      I would really love to, and one day I want to meet Aaron! After spending hundreds of hours with him in the pilottraining.ca online ground school he is my pilot role model and hero now. Perhaps , once it becomes safer to travel within Canada once COVID restrictions ease a bit, I'll come visit and do some training.

    Great review! I used to be an instructor there in 2004 and love it!
    Btw, 37/38 years old is not too late to start a flying career, you will be just fine.

      Awesome thank you! Did you start late as well? This was based on other students' reviews, but since I actually started training there recently as you can see from some of my recent videos I'll be able to do a review at some point too. This is an amazing school!

    This kinda content is extremely helpful! It’s great how you are inclusive of international students as well! Could you put up videos of schools in Toronto? Would be helpful to hear from a native!

    • @LateDeparture
      @LateDeparture  Před 3 lety

      Hello Celcia! I'm happy to hear that! At some point in the future I might cover some other schools in other provinces, but at the moment I have started my flight training and I am flying pretty much every day in Vancouver.

  • @Juppie902

    Thank you for this review. I am an international expat and searching for a flight school to go from zero to hero (fatpl) on. I get alot of positive feedback, even texting with one instructor who works there now, and comes from the same country I do.
    I think I will choose Harv's Air for my PPL as a starting point. From all this feedback I think I will get stuck there until I get a first job!
    These videos really help out man , especially for us internationals who just can't keep hopping countries and doing check-ins in every single country.
    One point to mention though: the dorms for students aren't the best, cleanest, etc. they're live-able but nothing fancy. For couples its prob best to rent a flat. (again this is from feedback I got, did not fact check)
    Will have to clarify COVID procedures right now so I don't get stuck anywhere for 2 weeks but overall this seems like a solid school to pick!

    • @LateDeparture
      @LateDeparture  Před 3 lety

      Sounds great! Yeah, I had no idea about the dorms, I only knew that they had them. That being said though, it seems like a really solid school, and you will get some amazing flying weather out there. When you are close to the coast like I am you get a lot of bad weather that you can't fly in, but I've heard from people who trained in the prairies that the weather is better there, so you should be able to get done pretty fast. Also, it's just a really well-known school and I'm currently doing their online ground school and I'm really impressed by it (the pilottraining.ca self-study option). I'm happy to hear that these videos helped you out and I hope things go well for you, keep me up to date on what happens with you.
      To be honest, if I wasn't stuck in BC with an apartment, family, and mortgage, I would have gone to Harv's so fast.

      I think I met someone from there a while back, it's supposed to be a hardcore training environment with some of the roughest weather in Canada. That being said you likely won't get up for much training, but when you do you will be prepared for some pretty crazy stuff. I'll see if I can find that person for an interview.

    Thank for your great content 👍 . Can you please provide information about flight instructor job guaranteed flight school for international students ?

    • @LateDeparture
      @LateDeparture  Před 3 lety +1

      There aren't really any schools that CAN guarantee flight instructor jobs, although some schools definitely try to do that. The reality is if they already have more instructors than they have students, and if they don't have enough planes, most of the instructors won't get enough hours and it will be bad for everyone involved. HOWEVER, recent research reports on the aviation industry show us that Canada has a SEVERE shortage of instructors, and that shortage will continue on into the future. So, if you want to come here to instruct, your opportunities will continue to increase as time goes on, so I wouldn't worry about getting a job as an instructor after you finish your training, especially after COVID is done and the aviation industry grows massively again!

    Hi there,
    I have a quick question. I started at Harv and moved to BC. I am very disappointed to the point that I stop flying.
    Do you have any suggestions where should I go to get almost the same service?
    Thanks

    • @LateDeparture
      @LateDeparture  Před rokem

      That's a good question, unfortunately I'm not in BC now so I can't tell you about schools there, but from my own experience of training in BC then coming to Harv's in Manitoba I can say that I haven't seen any operations even close to Harv's. Perhaps something similar might be Principal Air in Abbotsford? I totally understand why you would stop flying, that happened to me 20 years back!
