The yogi cultivates flexibility - in both body and mind - to discover creative solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems and face whatever “mood” we have upon waking up with compassion and grace. I use this 20 minute morning sequence to cultivate resilience and flexibility, using my mat time to try on different perspectives and consciously connect with different levels of awareness. I’ve found that morning is the BEST time to practice yoga. If you can cultivate this habit, it will CHANGE YOU. Practicing in the morning allows you to center yourself before the “malware” of habitual thinking and pre-engrained thought patterns kick in. 90% of our thoughts are the SAME each day and NEGATIVE. That’s why practicing gratitude and positive thinking takes effort. Your brain literally gets stuck in a rut!! The good news? Yoga is a fantastic tool for getting your body into new shapes, and your brain open to new ideas.
