Yoda by him is his original Star Wars parody song, do that one.
Here is all his parodies, with a few originals, and every album had a polka song. If polka is in the title of the song, its a polka song do one of those.
Most of these are parodies, even though some of them don't have the original title, he didn't start naming his songs like that until later in his career.

i read somewhere that Don McLean's daughter liked this song so much she played it all the time. after hearing it so often Don allegedly began to sing this version at one of his concerts and got a few bars into it before realizing his mistake and began over with the correct song.

The original three, technically IV-V-VI. When the original "Star Wars" hit, the story and John Williams soundtrack, every bit as big or bigger than the Harry Potter series or Lord of the Rings because these original 3 created the serial epic blockbuster format. Much more than sequels, but continuations. The original "Star Wars" was a theatre event.

Three months after the fact: Personally I’d say she should start with Starwars Episode IV-VI then Episodes I-III, then VII and VIII. The order they were released is definitely best. I never watched any of the animations or character development movies (Like Solo.) so IDK about them and when to watch😅.
I loved the Running With Scissors concert so much me and my friends went to two of them. There was a song that Al pulls out a pair of boxer shorts out of his pants and throws them into the audience, I actually caught them and still have them over 15 years later. He is the sweetest, and so is the rest of the band. Too he gives one hell of a concert to the point that his voice is gone for a bit after.

I'm a bit late to the party on this video, but I'll throw my two cents in on the order in which you should watch Star Wars. Now, I used to be a purist in thinking it should be episodes 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, but... with everything that has come out in recent years I have changed my mind. I won't get into specifics as to why (due to spoilers for those who haven't seen Star Wars), but the surprises you lose by watching it in that order are not worth all the surprises that are gained by watching it in chronological order.
So... my recommendation is ep.1, 2, Clone Wars animated series and movie, ep. 3, Bad Batch series, Solo, Jedi: Fallen Order game (you don't need to play it, but can find CZcams videos that have all the cutscenes), Jedi: Survivor game (same situation as the other game), Kenobi series, Rebels series, Andor series, Rogue One, Ep. 4, 5, 6, Mandalorian series, Book of Boba Fett series, Ahsoka series, Resistance series, ep. 7, 8, and 9.
If you have any questions as to why exactly I think it would be better this way, let me know. However it's hard to explain without all the spoilers. What I will say is that if you don't know who is alive in ep. 4, 5, and 6, it makes everything that comes before it that much more exciting as you watch. Knowing kinda spoils a lot of the suspense, and the amount of unknowns outweighs the surprises in ep. 4, 5, and 6.
I also didn't include the Force Unleashed games due to them not being canon (even though they were the last project that George Lucas signed off on personally before Disney took over), but they were great games. I also didn't include the Knights of the Old Republic games, or the Old Republic game because I don't feel they are absolutely necessary to understand what is going on during the Skywalker era (though they are great games and their cut scenes can be found here on CZcams as well). Star Wars Visions series also has some great episodes that explain certain events in more detail, but can definitely be watched afterwards due to the episodes not being in any real chronological order.
Hope that helps, and if it doesn't help you, maybe it might help someone else who is looking to get into Star Wars and just happens to watch your video. Either way... Great vid and keep up the good work! ^_^

Agreed, start with the original trilogy, then the prequels, then if you are itching for more Star Wars you can get into spin-offs...The best IMHO would be Rouge One for a movie, Clone Wars (Long) or Mandelorian (Short) for a show, and Knights of the Old Republic 1&2 for video games...

She should watch the Star Wars saga as it was intended, by release order: 4-5-6, then 1-2-3. A New Hope (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), followed by the 3 prequels: The Phantom Menace (1999), Attack of the Clones (2002) and Revenge of the Sith (2005). Ignore those suggestions to watch in different orders, they just spoil the evolution in movie quality and universe expansion. I mean, do you really want to watch a 1983 film after a 2005 film? Or skip forward/backwards 30 years every other movie like suggested with 4-1-2-5-3-6? Or even worse, insert 3 prequel movies after the first two movies, killing the momentum of the original trilogy, like with 4-5-1-2-3-6? Just watch it like we did in the past and LOVED it.

watch the movies in this order: Episode 4 > 5 > 2 > 3 > 6. skip episode 1, apart from how cool Darth Maul is, you aren't missing much and obviously drop 7, 8 and 9 because they are bad. If you watch them in this order, and have never seen Star Wars before, you will get the experience that Luke is the main character in the movies, not Anakin/Darth Vader. I think it is better that way. Anakin Sky Walker is the main character in the story originally, but if you start with episode 4, it's Luke, then you watch 5, which has a very iconic scene: "I am " and then you watch 2 and 3 as sort of a "flashback scene that explains how he came to be Darth Vader" and then you end with episode 6.
I'm telling you, it's the perfect experience. Episode 1 is really boring. Apart from the Darth Maul fight scene with Obi-wan and Qui-Gon.

