Ummm… ask any Bassoonist or any Rossini expert and they'll all agree -- G. Rossini never composed a Bassoon concerto and it is unclear who is the real composer of this particular composition is (although, they're probably not anywhere near as notable as Rossini)

Are there any professional female bassoon players? Our high school (yes, I know) only had female bassoon players. I’m just curious as I have only seen males. Our females were very gifted musically, but this was back in the 60’s when females didn’t go on to become professional musicians.

Again, I cannot hear bassoon and am saddened as such. Does anyone else have trouble hearing this particular instrument? I realise it's not "out front" but I can barely hear it at all!

@Dallas Hobbs it can be quiet but I find that it can also be pretty loud if played right, not as loud as saxes or pretty much any brass instrument but definitely louder than clarinets, flutes and oboes. I think the issue is more that you'd be lucky to have more than 2 or 3 bassoons in anything but the biggest of bands just because we're so rare.

the performer is great in a siging quality almost making the instrument speak and giving every note it´s taste but faills to accomplish short notes like stacattos in some parts, overall a great performance though.
