Spurs need shooting badly. Should be interesting a lot of different options draft wise. Me personally I’ve had my eyes on Topic for last couple years now and he feels so different and is very skilled. I also love Sarr and his defensive potential with Wemby and Sochan
Defensively the Spurs could really enjoy a Sarr/Wemby duo. Right now Wemby is forced to play Center, but if you can get another mobile defender next to him he can go out in the perimeter and do damage in steals and length and overall deterrence
But do you really want Wemby to do that? Of course he is good on the perimeter too for a big guy, but it's defending the paint where he really shines. He already scares the shit out of anyone attacking the basket.
I think if you have another guy that can block you don't need Wemby always there. You can use him to scare people farther from the basket for even trying and allow him to be a help side defender more often, which is usually where blockers excel. I also think it will release Wemby from rebounding duty and let him move faster to offense where he can create easy mismatches to get the ball quickly and score. Also they can flip, Wemby can play center 25 minutes, and Sarr can play center 25 minutes. With Wemby playing 10 minutes at PF. That will help them always have rim protection on the floor, which they lack dramatically when Wemby is out the game@@lesscrement1448
As a rockets I hope it doesn’t happen but I think they should go all in for Trae Young. Trae would fit Pop system to a T he one of the best passers in the game and he can set up Wemby to make things easier for him on offense. There two man game would be elite. The Hawks granted are going to want a lot. Trae a top 30 player in this league. The Hawks are going to want a lot of picks and Sochan back in that deal. But that’s the price you got to make in order to get a player of Trae caliber Granted they probably not going to do that right away if they do that it probably want happen until maybe 2026 or something like that. They probably want to see what this group is around Wemby first
Spurs need a SF that can deadly from three more than they need a PG. They want Risecher from the draft, and hopefully Reed Shepered. Those are the two guys who can elevate their offense in the next few years next to their current core
Get a dynamic point guard who can get him the ball and surround him with a combination of shooters, high iq players, and at least serviceable defenders. He might be one of the easiest players to build a team around that's ever been in the league.
I think Sheppard knows how to see the court. They need players who see the court like Wemby. They have enough that they're trying to teach to see a group of teammates and not just themselves
Nikola Topic if Spurs want more offense due to assists and drives to the basket. Alexandre Sarr if Spurs want more defense and big man to have twin towers. Zaccharie Risacher if Spurs want more of everything. Would be nice if Spurs could get 2 of the 3 by trading up with future draft picks but Risacher and Sarr are probably a better pick even though Topic is more a position of need. Just depends on where Spurs land in the draft and who is available. First choice for me would be Risacher, then Sarr, then Topic but would be happy if Spurs get any of those 3.
Get Trae Young, a top tier playmaker and deep threat. They are a match made in heaven! The highlights that team would have. Load up on 3 and D guys and a back up big. Boom! You have a variation of the Thunder.