Go Theatrical release as meant to watch. The prequels will be MUCH BETTER APPRECIATED AND UNDERSTOOD! Start with episode 4 - 6, then 1 - 3. This is the wayWe original fans watched it and even George Lucas says this is how you'll get the Best viewing experience ..the way he set it up. You CAN start with 1 but you m telling you..much of the joy and magic is diminished that way l.

You have to start with A New Hope

  • @jonadabtheunsightly
    @jonadabtheunsightly Před rokem

The only really reasonable starting point for the Star Wars franchise, is the original Star Wars movie, i.e., episode IV, A New Hope. All of the others are written with under assumption that you've already seen that one, because most of the people who haven't seen it, are Amish. (I say this as someone who hardly watches any movies at all. I haven't seen Encanto. I haven't seen Frozen. I haven't seen any of the Godfather movies. I haven't gotten around to The Hobbit movie yet. But I've seen Star Wars. *Everyone* has seen Star Wars.)
The *best* movie in the franchise is Return of the Jedi, but you can't start with it, because you won't have a clue what's going on for the first thirty minutes or so. I can vaguely imagine some horribly misguided person suggesting you watch them in in-universe chronological order, but that would actually be a terrible order to watch them in for a variety of reasons, the easiest of which to explain is, you wouldn't understand the significance of a lot of things when you see them (e.g., when Qui-Gon promises to [spoiler] [spoiler] and then [spoiler], leaving [spoiler] to [spoiler], you wouldn't feel what you're supposed to feel about it, because you wouldn't know the consequences if you haven't seen Return of the Jedi yet).
Also, you don't need to watch every Star Wars thing ever. The first three movies are pretty much mandatory, but beyond that, only watch as many as you want to watch. I've long since given up with keeping up with all of it, there's just too much, and the quality of the writing and acting degrades quite significantly after ROTJ; the only thing that improves is the special effects budget.

there was a long time, this song and Darth Maul were the only good parts of Episode 1, that wasn't true then and definitely not now, i like the movie a whole lot more but this song still smashes
i would love for Mandalorian season 4 to have Weird Al appear, he could be a surviving Jedi who hides out as part of Max Rebo's new band, playing the space accordion, and during the episode he saves Grogu, who may have snuck away or been separated from Mando and while he looks for him, Grogu follows the Force to hidden Jedi Wey Ard Ahl, who passes himself as a musician and a fool and, then saves him...Grogu restores his faith in the Force and secretly sends him to hang out with Kelleran Beq (Ahmed Best) and wait for the Universe to call on them again....only Grogu knows as well

    1. Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace
    2. Star Wars: Episode 2 Attack of the Clones
    3. TV shows
    A. Star Wars Clone Wars (Samuri Jack Style)
    B. Star Wars Clone Wars (all 7 seasons)
    C. The Bad Batch (all seasons)
    D. Solo (film)
    4. Star Wars: Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith
    5. Star Wars Rebels
    6. Star Wars: Episode 4 A New Hope
    7. Star Wars Rogue One
    8. TV Shows
    A. The Mandolorian
    B. Book of Boba Fett
    C. Andor
    9. Star Wars: Episode 7 The Force Awakens
    10. Star Wars Resistance (animated show)
    11. Star Wars Episode 8
    12. Star Wars: Episode 9 Rise of Skywalker
    That should do it

you did this a year ago so it is likely a bit late for this. but if she never seen any star wars the recomended orrder , absolute best is the release order
    4 a new hope
    5 empire strikes back
    6 retrung of the jedi
1, the phantom menace (the movie this song is referring to)
    2. attack of the clones
    3. REvenge of the sith
the seceond best order is epiosde order 1,2,3,4,5,6

Palpatine on piano -- That's the "new guy" in Al's band. Rubén Valtierra, has been with Al since _only_ 1991. The other three core members have been playing With Weird Al since the early eighties
Order of viewing: CHRONOLOGICAL by release date. I have no idea what arguments people use advocate watching by episode number, and don't care because - wait for it --
Every movie after the first (Start Wars 1977, renamed Episode 4: A New Hope) was written assuming the viewer has seen all the previous movies in release order, and watching them in any other order makes less than zero sense.
If you saw a movie that contained flashbacks, would you advocate people skipping around to watch the flashbacks in order before viewing the rest of the movie? Sound like a stupid idea, doesn't it? That's because it is a stupid idea.
Traditionalists consider the first two to be the only ones really worth anything, with Return of the Jedi being a somewhat lame, but necessary, conclusion to the trilogy.
The only reason to sacrifice 2 hours and 16 minutes of your life to see Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, is to you can properly enjoy and appreciate Weird Al's send up.

There is only one Star Wars and that is George Lucas's Star Wars. George Lucas Star Wars is the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and the clone wars seasons 1 through 5. Not sure about seasons 6 and 7 being George Lucas's work. Disney Star Wars is a piece of crap. It was Disney that backstabbed George Lucas and it was Disney that trashed is vision and version of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
