Dude is roughly the same age as myself, grew up 2 towns away from me, played football for JM Monarchs and began his career performing around the West Virginia northern panhandle area at a young age of 12,13 or 14. I distinctly remember around the age of 17 or 18 my mother talking about the kid who was around my age that she saw performing the previous night at a local establishment. She correctly predicted way back then in 1991, 92 or 93 that this kid is going to be famous one day. Never imagined he would get as big as he has become and deservedly so. My buddy also purchased a very nice used Fender Twin Reverb back around in the mid 90s early 2000s maybe and after a couple weeks he started checking out every inch inside and out, wire connections and stuff and noticed Brad's name and address of his parents house he grew up in carved inside the amp.

I traveled to Iceland 2 years ago and fell in love for the country for a ton of reasons but I also realized that they are one of the greatest countries for music. Most people think of "Of Monsters and Men" for Icelandic music but "Kaleo" is a blues rock band that needs more attention. When Brad isn't doing hybrid picking he is flatpicking like a Bluegrass guitar player. I've been flatpicking 50 years and that's where the speed comes from. I routinely play gigs where I take solos at 200 BPM on a dreadnought acoustic guitar with medium gauge strings. Brad has that and Jazz in his background. Watch Tony Rice or Bryan Sutton or Jske Workman currently with Ricky Skaggs.

Brad Paisley has a mostly instrumental album called Play which you might enjoy. There's more of this sort of stuff as well as a mix of tons of different styles.

Hey Michael, I find that slowing down the video helps me a lot for super fast stuff like this. The shortcut to do this on a youtube video is shift + , to slow down the speed by -0.25x each time, first to 0.75x, doing it again takes it down to 0.50x, and so forth. Then to change it back to normal just do shift + . This will take it back up +0.25x each time you hit it like how the other shortcut does the opposite. Or if you want to change the speed in increments of + or -0.05, that can be done in the settings on the video as well. But it is a super easy shortcut. Just SHIFT + , to slow it down, and SHIFT + . Will save you a lot of time and headaches and I use it a ton when I learn complex and fast stuff like this.

I think Brad Paisley might have broken Michael. Do you think we need to reset Michael back to factory specs or will a cold boot do it?

@@Guitargate Thank goodness, I was concerned that we'd have to reset to factory and I wouldn't get any more SRV videos.

This is a modern classic. Reminds me of Elizabeth Reed (Allman Bros). All the moments, everything. And would personally love to see your opinion/reaction.

@Michael thanks for the shout out. I put that one on there right after last Tuesday night! I'm so happy you did it. I love watching #bradpaisley play and think there is so much to learn from him. He is a monster on so many different styles. I love the back and forth between the jazzy sound and the barn burner stuff as well. He may have a g-bender mod as some have said, but I do not think that takes away from his abilities. The studio version is here - czcams.com/video/2cE31qTsovw/video.html