The more I think of Trae and Wemby I don’t know if I like it that much. Trae loves to pound the ball untill he passes and doesn’t move without the ball I like Wemby with on ball creation and that will be limited with trae
You would need a defender which you have in Sochan, so all he needs a high quality Point Guard after that let them cook. And I mean a point guard who has Facilitating as a primary skill set and Scoring second
Still gonna need a primary wing defender, Sochans gonna be great defensively as a super versatile guy but you don’t want him guarding the best guards in the league for long stretches. So need an upgrade on Champagnie and a point guard like you said
Without seeing the video yet the way I want to build around wemby is first and foremost *Go big. Point 6'5 minimum twin towers in the front court. Victor likes to do pull-ups and play off the screen as the ball handler and already has a great vision for pocket passes. * A strong PF rebounder. I know Victor doesn't want to get big and I have seen this hinder his rebounding by being pushed out the paint by box outs and depending on his height. * A CP3 or bronny James type point guard defensive athletic intelligent pass first archetype. I prefer more of a lethal slashing pull-up mid-range point guard than an elite 3 point shooter to spam pick and rolls who can hit very precise passes like LeBron James does full court to AD. We already know Victor is a Lob Threat and potentially a pick and pop threat and adding an elite mid-range Slasher at the point would be tough to pick and choose * then obviously two incredibly lethal shooters at the wings
@@Svid18 Bronny James is close to 6’5 known for his defense, athleticism, pass first mentality who would be entering into the league in the near future after a couple years in college and would make a legit role player or more depending on his collegiate development. So yes bronny james type
1. Pass first PG with at least decent perimeter defense. Trae is amazing, but he's not exactly a great defender. If he's the best they can get, they should go for him. But trading for him means handing out at least 3 future firsts. This could seriously backfire. Alternative: Go for a solid vet, similar to what Minnesota did with Conley. 2. A strong forward that can shoot the ball and facilitate if needed. Basically something like Aaron Gordon. But these players are RARE. Rui maybe? But I doubt the Lakers would want to trade him. Collins always comes up in these discussions, but he's not that great. 3. Build through the next 2 drafts. They will be better next season, but they still should be able to get a decent pick. The 2025 draft is projected to be strong. Overall, there's no rush. Wemby is 20. 2-3 more years of solid rebuilding is the way to go. Please no mediocre "win maybe" moves, because that's what franchises like the Pistons and the Wizards do. And you don't wanna be be like those.
You have some great points there mate but trae is a horrible nba defender at this point of his career, whether he improves to at least league average or not has yet to be seen. Cheers buddy! 😁
I don’t think big trade is coming, that’s not spurs, at least that’s not the spurs as we know it. Look at Denver, OKC. Homegrown is THE WAY at least for small market is it. Plus, I don’t know if you guys noticed, big trades rarely meet expectations if teams don’t mortgage their whole future.
The Spurs pretty much wrote the book that Denver and OKC copied. They've got their generational talent and they've got the established culture and reputation. Guys who get drafted there are going to play and develop better than they would on most other teams.
Who are the top free agents in the next 2-3 years? I’d just simply draft and wait till someone is available instead of trading all those assets right away
Top free agents never want to go to places like San Antonio unless they're older and think they've got a chance to win a ring there. That's the whole reason they have to draft so well and build great culture: because they can never attract top free agents like NYC or Cali can.
First the coach needs to tell everyone other than wemby that they are not the first option so pass the fucking ball and play like a team should..If they are not ready to listen bench them or trade them

You need to surround him with elite role players that fit his play style before looking for a 2nd and 3rd option…. Hell he’s so special he might not need a 2nd option, with this trash team in his rookie year you EXPECT him to erase a 10 point lead on almost any team. He’s the best paint defender in the league already imo, I think the best thing they can do is surrounded him with the best perimeter players they can find on both sides of the ball, wemby can straight up own the paint on both ends of the floor against everyone, Giannas embid and jokic included. When this man gets 40-50 pounds on his frame over the next few years, he’s literally gonna be the paint god, give him shooters and perimeter defenders and he’s gonna walk to a lot of chips…. as a Celtics fan it’s hard to watch this, first we had to wait for bron to get old, now there’s this big soda drinking god from Serbia in Denver and a legit alien in San Antonio, everyone better get ready for the next decade of chips to be decided in the WCF 🥲
Pop ain't gonna draft a complete dud that'd he'd have to give actual minutes to just to get his dad to play for a year or two. Goes against everything the team has stood for.

Defense at NBA lvl
Rob is definitely regarded higher than sheppard
Spurs need shooting badly. Should be interesting a lot of different options draft wise. Me personally I’ve had my eyes on Topic for last couple years now and he feels so different and is very skilled. I also love Sarr and his defensive potential with Wemby and Sochan
By not rushing it with a subpar All Star like Trae Young
f tier bait
You're right Trae's not an all star. He's an injury replacement All Star. That's worse@@adamsmith9080
That's what I was saying . Trae young isn't that good and wouldn't improve this team . Ir would be stupid .
