I've started sewing as a hobby for about a year now. Thank you for your content, it is so good.
I'm also a technician by trade and doubley love your work.
I have the Singer HD 6800C.
I chose it mainly because the user interface is extremely good and intuitive.
Maybe someday I'll even go industrial

Hi, I inherited the Consew 226 from a close friend that passed away. I haven't used it much but I decided to lubricate it and adjust tension and stitch which is ok now. Problem is adjusting stitch length, it binds and hard to adjust it. I set it at 7 which looks good for leather.
    Thanks for the video!

Yes! I have watched any videos I can find on this, and there are some, e.g. The Thoughtful Woodworker, and I have read my manual which describes how to do it, but I still can't get the hang of it.

Praise the Lord, thank you great video.... I need help, i have a Consew 227 cylinder arm. The bobbin and all feeder parts( bar, lift fork, dog ) are all very loose, the hook only picks up the thread on the first rotation then nothing. i have adjusted it as much as i can and tried to get them within specification but i think they are to worn out. no way to tell what the tolerances are! where do you order your parts from? any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a Juki LUH 521 double needle. One of the needles is sewing very well but one of the needles is sewing well the bottom stitch but it is leaving little balls on the top stitch. I have adjusted the top tension and the bobbin tension and I still have the same problem. I removed the hook, put it back and timed it and it work well for a little bit and then started doing the same again. I appreciate some advice. Thank you for your time.

Very informative! I have a Consew 206 rb5 that's in new condition. The machine works beautifully, but I'm not able to get the presser foot off. The screw that you remove from the back seems to be totally seized. It looks new, with no rust, corrosion, or wear. Any suggestions as to how I can get that stubborn bugger out of there?

Hey man, thanks for all of the great videos you put out. I am a hobbyist and do some sewing. I started with some old machines and moved into some newer machines and now I am using industrial sewing machines. I have fixed my own machines and have enjoyed adjusting and repairing them, as I move to different ones. you're a great reference for my lack of knowledge in the repair department.
I came across this video and it is the same as the one I use now, thanks in advance for any repairs I may need down the line. I have seen several posts around the internet on problems with adjusting the stitch regulator so that it is stitching the right number of stitches. it seems like a common issue and I Now find I have that problem. If I set it at five, it stitches seven or eight stitches. Any recommendation on finding a solution for that issue. I have seen two repairs for this problem but they were gear drive and mine is belt driven, the instructions show the adjustment on top of the machine where the gears are but when opening the top of the machine, It's the belt drive. let me know if you have any ideas and please keep doing what you do and keep the videos coming, they are great to watch.

I don't know if you can help but gotta ask. I was given a consew 126r-1 that looks like brand new it shows absolutely no wear but it sat for almost 3 years and the old oil was like tar. Ok my problem it I push the button but can not turn the wheel to change the stitch length. I'm thinking the old oil has it gummed up but no idea. I would appreciate any help

I know this is an older video; I am looking at a pair of CONSEW 225s for sale locally, one being billed as a parts machine. I really want to restore both machines. Are you willing and/or able to be available for consulting? My primary concern is locating parts and access to assembly diagrams to know what parts are missing and the ability to rightly identify parts for ordering replacements.

I have the same machine a consew 226, however my issue is it acts likes it’s not feeding the material, half step forward to a half step back. It doesn’t proceed to the next stitch.

Great video, I bought a pristine 226R years ago on C.L. I’m gotten re-inspired to get back to gaining confidence with my machine. In video you talked about eye-balling timing rather than using manuel specs. What is a better description of what you look for. How much should needle rise before hook tip is at centerline of needle. And should tip of hook be in the middle of needle scarf or perhaps a bit lower or higher ? You also raised up bobbin case assembly shaft. That I assume doesn’t effect timing ? just effects bobbin case retention tab ? I’m glad I discovered your channel and plan to watch them all !

I have a singer 112W-139 which uses the same vertical hook system.
As for your question about raising the bobbin case assembly shaft, I think it will not change the hook timing. Here are my reasons. The hand wheel remains unturned. This constrains the large gear on the lower shaft from turning. As the small gear is mated to the large gear, as long as it is not lifted or lowered after re-tightening the set screws, it will not turn either. The bobbin (hook) shaft is constrained to not rotate by a recess that locates one of the set screws.
As for your first question, there is a beautiful video by Uwe Grosse called 'Consew 225 Hook Timing' that will address all your questions.
I visited Camas, WA a couple of years ago. Very pretty.
