Masked Grouper - juvenile (Gracila albimaculata) Solomons at Mbili 2003

Another fish-gem rescued from the 480 dustbin and upscaled to 1080 with Topaz. In 2003 at Mbili Island in the Solomons, Marj and I found this beautiful blue and orange grouper. This is the juvenile Masked Grouper, Gracila albimaculata. For whatever reason, these colorful juveniles are not often observed, and clearly they are very skittish. At the end of this 2-minute video I added a more recent clip of the much differently colored but still very shy adult.
