I enjoyed your review. I have just bought one and expect delivery at the end of May. Phytonic Blue, Black interior with blue stiching and the Ultimate Package. I can hardly wait to get my hands on it! Before I made my choice I test drove or researched the Macan, Volvo XC60, Mercedes GLC300 and AMG43, Lexus LS350, Audi Q5 and SQ5. The X3M40i brought the biggest smile to my face.
So how have you been liking it?
BMW really did a fantastic job on the X3! So many manufacturers are producing little CUVs more and more. I believe that is what the majority of consumers are looking for. They fit the bill of most folks in the market need. Great video man!
I love my 2019 X.3 M40i 🥰🥰🥰💯 gave up the convertible 4 series for this beauty with zero regrets… Every day is a loving moment with this incredible drive!! End it never gets old... the expression on the men drivers when they see this hot Latin woman whipping their butt’s on the highway 🛣!! 😇😜😎
Recently purchased a 2018 x3 m40i and had a 2016 Porsche Macan S. I have not driven the x3 m40i much as of yet, but I will say.... initially it seems to be noticeably faster without hardly any turbo lag.
Still loved the Porsche, but was a little on the smaller side and the x3 m40i is just about the perfect size for me personally. I am looking forward to driving the BMW more and really see how it performs.
1 and 1/2 years with ours and we both love this car. The m40 I package makes driving in the Colorado mountains a pleasure. We now have put 20000 fun miles of driving on our X3
Rod Lawrence does yours have the adaptive dampers? My 2018 does not and all I’ve seen at dealerships don’t seem to have the adaptive dampers either. I keep hearing they are a game changer and honestly for the $500-$700 up charge seems silly that more aren’t equipped with these from the factory. Going into the winter months we purchased a set of 19 in rims and all weather tires and I must say a world of difference from the 21 in. run flats. I’m just curious how much the dampers really impact the drive since it seems to me that if they are so crucial to the ride comfort, why aren’t more M40i built/shipped with them?

very good review, i think this model needed all these upgrades to the M performance. however i think what would make this model even better is a feature the Macan has which is the adjustable height control since this is not really an off roader, would be nice to have that option. so i might consider this to replace my 1st Gen Acura RDX which i have enjoyed for almost 11 yrs even though it is still a great performer as well as super reliable. but this X3 is definitely impressive. thanks for a great review.
its not the same engine as the m2. 40i has the b58. m2 has the n55.
Sharp review and very true to this car. I bought the 3.0i M sport w 20” tires and I’m really happy with it. However in the city I’m only getting 16mpg which is unfortunate for the smaller engine.
i get 30 mpg in eco mode on highway driving 68 mph

Excellent review. As far as suvs go this one is tough to beat. FYI its a dead pedal not a kick plate.
2 things to be aware of, if you order this car with the ventilated seats option, do not expect any seat bolstering. Those seats suck on this m themed bmer! Also, if you get the towing package, you will lose the foot motion tailgate opening feature.
I have a 2021 in the same color combo but with piano black interior trim. Love the power delivery and overall driving experience.

Really nice review. Very comprehensive, almost like you are there at a dealer. Coming from a 2016 x3, I was about ready to move on to something else, like the Audi, MB, or even a Mazda. Then I saw the m40i and fell back in love with BMW. I will be ordering one in the next couple of weeks.

Excellent review! BMW as stepped up in every way. This is going to make next SUV purchase difficult. Was trying to decide between the GLC 43 and the SQ5.
Wasn’t keen on driving a BMW, this could and may change my mind.
Really like this suv.
The iDrive with touchscreen and super easy-to-use navigation was a key reason I bought the M40i over the GLC or SQ5. Finally, one of the top 3 German manufacturers has a simple to use navigation system! I took delivery 3 days ago and the new car has been awesome.

Wait, why dont you have the M steering wheel? The wheel u got is the normal one which u get with car without m sport package. Weird.

How’s the car holding up??
Best car I’ve ever owned. BMW did SO MUCH here. It’s worth every penny. I drove everything in the class. Nothing offers ALL the x3m40i does. It is th best well-rounded choice in the segment. It’s also the fastest to 60, stops around 150ft, while literal click of the button either turns this thing WILD or into a luxury suv. I couldn’t be happier. No problems. Already have 20k on it. Still same rubber, too. This is a sleeper (even tho m performance line, it puts up numbers and feels like it driving that go up against much stronger alternative in Hp/tq, i think this is MUCH CLOSER TO ITS FATHER THE X3M, it’s just tooooo far away from the normal x3) and I think it might be amongst BMWs best vehicle on sale now. Nothing checks as many boxes as this car. Bmws are expensive. This is expensive. BUT, is worth it all, is a SOLID VEHICLE INVESTMENT that literally performs near M level, while providing BMW luxury just the same.
I own one and I love it!

Good review. It would have been good to show more details in the driving modes. Just one note: the vents on the side of the car are not functional vents but only for design.

Polar Bear if you are going x3m40i - the x3 is better and incredible. Best car I have owned to date. And I’ve had many. If you are doing the 3 m40i, then I would say it’s a matter of preference however the 3 has all the new updated tech, dash, design elements and so forth. That said, I really can’t express enough just how good the x3m40i. It is the absolute best in the segment. It gives you just so much behind the wheel, on top of giving you lux cruising. You must get the adaptive m suspension, I consider that an ultimate option that compliments these vehicles so much more.
@@michaelmesolellaesq I must say Michael, you have given me plenty of room for thought. I have to admit, I am leaning towards the x3 and you're right, the m40i is the way to go.

Disappointed. Was really expecting to hear how you felt about your feet, in the back, under the driver's seat. There was no mention on how it felt. In terms of rear feetroom, was it a confined feeling or an improvement from the previous X3 models? The rest of the review was impressive in relation with how you had the right balance of covering the general features awhile not delving too deep into details, just enough to cover what was really important and necessary to know to travel safely.
Too bad BMW still doesn't offer Android Auto..
Forrest's Auto Reviews No, and not only that but they charge $300 for Apple Carplay in 2018 when even cars down market are offering BOTH Apple Carplay and Android Auto as standard. That definitely is frustrating.. My M40i will arrive soon, in a few more days hopefully. Not having Android Auto wasn't a deal breaker but it's definitely something BMW needs to sort out. Soon.
Yeah I was told they might have a software upgrade for it down the line if you have the Apple carplay, supposedly something that the legal bean counters couldn't agree to during negotiations on the software, bmw didn't want to give them total software access or something

Forrest's Auto Reviews I’m sorry but it’s yourself that is wrong. Bmw has moved away from the n55 for a couple years now, the new modular series is the ‘B’ range, so B38 is theire 1.5L 3cyl petrol engine, B48, 2L 4cyl petrol engine (really good engine used in the jcw mini) and finally the engine that is in this car the B58, a 3L 6cyl twin power turbo. Unfortunately your commenter was correct, this does not share much with the m2, however the B58 and B series have INCREDIBLE tune-ability, the B48 in the mini jcw makes 230hp stock, after a remap, can safely make 300hp. Likewise with the B58, a remap or even a plug and play tune will got you over 400hp, likewise with the torque. Amazing engine! The b58 is where it’s at. Great review bro, new subscriber
