Finding this video is one of the reasons I love the internet. I remember being just awestruck by it, watching it live on New Year's Eve 1999, and it always stuck with me. Can't believe I found it! I've sat here and watched it 5 times in the row, and still get goosebumps watching it. It's perfection in editing, perfection in content. Thank you ESPN, and thank you CZcams!

Shared the same sentiments. To top it all off for me, having just turned 19, from the ghetto, that was the very first time I heard "Dream On." Needless to say I never forgot this moment. And I too was filled with gratitude when I found this for the first time years ago. And, obviously, I come back often.

Just crazy to think about all that HADN'T happened yet.
    - Tom Brady was still in college
    - Neither Miguel Cabrera or Pujols' careers had begun
    - Tiger had only won 2 majors
    - Lemieux and Jordan were still playing. Gretzky had just retired.
Back when ESPN was at its best. No politics. Very little pop culture. Just sports.

Probably the greatest thing ESPN has ever done. The best of the decade 2000's with Coldplay is also up there, but this one is just tough to beat. I feel like their "images of the year" videos have just gone downhill over time. I used to live for videos such as this when I was a kid. Watching this now, the thing that strikes me the most is the amount hockey clips included - so awesome. Wish ESPN still cared about the NHL like they did then.

This was and still is amazing! I remember watching this on NYE in 99 and recording it on my VCR to watch over and over. My only gripes are that Tyson wasn't shown dominating, this needed Montana to Taylor in the SB and Magic's jr. Sky hook against Boston. Take away a couple of those MANY Jordan clips, add the aforementioned and it would have been flawless!
