Hey man. Love the video. But i have to ask, since the practice of praying to the saints stemmed from greek hero cults, wouldn't there be a sort of deification done by the one who is praying? Isn't that wrong? I am member of a reformed branch of oriental orthodoxy by the way. so we respect Mary and the other saints but we don't pray to them. 😊

Don’t get me wrong, there could be a correlation between the two ideas, but correlation is not always causation. In the same way, the idea of a “son of God” can be found in both pagan religions and Christianity, but that does not mean that the idea of someone being a “Son of God” in Christianity evolved from paganism.