Yep 😁
Don't think Young and Pop would last a third of a season together before some giant blow-up happened lol
Bruce Brown is such a Spurs player
Defensively the Spurs could really enjoy a Sarr/Wemby duo. Right now Wemby is forced to play Center, but if you can get another mobile defender next to him he can go out in the perimeter and do damage in steals and length and overall deterrence
But do you really want Wemby to do that? Of course he is good on the perimeter too for a big guy, but it's defending the paint where he really shines. He already scares the shit out of anyone attacking the basket.
hes been thriving at center since switching from PF
If they have a 1st overall pick again it could be possible
Alex Sarr is not a perimeter player, he’ll only stunt wemby’s growth
Go Spurs Go!
But that’s the price you got to make in order to get a player of Trae caliber
Granted they probably not going to do that right away if they do that it probably want happen until maybe 2026 or something like that.
Wemby with 4 dereck whites/Bruce Browns is lethal.
What yall think about them trading for a tyus jones?
amazing
Let’s start with a pg that wants to get him the ball, lots of cheaper pg would be such a benefit
Watching Spurs Denver today its like Spurs players are playing who can not pass to Wemby the most
Can Keldon Johnson and draft compensation land Anfernee Simons?
1.) Get two 28+ veterans with respect in the league.
2.) Get the best pass first point guard possible.
3.) Dynasty begins 2027
Dynasty begins next season if they’re serious about this. Wemby is that good. Wemby Vassell and Trae is a team above the playin
@@cole8957ur trippin
Thats why none of you are GM of any nba team lol 🤣🤣🤣
Very tall walls building around him, probably use some bricks id assume
Get Trae Young, a top tier playmaker and deep threat. They are a match made in heaven! The highlights that team would have. Load up on 3 and D guys and a back up big. Boom! You have a variation of the Thunder.
A point guard willing to pass and a few 3&D guys
The more I think of Trae and Wemby I don’t know if I like it that much. Trae loves to pound the ball untill he passes and doesn’t move without the ball I like Wemby with on ball creation and that will be limited with trae
Imo I thing top players can change their game : was heavily impressed with harden these few years. Not the same ijs
i think mikel bridges would be a great fit around wendy and spurs
Time for Chris Paul to finally get his ring
They should draft reed shepherd good shooter and facilitator
It’s simple. When Luka wants out of Dallas they trade many picks for him, pay some solid defensive wings, and sign ring chasing vets to minimums
They need to get Josh Giddy
I just cant get over how wemby is already going bald frfr which just means he is destined to be an all time great
You would need a defender which you have in Sochan, so all he needs a high quality Point Guard after that let them cook. And I mean a point guard who has Facilitating as a primary skill set and Scoring second
Still gonna need a primary wing defender, Sochans gonna be great defensively as a super versatile guy but you don’t want him guarding the best guards in the league for long stretches. So need an upgrade on Champagnie and a point guard like you said
Sochan is mid he's not a primary defender
@@samn90834facts unless he become crazy elite I wouldn’t even
imagine wemby and tyrese together
Without seeing the video yet the way I want to build around wemby is first and foremost
*Go big.
We already know Victor is a Lob Threat and potentially a pick and pop threat and adding an elite mid-range Slasher at the point would be tough to pick and choose
* then obviously two incredibly lethal shooters at the wings
@@Svid18 Bronny James is close to 6’5 known for his defense, athleticism, pass first mentality who would be entering into the league in the near future after a couple years in college and would make a legit role player or more depending on his collegiate development. So yes bronny james type
Cade Cunningham would’ve literally been the perfect guard to put next to Wemby but unfortunately my pistons didn’t get the first pick.
Get one of the Amen brothers
Only the heat and thunder can hold a candle to SA’s ability to turn nothing into something. They’ll find pieces
Hoop intellect SO to him
Trae would be an awful fit for SA. He'd get tons of assist, his you know he and Pop are going to have problems.
Get him trae young and you got a duo to build with for years to come
I don’t think big trade is coming, that’s not spurs, at least that’s not the spurs as we know it.
