I HATE the word MADONNA OF THE TOWNSHIP.
Brenda IS TOO TALENTED, than Madonna.
Being referred to as Madonna is NOT A COMPLEMENT.
It is the demotion of her talents.
Just because she was born on the "wrongside" of the world doesn't mean she's less talented than people who were born in America. They only have the advantage of American exposure.
Hi! She was referred to as the Madonna of the townships because black people had never seen a star quite like her. Unapologetic, talented, and hungry to be heard. The same with Madonna. She came before MaBrr and we had never seen a woman quite like Madonna (at the time). A woman that managed to gain attention of the masses through her music, despite their disapproval of how she lived her life and ideologies.
That’s one of the MANY reasons that separates Brenda from the masses. A true icon in the music world who not only had one of the greatest voices ever, but was unapologetically HER.
With that being said, I still respect your sentiments. Just sharing mine as well. Thank you for watching!
