- Here's the feature card, decided by the fan votes! Paul McBeth, Eagle McMahon, Ken Climo, and Seppo Paju clash with one of the toughest courses on the planet in the opening round of the Disc Golf World Tour Finals at the United States Disc Golf Championship.

I think it's hilarious to see Eagle and Ken playing together now. Ken was winning world titles literally when Eagle was born.
I am disappointed that this is the only coverage for the USDGC.
In 2021 this commentary always has, and still sounds fine to me. You’ve got a champion talking here, folks. It is a bookend to an era having Climo and Avery on this, with Paul and Eagle coming in.
Also, rip DGWT. I liked it better than the pro tour when it came out due to the better graphics and presentation. Today, I have a greater appreciation for the Pro Tour while it is flourishing and is pressuring the PDGA to grow/modernize/professionalize the sport.
This has to be one of the best cards ever filmed in terms of sheer talent.
why is there american flag next to the seppo's picture ?
It started as a Swedish flag...it changed about half way through. Still doesn't make sense. Maybe he moved mid-round?

Eh. I'm alright with Eagle, but Avery is so rigid and just calls a play-by-play. No real background or insight. Gets a bit dry.

I have so much respect for Eagle. If I was a pro disc golf player at an event like this, I'm not sure if I'd want to take the time to do commentary for CZcams videos. I think it's super cool that he can be so focused and play well during the round, yet still have time to share with us fans.
His maturity belies his age, for sure.

Avery, calm down! :p this isn't soccer, you don't need to be yelling the whole time, or even narrarating every single thing. Just give your comments. That's why you are the commentator, not the narrator. ;) but eagle did a great job on this, I feel!!

Good call on adding the bullseye for statistical purposes. Makes the putting percentages much truer.
I like it as well, it's similar to the "Parked" stat on DGPT, so it allows people to follow the pros across both tours with similar stats.
Coverage was solid, but. I really miss the live coverage. Fly in Terry for Saturday!

I love the coverage and appreciate it. What happened to viewers just being thankful that there are people out there that put hard work into bringing us this coverage? If you don't like what they are doing, get out there and do it bigger and better since you have all the answers apparently. Thank you for the coverage

But I want to (once again!) raise the issue about the constant use of feet instead of metres. ALL measurements and specifications in Disc Golf are in metres. It's a 10 metre circle. Why call it "33 feet" when it's sitting on the edge of the 10 metre circle? o_O
I mean seriously - you have to start using the proper systems of measurement SOME TIME - so why not make it NOW?
You could start by adding metres to the hole descriptions, so that instead of only one country's residents knowing what 397 feet actually is, *everyone* would know.
I mean, you are aware, right - that the vast majority of the world's population has absolutely no idea what measurements in feet equate to???? Whenever I see some long hole which is, say, 545 feet - I have to go to google and type in "545ft in m" and get my result - which is 166 metres.
545 feet means diddly squat - and failing to add the proper distances in metres is akin to saying "Fuck You" to the rest of the world.
Yes, I understand this IS the *US* DGC, but COME ON - you have an international audience!

I never felt like they were saying "fuck you" when they used meters but not feet. I see your posts on literally every video and they're mostly more annoying than constructive
So if you use meters most of the US audience will have to look it up. So this is all about you. Get a life!

Hey Spin TV, thanks for the great coverage. Constructive criticism; would be nice to have distances in metres in addition to the units of the imperial system (feet). The popularity of disc golf is growing in the world and especially in Europe, and pretty much every country excluding US uses the metric system.

The SpinTV, any coverage of the distance competition?
Avery did some Facebook Live during the competition phase and the showcase (DGWT facebook), and I believe some of the competitors posted videos to social media as well.
Unfortunately all hands are tied as soon as the footage comes in with post-production so we can't (yet) cover it in full. I do hope one day to be able to do that.

Idk for how much time it takes and no live coverage and we can't get 4k quality? Call me ungrateful but much smaller events have had much better production than this
4k workflow is too intense to output quickly unfortunately. File sizes/bitrate are massive. It's my personal opinion as well that 4k is highly overrated, especially when put through CZcams compression.
Ahhhh I suppose for a quick release it wouldn't be practical, we gotta get you in on some commentaries tho Jamie, I prefer your commentary to Avery's

Average commentary at best by Avery. I understand that he's the "expert analyst" but his commentary is nothing more than play-by-play. It would be nice to hear more insight on the shot shapes, disc selection, technique, etc. from a top level player. I get that the guests kind of do that, but the so-so commentary makes these videos with Avery commentating hard to watch.

Luckily Eagle gave us some of that insight, but yeah on a course that is this open telling us what we're watching gets old.
At the pace this is cut there are no time to do that. I don't mind a bit longer cuts, discgolf isn't the fastest of sports anyway :) #iwantmysmashboxxtv
Sexton needs a freaking Espy for best DG commentary. His work with Spin and CCDG has always been phenomenal! Avery is obviously an expert, but he is quite dry and matter-of-fact.
Chris Finn is paying tons on money for add space, should use that money to get that price point of his clothes down.

He almost was in the circle. I watched a ton of players drive this hole today, and no one got even close to where Eagle did. He was probably 200 feet farther up the fairway than the next guy.

I think the audio engineer mixed him a little loud. If his mic wasn't quite as hot it would be fine. He sounds like he's yelling but if he had had the Jomez crew mixing him he'd sound fine

Why is the commentator shouting the whole time?
Good coverage. It is just not fun to have essentially Paul's sponsored network (Innova's player, Innova's channel) doing the commentary. It felt like AJ was babying Paul's round so far talking about the wind, weather etc. every time Paul had a bad throw. To be clear, on his worst day Paul could beat the snot out of me on my best day. But it's just not fun to hear his sponsored commentators cushioning his performance when he is having an off day. I am with @Disc_Golf_Nerd that there needs to be more proliferated coverage of the DGWT events. Competition breeds quality and I'm sorry but this is not the only card I want to watch!

Well, it wouldn't be apropriate to kick Paul while he's down. I remind y'all that he has upped so many players' games. He works hard and puts in the time and effort in practice. We all love an underdog, but that shouldn't mean we enjoy watching the mighty fall just for the lulz.

The other commentator ( not eagle) must be the best disc golfer god has ever created. The way he comments. Lol. .. back in the day we would just hyzer it on the beach. To think this is the product Jussi chose for promoting the sport. Avery?!? Really?? The US Open should have live coverage. It makes me hope the DGWT fails as The Pro Tour takes off.
that's pretty sad to wish for someone to fail just because you disagree with one decision. words have power and you should consider yours more carefully. I work with both Jussi and Steve and I hope they both succeed, for the good of the game.

Avery is awesome, he's an excellent teacher! I'mnsure he just needs a bit more experience, but he definitely talks more than most commentators. I didn't even notice until others mentioned, and it's not an issuem. I'm thankful that people like A.J. spend their time doing this =)
Why is Seppo not wearing a collared shirt? I thought this was a mandatory for major PDGA sanctioned tournaments.
Aside from that, those tube socks have to go! This is the biggest event in disc golf and the sport needs to provide the best image possible to potential sponsors.
Collared or dri-fit shirts. i.e. Averys Dri-fits from the past few years.
