    watching this as a skater from new england is hilarious- "pick up the pebbles so you have a flat surface", we're over here with potholes every few feet, about a truckload of sand from when everything was frozen, it snowed last friday...

    i went outside today after three days indoor practice (=living room 😂) and I was super embarrassed at first but putting my headphones on helped 😉 also I was clever enough to take myself to a what I thought to be a good flat space in normal shoes before wearing the skates and then OMG that was sooo hard in the beginning on the rough surface. That felt like a feet massage😅😅and also the standart kind of ways we have over here are kind of big concrete slabs added one after another so every time a new slab starts you might fall 🙈 also I needed like much more "power" to slide forward (because of the rough surface)- so I could forget all my small "tricks" and "variations" that I practiced before inside on my slidy indoor floor and was only busy for a while to go forward without falling😂😂BUT after 1 hour I felt much more confident and stable I was able to do some other moves and I even skated back home and then I found that big MARBLE surface in front of that statue on the way and wow that was like in HEAVEN 😍 although I had my worst fall down over there because of some other edge between two marble plates 😅 However; in the very end I discovered an open air voleyball court nearby my house to be the best option probably for my future outside practices and the end of a long story: In roller skates you really learn much about your surrounding from a totally new perspective😂😂 and note to myself: practice, practice, practice- with what you have available, right?! 😎😙 Thank you again for all the supercool tutorials and your good vibes💕

      So awesome!! The foot massage is serious! Haha! I am so glad you had a lovely adventure in your skates. You are absolutely right about seeing things from a new perspective! I love that! Thank you for watching, I appreciate you!

    It's a new level of hair length when you can put it in a ponytail haha :D thanks for the tips! I usually skate in an area where people walk past me a lot, which has been weird (because I think everyone's staring), at the same time it is comforting to know that in case I fall and need an ambulance, someone is gonna come by and help me

      I would like to say most mature people are looking and probably thinking..that looks fun..or I wish I could do that. And when you see an overweight woman exercising/walking a moron might say..gee that person needs to walk!! But most people say good for her go girl. It's all in perspective...

    i dont understand how to get moving in a staggered stance. I put my feet in the position and just stand there -- how do you get moving without pushing off?

      You should stretch one leg out behind you and use your toestop. Keep it straight (the leg behind) and the other leg bend.
      You can stop with your knee if you're wearing a kneepad (its good for practicing falling). Its a easy way to stop. Or have your feet in a T-Position. Also i would recomment Indy Jamma Jones. She mainly does outdoor-skating.

    What brands of outdoor wheels do you recommend now?

      Any big, gummy wheel for regular skating. For tricks, Sure Grip Fame wheels!

    I must look like a complete fool and a 13 year old kid. I'm 21 but last time I skated outside a stranger came up to me and told me to do my spins (which are no spins yet) at a different place so that I wont hurt my head. I had pads and stuff. I need to work on my confidence!

    Are tricks (like spining, 3 turns etc...) still possible outside if using soft wheels (78A) ? I don't get as much rotations as you while spinning and I am wondering if it is due to my wheels or just technique in general ?

    • @ThatNicoleFiore
      @ThatNicoleFiore  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes! Definitely not as easy, but you should still be able to make it happen. Just keep working on it!

    • @Clem1619
      @Clem1619 Před 3 lety

      @@ThatNicoleFiore thanks for your quick reply ! I'll probably still invest into harder/hybrid wheels in the future to help. Something small and 85A (or like 88A or is it too much for outside 😅😅 ?)

    don't start on Targets Parking lot surface! I went from the edge of the parking lot to the sidewalk.... bad news bears! Sidewalk was all types of jagged on a busy intersection so couldn't skate on street and wheels loose as hell! I'll give it another go though!
