in place today...

There’s nothing wrong with standards and/or having respect for yourself and others. It trumps everything that is “dating” today.

A full 20 years before women were even allowed to get a credit card without a male co-sign

I was only 3 in 1960, so I only remember dating in the 60s and onward.

Well the early 1960s and even into mid 1960s was quite similar to the 1950s so you know a few little things i guess.

It was totally different as a teenager in Australia in the 80s. We never had a dating culture. You only went out with the person you were 'going with'. Otherwise you hung out in groups, generally of friends of both sexes. Expecting people to date socially like in the US always seemed kind of weird lol.

I think some of these rules are very cute. I definitely wish I was about 30 years older.

Young girls are poor judges of character thats why the bad guy troupe is so popular. Bad boys in real life become bad men.
