- This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Marvel Comics character "Cable." From Nathan Christopher Summers being the son of Cyclops and a Jean Grey clone named Madelyne Pryor that was made by Mister Sinister, his birth as an intended weapon against the mutant supervillain Apocalypse, years struggling with a deadly techno-organic virus which made him into a cyborg, being cloned by his half-sister named Mother Askani and raised in the future of Earth-4935, perfecting vast psionic and psychic superpowers nearly as powerful as mutants like Professor X and Phoenix Jean Grey, having physical abilities that allow him to engage "speedsters" and exhibit an approximation of a "healing factor," multiple fierce battles with his clone Stryfe, playing an essential role in the superhero teams X-Force, New Mutants, and Six Pack, to saving the first post "M-Day" mutant baby and raising her as his daughter with the name Hope Summers; Let's take a look at this future Marvel superhero, and powerful son of Cyclops / Scott Summers. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic books and science fiction characters.

Cable is my favorite Marvel character. New Mutants, X-Force, X-Men, Deadpool, the Bishop story arc, Hope Saga, and badass baddies he fights. Stryfe and Mr. Sinister are some of the best drawn villans of all time

One of my all time favorite characters because he don't play.
I go pretty far back with Cable..In the 90’s he was probably my fav character..But following his story off and on since the mid 2000’s.I really don’t like him being THIS powerful..It is what it is but to me Cable is at his best as a bad ass future soldier.With some mind powers.Its just too much to have him as smart as Reed Richards and as powerful as Prof X..IMO anyhow.

This description of Cable makes him seem unbeatable. I liked him before but now I really like him. But they did him no justice in Deadpool. Deadpool wouldn't stand a chance against Cable.

Cable is what happens when you make Nick Fury a mutant with telepathy and telekinesis.
Personality wise, and demeanor, they are the same man.
And I say this as a huge fan of Cable going over thirty years.
That being said, Cable was a repurposed character.
Rob Liefeld never intended for Cable to be Scott Summers's and Jean Grey's clone's son.
That happened after Liefeld left Marvel Comics to help form Image Comics in the early 1990's.
Some have theorized that Cable was meant to be the son of Nathaniel Richards, the father of Reed Richards, better known as Mr. Fantastic, leader of the Fantastic Four.
That definitely makes sense if you look at Franklin Richards being a mutant himself.
The possibility in the original draft that Cable was meant to be Mr. Fantastic's half-brother, and uncle to Franklin Richards and Valeria Richards sort of tracks. Especially, if you look at how Nathaniel Richards was dressed in the early 1990's as ruler of the War World dimension with his Queen. A Queen who gave birth to his son.
Cable end up killing the evil clone Stryfe in a storyline.....but before Cable killed Stryfe, Cable told Stryfe that he never give up fighting....and that sent Stryfe mad

Cable may have one other power his father ability to work I imagine he has total control over that too.
Living Tribunal didn’t need to interfere and if he did, he would’ve one shot her so bad that literally much weaker beings could’ve matched her as well as other characters being more powerful than her. There’s a number of them that scale to her and higher without even reaching living tribunal.
