I’ve taken my poodle a couple times just to have his butt trimmed. Because most of the time their poop is sort of lubed and doesn’t stick to his hair. But when my dog knows it’s not falling out normally he goes nuts and I say come on boy I’ll help you. Then you have to wash his butt good and he doesn’t like that either. I’ve taken him down to the groomer and even though they don’t want to charge me I still give her a twenty to give him a but trim. He so funny, he’s like get this poop off of me ha ha. My dog doesn’t like to be dirty. Lol.
Ha ha ha!!! If you ever some that is stuck on there, like dry, you can use shaving cream to loosen it! Put a small amount of shaving cream on it and give it a few minutes to work. I usually use gloves lol, and then you can break up the poop that is stuck in the hair. Then wash as usual.
I recently had to trim my goldendoodle puppy’s genital and butt area because she was getting pee on herself every time she used the bathroom. She was so calm when I did it but honestly I was having so much anxiety just because I was terrified I’d make a mistake and accidentally hurt her. Thank god nothing like that happened lol I’ve never had a long haired dog as an adult (only as a kid so grooming was not my responsibility haha) my other two dogs are short haired so this has never been an issue for me before. I’m so glad there’s how to videos on stuff like this honestly.
Lol! I've always wondered that with my dogs cuz they certainly don't make it easy on me! 😂 The groomers always say that they are good! But they have them on the table top with the leash/collar that holds them so they say that's what gets them to behave all I know is even if I had all that my girls wouldn't stand there all good that long for me! Haha

Yeah I give you groomers credit because without you us poodle owners would be falling off from worry and heart attacks. The biggest problem with poodle dogs is a groomer is a must. I’m going through this because this beautiful all black standard was my wife’s first and her responsibility but she passed away almost two years ago and now he is my responsibility and God forbid you have to miss your appointment cause you’re put on a waiting list. I’m about ready to hire my own groomer just so I don’t have to worry if I miss my appointment. Thanks for sharing your skills they are for sure needed. ✌️👍🇺🇸
Wow I’m watching this again and didn’t realize I left a comment. When I said my own groomer I was talking about hiring someone and paying them enough to come when ever I call. I’m almost serious about that. Because things happen or I forget the appointment day and then they call and say you had an appointment today so would you like to make another one. The next available is a month from now and it’s an extra 25 dollars because you missed it. Why don’t they call me the day before and remind me. I pay big bucks for his groom and I tip very well too. I’m ready to either do it myself or pay the big big bucks. But then I read your reply about a mobile groomer. Wow that’s a great idea. Just tell her where the keys are and I don’t even have to be home. I love my dog and he needs his groomer. Thank you so much for the mobile grooming services. You are good woman. Love that idea. I was looking at how to do around his eyes and butt when I found you today. And yup, they would give me the garage code or leave a key, and we’re happy the dog got to see a person in the middle of the day too. Mobile can be a little more expensive, but the convenience factor is worth it.
It's a personal choice. As a beginner, I wish to be taken seriously as a professional. The terms hygiene or sanitary trim are self-explanatory and more appropriate.

Hi! Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you! I like to use the “0” or an “A” attachment comb. And I prefer the steel combs for going through thick doodle hair, but the plastic ones also work great!
The last time I brought my puppy to the groomer, they snipped his bumhole and he would not poop because it hurt so much. It cost us 2000$ at the vet to sedate him so they could manually remove his stool..

I have all the ADD-dDdD so I had to put this disclaimer cause I can't retype this...sorry just got a little yorkie/toy schnauzer/chihuahua(no clue the mixed name..chorkiauzer??😂) mix puppy. He has a lot of hair on his bootyhole and he scoots on the carpet like he has worms(he doesnt) but the hair gets little knots, almost like the knots on sweaters. So I'm thinking that bothers him and why hes scooting and making it worse. (it would bother me)But Like not matted but tiny tangle balls😂 I figured it pulls like when you get a tiny knot on your temple and it gets caught in sunglasses or something. _AnYwAy_..... I've been trimming with tiny sewing scissors cause I'm so afraid of hurting him. He's got long wirey looking hair but its actually fine and soft and a mix between short and long... He's definitely mixed. *BUT*! if you've made it this far I have a question!!... he has a wisp of really long hair at the tip of his lil winkie and its stays wet when peepees... I was going to trim his winkie cause of that and his Lil legs he gets like a tiny spot on the bottom of his winkie that's parallel to the floor almost like he's getting a tiny carpet burn/tangle matted spot cause he has like baby fine short hair all the way to his tiny baby potatoes where it gets long again and up to his tail. I'm researching how to keep him clean cause every other dog I've had was short hair I guess cause I've never had a dog that needed it's no-no square groomed.😂
I am in no way a groomer or anything but have had a lot of little dogs with short/medium and long hair. I take my girls to the groomers every 6-8weeks, so they can get all pretty and trim those areas. Sometimes in between their grooming appointments I do need to trim their hair around their private areas so they don't have a mess. You can use scissors and trim the areas (might want to use better scissors than sewing scissors though so the hair doesn't pull) I have mainly had female dogs but you can cut the hair at the tip of his pee pee just make sure you know what part is hair and where the penis stops! But I'd definitely recommend getting him groomed and they take care of it all for you 😊🐕🐩🐾 hope this helped some!
Nope, never go down on the butt, because a lot of dogs will pucker and you can easily catch the skin even when your gliding. Side to side is the safest and going up should be for clean up.

Hello, sorry it took me so long to respond. A moser blade is a 5 in 1 blade, it has 5 blade lengths in one blade. I used the number 10 blade. The moser is also the name of the clipper. This is for very short areas only, you would not want to use this on the body for a haircut (too short). You can use a regular pair of clippers w a #10 blade. Watch my video on tools, it will help💜
Carefully....with very sharp bladed, but blunt nosed scissors. Sharp scissors will not pull the hair, and will cut cleanly. Wash scissors after use in hibiscrub or hot soapy water.

Awe, poor kiddo! Sometimes washing dried poo off can hurt bc it gets so stuck. I have a great tip for you! Buy shaving cream, it has to be the kind that comes in a van & comes out as a whipped texture. Apply that whipped shaving cream to the poo & hair. Wait about 5 minutes and it will rinse away much easier! Have a helper feeding her very small bites of deli meat, cheese, or small amounts of peanut butter-a treat she only gets while doing this task-to distract her and help her tolerate it a bit more. I hope this helps!

A mobile groomer may be a pawfect fit for you! They come right to the house and you don’t even have to be home🐾
