When you put the new collars on your goats Jason put some GPS trackers on them so when you can't find them you can look at the app on your phone. You have the right idea plan your area first before you start. Have you considered a tiered deck of existing one? God Bless from your Canadian Friend.
Time for a gate! As for your outdoor kitchen. Do a step down from your grain bin deck, have your kitchen on that. Then you can also put in a concrete patio at the base. That way you have three levels for you and your company. Enjoy the nice weather and the animals. Have a great weekend guys.
You could add a room on each side of the grain bin, one side could be a large kitchen with a large kind of dining room over flowing partially into the bin and the other side could be another room for whatever. Build three bedrooms upstairs. I saw a picture of a grain bind with two sides added that looked really neat.

We were going to put one in a deck and was told by the contractor he would have the recalculate the amount of concrete and supports needed to hold the weight of the water and it would increase the amount needed by at least a third.
Build your add on deck around your hot tub so you can step down into it instead of climbing up and down. Also gives you a place to set down your drink without needing tables.

For the chickens to free range..if you fed them a little feed in their luxury coop every night..would that bring them home and safe overnight? Can't wait to see the next project.

My neighbor has solar deck lights on each post and strung overhead solar lights. They light up the area with a nice ambiance every night. Theirs are partly shaded by trees 50/50
Install a oversize or patio door on the grain bin, pass through window from the litchen to counter outside. Holds sink, refrigerator, on shared kitchen wall. Build outdoor kitchen and deck to cover it and work on the 2nd story bin build. The bin becomes storage and workshop area.
I went camping off the coast of California once --it was such a sweet spot....it was farm land that butt up to the coast, but to get to the beach we had to essentially rappel down a major cliff. Getting down was sketchy, somehow getting back up the cliff was a bunch easier. Just to paint the full picture, we were trespassing. Anyway, we camped down on the beach cove, brought some delish foods to cook, & I remember thinking how amazing it would be to own that farmland with this sweet beach~cove~cliff spot. I had it all planned out in my mind. Homesteading *really* close to the beach is a dream scenario! The closest we ever got was --before the whole world went crazy, we were trying to see if we could afford a duplex here at the Jersey shore & let the summer renters in the other part of the duplex, pay for most of the expenses. And have a really big garden. We couldn't make the finances work for it then & now those properties are SOOOO much more money, it ain't ever gonna happen! I have hopes of a nice chunk of land & then yearly taking a nice beach vacay in late Sept ---when it's still all warm but no more summer crazies. Gotta have a dream to work toward, right?! I think you said it but didn’t realize it. Turn the grain bin into your Bar / Grill / hang out area. You could still extend the deck and make an outdoor kitchen. Make all that together and then you don’t have to make a second floor and you don’t when to finish it all out. Your barndo can have the living / studio / guest rooms / shop. You can just use the grain bin for your recreation / hang out / cool place.
Wish you put a gazebo roof over the grain bin for decorative and added protection..also could be a gazebo patio area that accentuated it with rock wall from home to it .then storm cellar a neccary
