  • Caymus Winemaker Chuck Wagner's son, Charlie Wagner, is the top dog at Mer Soleil, but how do his wines hold up compared to his father's, and are they interesting on their own? I've heard some pretty positive things about Mer Soleil, so I think it's time I pop a bottle for myself and put it to the test on today's WINE LAB!

So I COMPLETELY butcher the pronunciation of this wine throughout this video: it's pronounced MARE SOLAY, not Murr Sol isle, or Sol eel. Pardonne-moi

Hey, congrats on the 1000 subscribers!
Doing a tasting atm between a Don Benigno Fino sherry and Quinta Das Carvalhas 10yr Tawny port and your enthusiasm is a bit contagious.
As for that chardonnay, it would probably be a pass for me. I know some winemakers really do try and hit that mass market appeal but wines that are not memorable almost never get a second chance with me.
Life is to short for bad wine.
