  • One of the few upgrades to the Apple Watch Series 7 this year was in the charging speed for the watch, so let's put that to the test in the classic Time to Charge test. Apple is claiming the Series 7 is 33% faster than its predecessor the Series 6 which was already a step up from all previous Apple Watches, let's see if this claim is true and what the total charging time is.
    If you have any questions about charging or the watch in general, post a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

      Makes a big difference if you're wearing the watch all day

    It would be nice to see this video with the new USB C fast charging cable for the Apple Watch.

    Hi Jack. I’m not getting anything like these times with my new series 7 (in 45 mins it got to about 38%). I’m using an Apple official 20W usb C adaptor with the usb C magnetic cable provided. Any ideas?

      @JackLeighJCL  Před 2 lety

      Oh dear, sorry to hear that. Have you tried simple things like turning it off and on, trying a different charging brick. It wasn't installing anything like a software update or something was it.

      @@JackLeighJCL thanks for responding. I’ve since charged it a few more times (from new) and it’s now charging far quicker and I’m getting times close to what Apple quote.

      @@Matt-1212 how many times you had to recharge the Watch 7 in order to see a significant difference? At the moment I have the same problem, my watch is very slow to recharge

      I just upgraded from a series 4 to a refurbished series 7 and also have this problem. Watch is pristine with 100% battery health. Had it 10 days now, so 10 cycles through the battery most likely. I’m using Anker folding watch stand/usb-c cable with Anker Nano 3 and Apple 20W chargers to compare. So far they’re all slow 😢

    Hi Jack at my name is Zack I just wanted to know how long I’ll take the charge overnight

    • @JackLeighJCL
      @JackLeighJCL  Před rokem +1

      Same as in the test, although if you have optimised battery turned on then the watch will pause at 80% and then charge to 100% just before you get up

    Hey jack,,Is it heating to the charging time??

      @JackLeighJCL  Před rokem

      Sorry, don’t quite understand the question. Are you asking if it heats up whilst charging?

  • @IrfanChigga

    at what percentage we should charge the watch?

    • @JackLeighJCL
      @JackLeighJCL  Před rokem

      Whatever you like really. I just charge when I shower or if it's running out, but you could charge overnight and make use of the feature which holds the charge at 80% till the morning

  • @blackpinkedits5894
    @blackpinkedits5894 Před rokem +1

    Does charging to 100 percent damage the battery life?

    • @JackLeighJCL
      @JackLeighJCL  Před rokem +1

      If you really wanted to maximise battery health then you wouldn't charge to 100% but that isn't very practical for most. There are features like optimise charging that hold the battery at 80% until the morning then charge to 100% to help alleviate the problem

      @@JackLeighJCL oh nice, and another thing, even if I don’t use my iPad pro for 1 day it doesn’t lose charge, but I don’t even use my Apple Watch it still lose like 10 percent in 8. Hours, is it normal lol?

    • @JackLeighJCL

    • @JackLeighJCL
      @JackLeighJCL  Před rokem +1

      Up to you, I personally just charge when I shower or if the watch is low on power, sometimes reaches 100 other times only 80
