For the last test, I wonder what watches would have survived if flipped around, since the backs probably cracked because the soft backs were pushed against hard and stone, which when flipped, would be pushed against soft(er) rubber, thus testing the integrity of the build and display more than the back

There's a long way to go for the complex and feature packed smart watches to be as durable as a G-Shock.
btw I find their durability on a par with expectations, if not better!
Garmin watches for me have been the best in durability so far

Don’t understand how apple lied per video title???
Random fact: If your going to get sand on your Apple Watch, you can enable the water lock it will keep the watch sand and water resistance (the Apple Watch already is dust proof and water proof depending on the model but you can still turn on water lock to be safer). When your done, the Apple Watch can clean its self/dry itself once you turn off water lock.
That oven test is an extremely dangerous test. If the oven gets too hot then it can cause the batteries inside to explode and catch fire.
Really nice video. I was also extremely surprised that the Pixel Watch essentially came out of this test the best. Sort of brings me some more confidence now knowing that it's not as fragile as it feels.

I work in the cellular industry and tbh I haven’t even sold one pixel watch.
I sell a LOT of Apple Watches. Up to 10 a week.
And Samsung watches are sold a couple times a week.

Awesome test, as a galaxy watch 5 pro owner myself, they are pretty tough. But, it also proves that for toughness, the answer is G-shock😂😂😂

Keys aren’t harder than glass. Do you not know how the Mohs scale works? The metal of a key is softer than the hardness of glass, there for it won’t be able to scratch it. Sand on the other hand IS harder than glass. But not sapphire crystal, so sand will scratch the pixel and Samsung but not the Apple Watch.
Yep, but still my phone's have gotten scratches on their screens over the years, even with their glass screens. So still worth a test!

i guess if you tried facing the apple watch on the oposite side it would survive i guess cause the contact area would have titanium instead of a buble of glass but amazing all of them

hey, you should add a garmin fenix/epix to the test because it's a popular alternative/ a lot of people want to compare to the ultra. That would be amazing
upside to the watch over the other two is that four screws (granted you have the tool) can be un done and the back panel can be replaced you can buy spare panels online last i knew

Expensive afternoon 😬 Samsung just came back to say it costs more to repair the watch than it is to just buy a new one!
I never understand people doing stress tests like this for products not rated or ever advertised as being able to take on such things. I know my iPhone can be submerged in water for a little bit but I never would do it to test it. It’s more of an emergency parachute than anything just like I would never rub my Apple Watch in sand to see if it’s rating of IPX6 is true; since it’s a controlled environment. I don’t blame apple for not covering damage through particulates and water because you shouldn’t be pushing the limits of any of their devices. I wear my headphones to the gym every day (Pro 2’s) but I’m careful about using the shortcut to eject water from them after every 30 minutes of working out and same with my Apple Watch.
The surprise here was how well everything else did against the apple watch!

Did the touch bezel on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro still work after throwing it out the window?
The 5 pro doesn't have a usable bezel, which is weird as the 4 with the bezel did!
But after the window all watches worked perfectly!

Heat test needs to be higher and not in fahrenheit. Need to test it at 90 celsius and see if it can survive a dry sauna session for 20 minutes. I know the regular apple watches can because I see idiots do it all the time but I'm curious how long they last with the seals and the battery.

I really don’t know why you’re surprised that none of them scratched with keys I mean even most normal glasses don’t scratch to most metals.

actually the hottest place on earth is on the western coast of australia. Its reached 63 degrees celcius, which is about 145.4 fahrenheit. Its not talked about alot cause its in small town. The heat usually comes from the mines there. Even if you search it up, it wont pop up. So yea :)
When running over, the watches would not have broken if they were worn on a wrist 😉
