    I'm just trying to figure out how to get down my driveway without getting tripped up by those giant cracks in it

      Bend the knees a lot & really watch where you place your skates. I have the same issue. Also 2 tiny rocks nearly took me out today. lol

    Hey, thanks for making me feel not alone in how my 10 years of inline skating kind of robbed me of feeling a need to wear protective gear. Now that I switched to quad skates I'm in pads every time, because the sense of danger and risk is totally back, with a vengeance! This was a great video. I couldn't find any other that really covered how I like to handle myself going fast on inline skates, from a quad skater perspective.

    You can also scope out the entire hill, on foot, before skating down it to see obstacles, blind spots, etc. Also you don't have to start at the top of the hill. Maybe just do the bottom third or quarter first just to get the feel for the hill. Then work your way up once you get the feel for it and know you can really skate down safely. Great video. Thanks for posting.

    Thanks for the video, Nicole. Nice to see you outside on a beautiful day. I don’t think you need to apologise for not wearing a helmet. We all skate at our own risk and are big enough and ugly enough to make our own decisions :-D I wear a helmet in certain situations and not in others and if I have an accident when not wearing a helmet, it will be entirely my own fault and no one else’s. It is reasonable for me to believe I will always require protective gear, so it is a real delight to see an expert skating so gracefully and joyously without all the padding. Enjoy your skating!

  • @kelaex

    Haha, for me, as a beginner, it's the other way around. I am terrified while on skates, then look at the video and... I can't even see what I was scared of in the first place because the hill was tiny :D and I wish I could skate without safety gear, but this is not gonna happen anytime soon. My knees are too precious :D and if I look stupid, then that's how it is.

    • @ThatNicoleFiore
      @ThatNicoleFiore  Před 4 lety +2

      Haha any hill is scary, no matter the size. That's so good, I'm sure you look safe, not stupid! I'm just glad you're out there doing it!

    • @kelaex
      @kelaex Před 4 lety +3

      @@ThatNicoleFiore I mean... the knee pads kind of are a look. And I feel like I've reached the age where looking good is not quite worth wrecking my joints :D

  • @conniefrancis142

    I can confirm that "speed wobbles" can indeed happen. As tested by my very inexperienced self and a very large hill.

    • @TheBusyfaith
      @TheBusyfaith Před 2 lety

      Trucks need to be tightened before going downhill to prevent that wobble.

  • @isaBPiazza

    As a beginner i see that you do "long circles", but i skate at
    bicycle paths, and there isn't much space to do that.. do you think its a good idea doing this but in small circles once people will apear on the way?? thank you for your amazing videossss

    Hey I love your videos!! What outdoor wheels would you recommend?

    • @sierrajade7875
      @sierrajade7875 Před 4 lety +2

      She actually doesn’t use outdoor wheels, so here’s my recommendation:
      My boyfriend uses the Sure Grip Motion wheels (78a). Any ol’ 78a wheel will get the job done, but the most popular are Moxi Gummy, Radar Energy, and Juice Smoothie. Sure Grip makes a few different models.
      I, personally, use Atom Poison wheels (84a). I like something a little harder.

    Ofcorse i understand that i need to wear helmet, you are proffesional, and im not. I just didnt buy one yet, so i practice around my house very carefully with a help of my BF. I hope i can buy gear soon and i will diffidently feel more confident on skates since then. And i also wearing jeans, it 32 degrees tho :D

    I like the content of this, but I’m giving it a thumbs down because of the Icy Hot commercial attached to the video. I know it goes on icy to dull the pain, and then hot to relax it away, but I think it’s wasteful and bad for the environment to put it in aerosol form.

      ??? She doesn’t control the ads that play, why should she receive negative feedback for it?
