At the beginning of 2023, my wife and I decided to leave America, and move to SE Asia, making Laos our home base.
My name is Javier, and my wife is Fon.

You guys are living the life. Be well.
Thanks for watching! Things are pretty low-key during the rainy season.
Hello again! Nice farm man
Hi Joe! Thanks for that! It’s our small slice of paradise!
I have watched more than several of your videos, and you have earned my subscription. Loving the channel.
Welcome to the channel!
I saw pig blood gourmet
Khao poon (sometimes called Lao Laksa) is a Lao rice vermicelli soup made with pounded chicken, fish, or pork in coconut milk broth and seasoned with common Lao ingredients such as fish sauce, padaek, lime leaves, galangal, garlic, shallots, Lao chillies, and mint. This one also has the pork blood cake.

Thank you P’Tip and Ai Peng (Tarzan)!
Glad you found our channel. We’re enjoying the slow life in Lao. We miss the oysters and good food from the Deckhand in Austin!
I'm not sure if your camera is slightly out of focus or i need stronger glasses. It could definitely be me. I'm 62.
Will check the camera. It may be the wide screen lens.
Thanks for the heads up!
@retire_recharge_roam I usually suspect that the problem is me because my sight is going downhill. I'm not complaining, though. I'm thrilled to have found your channel.
What is the visa process like? I would go to Thailand but you continually have to deal with consulates, bureaucracy, and government arrogance. I love Thailand, but that is a deal breaker. I could do the visa process no more than once a year.
Depending on your home country, long term visa is fairly straightforward. You can get a 1 year stay visa with or without a work permit (LA-B2), in addition to other options. Here’s a link to Chris Barth, who can provide more info on services:

Here are our thoughts on the two countries, for comparison:

@@retire_recharge_roam Thank you very much. I'll look into it. I'm from Texas. You're doing pretty much what I wanna do. I'm thinking pigs, chickens, goats, cows, gardens, fruit trees. It would be nice if I could work out an agricultural venture into an investor visa situation.
Sounds like you’ve got a solid plan.
Chris can help provide plenty of options.
