Friend of mine works on Bruce's crew since 1999. To this day he still says this Barcelona show was the craziest crowd he had seen.

this european leg of 2002 rising tour and the few US shows just before (kansas city, milwaukee) and the very last shows of the 2000 tour (from april 2000) were the very very best
all the song played were easily among their best ever performances
Can we honestly give credit to easily one of the best backing drummers to ever do it. Max is a frickin' machineeee. So perfectly timed and never misses a beat.

I’ve watched clips of Bruce all over CZcams from his live performances…nothing touches this crowd from Barcelona in 2002. Crowd is insane!
You can tell when Max is excited because he lets his normally extremely reserved playing get just a tiny bit flashy and it's wonderful to see.
Imagine being one man confronted by that crowd, and MATCHING their energy...

This is just the greatest live performance of any song ever. The band’s all round energy and tightness. The pure passion and love from Max, Clarence’s coolness personified, the beautiful moment with Bruce and Stevie and those incredible ripping solos. Gives me goosebumps every single time without fail. ❤

We had our lovely rock group called SAU. Their song BOIG PER TU, is an hymn for all the catalan people of always. In the beginning of the song, the people sing like you see with the boss. In catalonia, we love so much Bruce that we share our hymn with him. I recomen you see the song live.

I remember "playing along" to this song and DVD on air guitar as a kid..
Years later I'm still doing it with the same feeling and joy.
The only difference is that I now use a real guitar and I learned how to make it talk over the years ;)

In 1978 (19 y/o) I was listening to the radio when suddenly this song (album version), with all its power, hit my ears .. That's how I discovered Springsteen !!

When people say live aid 1985 queen greatest performance ever.....I laugh like Henry hill in goodfellas and think of this concert
Bubba Booey no compare with Live Aid, different period of time, the two are amazing concerts. For me Freedie is the best vocalist of rock and roll history.
Sorry, but as good as this one is, the circumstances were completely different. Here, Bruce sang to a crowd of his own fans who were of course going to be ecstatic to see him live. That the crowd was this good and the performance reflected the atmosphere is something special to be sure, but Queen didn't play in front of tens of thousands of fans at Wembley in 1985 - let alone the audience watching them on tv at home. Sure, there were Queen fans in the audience and most of them must have known of Queen but to get the audience to react and play along like it was a Queen concert? That was something special, especially because it didn't just happen in London it also happened in Philadelphia at the other Live Aid concert stage. And that's what makes Queen's performance at live aid the greatest performance in history.
