The first agency a model signs with is given the designation as their mother agent, with the ability to place them at different agencies, and get a 10% commission from the other agencies on every job the model books. There are some mother agents who focus entirely on scouting, which is common in smaller cities.

When i was like 1-2 years old my mother was on a walk with my two brothers, my dad, my sister and me. An agent walked up to us and started saying how pretty our family was and wanted to recruit some of us i guess. My mom and dad declined for all of us because they didnt want to give away our childhood. While I respect their decision, I have always wanted to model and ever since hearing that story I have been a bit doubtful for some reason. I guess knowing that I had the chance back then and didnt really have the opportunity to say yes just really upsets me. Anyways, I am 13 now and still have not told anyone about having an interest in modeling. Im not sure how to start or even if this is what I should do but I really want to try it out. Hopefully I will get this opportunity again sometime. I’m really glad I could share this with whoever read it. Thank you!❤
My god, when you said you were upset you "missed out" i thought you'd be in your 30s in a dead-end office job, or something, but you're 13????? Being a model since you were a baby, when you didn't have a choice about it AT ALL, would have definitely give you a very different perspective. You could have ended up hating modeling like most child actors. So starting as a teen, when you have more of an idea of what you want sounds more mentally healthy. I'd say you're at the perfect age to start looking into it.

I totally agree with you, I know I would definitely have a different perspective on it by now if I were to have started out that young and I am glad that my parents let us go our own path instead of forcing us into a program that would probably make me miserable to be honest. I guess I just wish that I was old enough to have made the decision for myself. But like I said before, I am very happy to live comfortably without being forced into adulthood at such a young age. :)

I get randomly asked to be in fashion shows in malls and when I’m out grocery shopping. I constantly am asked if I model as well. I modeled in 3 shows, and did a couple of shoots. Just never took it serious. I’m 6’2, pushing 6’3 and I’m in shape, (I played college football)..I just don’t know how to get myself started 🙃

You're better off signing with a local mother agent than going it on your own. Bentley is an exception and not the rule. A mother agent or modeling industry professional can evaluate you and determine which step is best for you to take next.
Believe it or not, a majority of supermodels have stretchmarks. Naomi Campbell, Josephine Skriver, Jasmine Tookes, Adriana Lima, just to name a few. Almost all women have stretch marks to a degree. We are all human.

Depends on the agency and the brand. Someone’s 125 lbs isn’t gonna get a job for torrid. Someone 300lbs isn’t gonna get a job for some petite brand. Or sometimes it’s down to individual job. If a brand is going a campaign for curvy models and someone 100lbs applies they’re gon get overlooked. Doesn’t mean they’re not a good model they just don’t fit. This goes for your look whether you look sweet or fierce, prim and perfect or relatable, edgy or girly, hair color, unique features etc. ur look only matters job to job never as a whole will u just be rejected as a model unless u really struggle in the talent or professionalism area.

Girl... don't despair... you can even try parts modeling. I have a couple of friends who are 5ft to 5ft2 that are hands and feet models for jewelry and shoes catalogues. And usually petite women have delicate and shapely hands and feet.
Hello! I have a question. I have been very interested in commercial modeling. The thing is, I am not very comfortable in wearing things like bikinis and swimsuits. Are you able to discuss what you are comfortable vs. what you are not comfortable wearing with the agency/company or do models not really have a say in that? You don't pick the market you want to model in, a modeling industry professional evaluates which market your look is best suited for. I'm a former high fashion model who walked the runways for Haute Couture in Paris and I also got my daughter signed with IMG and Ford. You're better off finding a good mother agent rather than trying to get signed on your own because most models are not going to get signed to IMG. And there are lots of great modeling agencies besides just IMG. Most models would do better if they started in a secondary market and work their way up, most will never even work in secondary markets much less top tier markets like Paris and New York.

don’t worry about no jawline!! I’m turning 13 this year and I’m 5’8. If your tall, slim, and know how to walk with high heels (don’t worry about it now your only 13 lol) then you def have a chance!! Don’t give up on your dreams because you don’t have a strong jawline. I’m sure your beautiful in real life:))

There are a few high fashion models who are beneath 5’9 but I think for them to accept you, you’ll have to REALLY blow them away🤧
You can still model for them at 5’3. You just might not be able to do runway modeling🤧

you definitely don't have to do swimsuit modeling if you don't want to! you have complete control over that :)

You don't pick the market you want to model in, a modeling industry professional evaluates which market your look is best suited for. I'm a former high fashion model who walked the runways for Haute Couture in Paris and I also got my daughter signed with IMG and Ford. You're better off finding a good mother agent rather than trying to get signed on your own because most models are not going to get signed to IMG. And there are lots of great modeling agencies besides just IMG. Most models would do better if they started in a secondary market and work their way up, most will never even work in secondary markets much less top tier markets like Paris and New York.

You have a chance at beauty but unfortunately you’re on the short side for other types of modeling

I’ve never had any negative experiences like that so I can’t speak on it! There’s no set salary either it depends on the job :)
Ive been reached out by a modeling company a few years ago, but i wasnt sure if it was legit and asked to have my photos taken down, and im being contacted again being told ive got a 96% auditioning score even withmy photos taken down, and im not sure what i think of it

You could DEFFINETLY! maybe some agencies will mind that you're autistic, but I belive most won't.
don’t worry about no jawline!! I’m turning 13 this year and I’m 5’8. If your tall, slim, and know how to walk with high heels (don’t worry about it now your only 13 lol) then you def have a chance!! Don’t give up on your dreams because you don’t have a strong jawline. I’m sure your beautiful in real life:))

How old are you, as long as your over 165 cm by the time your 16 you should be fine