Nikola Topic is not the spurs answer, in all honesty the future guard for the spurs will not come from this draft unfortunately
Get a cp3 for one year and a young pg for cp3 to develop the pg
Who are the top free agents in the next 2-3 years? I’d just simply draft and wait till someone is available instead of trading all those assets right away
Top free agents never want to go to places like San Antonio unless they're older and think they've got a chance to win a ring there. That's the whole reason they have to draft so well and build great culture: because they can never attract top free agents like NYC or Cali can.
There are 3 big names that would go to San Antonio to get a ring and play for Pop a couple of years:
Lebron
KD
Giannis
First the coach needs to tell everyone other than wemby that they are not the first option so pass the fucking ball and play like a team should..If they are not ready to listen bench them or trade them
Pass the ball.
that is literally it
Throw a max at Maxey and then build around that duo
76ers aren’t giving up maxey and spurs already have Devin vassell
Good pg to start. If lonzo was healthy he’d be perfect. And a good versatile wing sg/sf that can create his own shot.
Without seeing the video yet the way I want to build around wemby is first and foremost
*Go big. Point 6'5 minimum twin towers in the front court. Victor likes to do pull-ups and play off the screen as the ball handler and already has a great vision for pocket passes. So doing a pick-and-roll with the guard as the screener creating mismatches would be amazing
* A strong PF rebounder. I know Victor doesn't want to get big and I have seen this hinder his rebounding by being pushed out the paint by box outs and depending on his height.
* A CP3 or bronny James type point guard defensive athletic intelligent pass first archetype. The problem with Topic is that he's an atrocious defender. I'm talking comically bad. You probably can't trade for Trae if you add Topic.
Trae Young would cost the Spurs too much. Spurs should stick with draft this season and worry about trades next season when more vets will want to play with Wemby to chase a ring.
Draft bronny, get lebron.
Pop ain't gonna draft a complete dud that'd he'd have to give actual minutes to just to get his dad to play for a year or two. Goes against everything the team has stood for.
If they can get Lebron Bronny Bruce Brown Wemby and a combo guard.
lebron would stunt wembys development
i think anfernee simons might be available in off season
No way. He's literally the only positive thing that Portland has going for it this season. They ain't gonna let him go unless it's for a ridiculous deal.
@@Kagemusha08 yeah so the spurs know what they would have to give up
but i think cronin will be very willing to give him up for a good offer
cause i don't think they gonna trade scoot
and they gotta break them up at some point anyways
Nikola Topic looks like a white Michael Porter, Jr.
lol
MPJ is white what the hell are you on about haha 😂 I’m croatian and that dude has whiter skin than me. Barely anything about his face says he is black. He is as black as a regular African American is white.
Second pronunciation for Nikola Topić was better, still not it tho
Nikola Jokic, Nikola Jovic, Nikola Topic 😂😂
I swear I know many other Serbs from other sports and they are not called so similarly 😂 Not sure what is going on with these NBA players all sounding the same
A team of nikola’s lol 🤣🤣🤣
Find a way to get rid of Zach Collins' overpay for Chris Paul. Wemby finna average 45
Well firstly his teammates have to look at him as first option and not to be jealous of him, balance of power will take its time, every great prospect suffered with it, Spurs should honestly move on from Pop in next year, they need a coach who is hungry to win to motivate his players, Pop should be president of Spurs like Pat Riley not a coach
Trade for trae young and then get 3 and d guys to play 2-4 trae get the playmaking/scoring, wemby got rebounds/blocks/scoring (this is what I did in 2k lol)
they should trade for Darius Garland
draft a wing first round and bronny second round and sign lebron boom
Don’t get no damn Lamelo or Trae.
Pop only won with TD. He isn't winning w/o him. Errbody under Pop couldn't hit clutch FTs. Kawhi was an onlooker as they lost. Pop played ginobli toooo much. His record w/o Duncan? Wemb will have to win in spite of Pop. Pop uses bogue lineups. Always has. Their GM gave him great personell every year. They had great players on the bench & great starters.
Hello
it’s Toe-Pich bro
O never pronounce as an A in that language
They should build around Sheppard instead
They will kneecap this team by getting trae young
Sign good player big guy do big guy and small guy things he win game
How are his teammates too trash when last year they did better without him 😂
