    One last question. Are you an international pilot. Also what is dead heading like in Canada and how much does it cost for flight school and do you dead head to Vancouver to catch a flight or something and how much discount do air Canada pilots get. And if you want to fly business class for travel do you still get a discount. That is all my questions thank you.

I'm not international BTW and I don't want to go commercial. I want to have the money for a microjet -3 to 5 passengers. Glass console. Maybe a Cirrus. Would I need commercial for that? Do you know?

    Hello Capt Keith, Thank you for all the useful info across your video. I am planning on applying to flying school with IATPL program in Ontario where stated to have connection with Jazz.
    Would you please comment if the extra money well worth in comparison with college program and self paced program?
    How would you compare Canadian Flight Academy and Brampton Flight Centre? or Should wait for Jazz Approach program to be open again?
    Which training would have a higher chance of getting hire by Canadian Airlines?

    • @keithdmello
      @keithdmello  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Thomas, thank you for the kind words. Brampton flight centre is part of Jazz pathways. I would in priority #1 choose a flight school that has connections with an airline #2 choose one that gets you done quicker, sometimes that could be a college program instead of university #3 choose a program that will hire you as a flight instructor afterwards. Now, if there is a big pilot shortage next year then the first point I mentioned doesn’t matter. Because the airlines will hire everyone. I also don’t think an iatpl is necessary, it’s nice to have, but not needed as I and many others didn’t go that way. Here is a list of the complete Jazz pathways schools flyjazz.ca/en/careers/pilots/pathwaysprogram/

    • @t8lau
      @t8lau Před 2 lety

      @@keithdmello Thank you for your quick responds Capt. Indeed Brampton Flight Centre (BFC) is part of Jazz Pathways program but that limited to their IATPL program only. While College program able to complete few months quicker than IATPL with 30k less. Its a hard choice as I believer IATPL might be more standout to airlines in comparison specially for low hours .
      For those you know, around how many hours they obtained prior to be hired by airlines?
      Do you often seen fresh grad with 250hrs able to score an airline job?
      Understood our industry highly dependence on world economic. I am betting on within 1.5 -2 yrs all the pilots will be re-hired and demand will surge as new airlines starting and different carriers begin taking new aircrafts deliveries.
      If possible would you be able to share some tips on the following or in the future video?
      1. Tips on financing the training
      2. Tips on lowering training cost
      3. Tips on flight training preparation
      4. If doing your flight training again what will be some skills/trainings you would want to pick up to increase your chance at the airlines?
      Thanks a lot!
      Thomas

      @keithdmello  Před 2 lety +1

      @@t8lau again the iatpl makes no difference to airlines. Having an actual atpl or atpl exams written, having more hours, turbine experience, glass cockpit experience, high density airspace experience is what matters.

Because in my country the aviation market is one big monopoly and basically a lot of competition and no demand and i dream to be a pilot.

    • @keithdmello
      @keithdmello  Před 3 lety

      Hi Francisco I hear that a lot that some countries are not suitable to have a pilot career due to various reasons. I think the best countries are the USA and UK as they have a cadet program that enables you to go from one employer to the next without applying again.

    • @keithdmello
      @keithdmello  Před 3 lety

      In Canada, there are only a few companies that have this agreement but they usually only take a few students per year directly to the mainline airlines from flight school. However, it’s getting better but you will have to work as an instructor for a few years before you move to a bigger airplane. It just takes about 5 years longer to fly for the airlines in Canada. All the best!

      @@keithdmello Well thats encouraging! According to some of the students I talked with , Vancouver is not a great place for training. It rains a lot there . Prairies is a good option for good flying days . So if you want good flying days , go to Prairies and if you want good view while flying go to Vancouver.

    • @keithdmello

      That's all relative. The Prairies can be very cold so some international students don't want it. It all depends on your preference there is no good and bad province to fly. Bu there are good and bad flight schools.
