Who is Marvel's Stryfe? More Powerful, Evil Clone of Cable.

- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Marvel Comics character "Stryfe." From his beginnings as a clone of Nathan Summers made in the future of Earth-4035 by the mutant Mother Askani, being taken and raised by the ancient mutant named Apocalypse, having longer and more intense training than Cable and Nate Grey on how to use his mutant powers, having more powerful and refined psionic abilities than Cable due to never being exposed to the techno-organic virus, feeling resentment towards his perceived parents Cyclops and Jean Grey as well as Apocalypse, becoming the fierce arch-enemy of Cable throughout the years, clashing with most all future factions including The Askani, Clan Chosen, and the New Canaanites, many battles with the X-Force and X-Men, teaming up with the mutant Bishop when he was misguided, developing the infamous Legacy Virus, to even recent adventures with Deadpool; Let's take a look at this Marvel supervillain, and powerful cloned nemesis of Cable and mutants everywhere. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic books and science fiction characters.

I remember getting a Stryfe action figure as a kid. First thing I did was take the face mask off and both me and my cousin were like “well shit, he looks like Cable!” We didn’t know he was Cable’s clone but my cousin loved this, he was a hardcore Cable fan!

Just one shotted him using Phoenix while replaying x-men legends 2, what a great game.
Would love to him as the main villain in a future X-Men movie or in Deadpool 3.

Steven Louis actually no. The reason Stryfe is more powerful is because the techno organic disease thing stops cable from reaching his max potential.
@@dakotatrue12 you do realize that with more training (with/in anything by the way) comes new broken ceilings...right? If he wouldn't have taken off when he did to time travel as a hero, and worked at further honing his skills since he's a handicap he would've either become stronger to the point where it took no effort to keep the boys at bay, become strong enough to reverse it, or pick the right mind with the cure.
You don't go from mopping floors to manager same way you don't go from (let's say) a Saiyan to a Super Saiyan without time and training.
We could both exit school at 16 but if you put more effort into time and training you'll test out with a diploma where asi just left because I thought I was smart enough, and became a dropout who later takes the time and effort to earn a ged.
Cable is the high school drop out in this scenario. He feared the virus based on what he knew and became enslaved to it for years rather than seeing it as a handicap and working around/thru it from jump; he "knew enough" and took off only to become cured later when he could've potentially become strong enough to cure himself or even reverse it.
X Man is a clone of him prior to the Legacy virus and Nate Grey was so raw they had to introduce the Franklin Richards' and other new characters so he wouldn't be alone, never forget that 👌🏾

@@dakotatrue12 Stryfe is LITERALLY Cable if Cable trained more...without fear of dying from AIDS. He set out to time travel to "fix" the future because he "knew" there was no cure, and wanted to get as much done as possible before succumbing.

Possibly one of my all time favorite marvel villians and one of the best for The MCU as a xmen villian as you can just have Josh Brolin play double dute as both Cable and Stryfe. I would love to see it!
I hate it when powerful characters are ridiculously defeated by lesser characters. Magneto also defeated Apocalypse, that is bull****.

What if Stryfe had been host to The Phoenix instead of Jean Grey, I'd love to read a comic saga about this if there isn't one already. Strife would be damn near unstoppable. BTW, I've always assumed that the unknown alloy of his armor is mainly adamantium, at least that is what I'd like it to be made of (~_^)

Here is my dude. Power on par with X-Man and he is a homicidal sociopathic with psychotic tendencies. He and his personal teleporter Zero were my dynamic duo. My only issue with the character, THAT HELMET! I mean seriously. X-cutioner's Song was probably the 2nd best story arc (to me) that centered around him and his tantrum.

Honestly, without most of his powers, he's really not a big deal. He's gullible, a hothead, average intelligence, and kind of scrawny compared to Cable or Stryfe. Though at the end of the day, I imagine he's just happy not to live in a vast planetary wasteland interspersed with concentration camps anymore.
There's plenty they could do with the character, just current marvel has different priorities.

Great video, I really enjoyed it (I just subscribed). I remember Strife toys, and comics as a kid, he was one of my 2nd favorite Marvel Villain (my 1st being Magneto). I would love to see Marvel find a way to bring him to the big screen, because he can and WILL cause A LOT of chaos (And his armor ALWAYS looked amazing.... Stryfe is awesome but I believe his face Apocalypse three, the first time Apocalypse was weak do to being wakened early and Stryfe stabbing him with that crazy Apocalypse sword. Which was odd cause that Apocalypse was I think from a future where he used that same sword to kill Cable with? Or was it the past with the whole time travel craziness? The second time the faced was during the Messiah War where he thanks to Bishop found him in his sleep chamber thingy and thought he killed him while he slept, the third was at the end of the Messiah War and Apocalypse beat his ass. So in a straight fight Apocalypse is way to much for Stryfe to handle alone.

Even if Magneto's helmet protected his mind, I'd always thought that a telekinetic can directly counter Magneto's abilities since he works on the magnetic properties of metal while a telekinetic works directly on the physical properties of everything. Like how a telekinetic can make objects ignore gravity or move despite it, I'd think a telekinetic can make metal move no matter what magnetic forces act on it. Maybe in the end it's a matter of how strong the control is. For Magneto to win he'd have to have greater control over metal than a telekinetic's control over anything.
Good point. 👍 I just keep in mind that Magneto is, basically, an Omega-level mutant. He has a RIDICULOUS amount of magnetic power! 😲 Potentially, planet-shifting type of stuff! 💪😎
From your description here, Stryfe's no slouch either considering he can keep Jean's power in check and Comics Explained ranks him Omega level as well. I understand why they'd have to balance it though. I mean to be consistent a telekinetic could just as easily crush magneto's body as magneto can crush metal but there's no fun in a comic with just that lol

I give stryfe a 2, his team (which you didn't even mention) the Mutant Liberation Front gets a big 10 from me, Thumbelina, Tempo, Dragoness, Strobe, Reaper, Wildside, all so much more interesting than this clone powerhouse with 1000 different abilities.
