Have loved this version since I was 15 ... it's beautiful, brings out the feelings of mothers, dads, kids, veterans, young, old, and everyone in every place in the world.
Every word in this acoustic version hits me hard. Life has a way of bringing everyone to their knees. I’m just happy I heard this masterpiece years ago and every time I hear this song, I’m truly grateful for not giving up when it would’ve been so easy to do…
+Doug Otis amen brother - I came home to find mom took my bedroom - all my shit on the floor.... still no sorry, still no explanation.... I'm 34 now lol
4:29 - "When I want to bitch about growing old, I think about how many never had a chance…" we gotta treasure each day, man. Stay safe and enjoy life everyone. Cheers!
...SONG OF THE DAY!!! 🤘🏿ULTRAMEGAROLOTA🤘🏿10/02/2021
@LizzieSparrow2 I'm not sure about this version, but the original was written about his friend, who was a bouncer i believe, who had died. But im not sure about this version. But i absolutly love this version.
this song was on the "b" side of a single tape of one of their other hits from the album flesh and blood. single tapes, lol, do you remember them? i used to play this version to death because the other version was so played out. i love bret micheals, he seems geniune.
I agree. This version is amazing. Not that the other one isn't. I just can't decide which one I like better. They're both amazing I'm their own way and for different reasons. Gotta love Bret
No, this was CC. It was released on the B side of either the Album version of Something to Believe In or Ride the Wind. CC's good on Acoustic just not MTV Unpluged because he used a Electric/Acoustic guitar that doesn't give the same tone as a classic acoustic with nylon strings that this is played on.
It tries to be so deep and serious that it becomes a parody of itself. It's so cheesy it may have just made me lactose intolerant. I'll take the original any day.
I like classical guitar as much as the next guy, but the nylon sting guitar licks are not right for this song. Maybe it is because it is over done. Less is more.
Have loved this version since I was 15 ... it's beautiful, brings out the feelings of mothers, dads, kids, veterans, young, old, and everyone in every place in the world.
This version if everyone would listen and had the heart would learn something from it.
I agree one hundred million percent

I don't care how old it gets, it never gets old
Good music Never gets old,
A lesson i learned on my own.
The last verse used to make me chuckle...now those damn lines I find.

+Doug Otis amen brother - I came home to find mom took my bedroom - all my shit on the floor.... still no sorry, still no explanation.... I'm 34 now lol

"When I moan and bitch about growing old, I think of how many never had a chance"
One day I'm gonna finally pull that trigger... Today isn't that day

I want to say it was "Something to Believe In" or "Ride the Wind", I remember buying it and loving this version better than the album version.
I Like This Version Better
original great....alternate lyrics just as good/better or just more current,....2 stories with same basis. they don't get the credit they deserve...
I agree. This version is amazing. Not that the other one isn't. I just can't decide which one I like better. They're both amazing I'm their own way and for different reasons. Gotta love Bret
does anyone know where I can find tabs for the lead part in this song?
sad this song is dedicated to his friend that committed suicide
This version is not. The other version of this song is.
I can't remember which single it was from Flesh and Blood, but this was the B side to it, so it wasn't technically a new song from TBoB&B.
I had this on my Life Goes On Single B side.
Yea I just said that in the post!!! CASSINGLES!!!!! LOL
every struggle of a low earner tax payer all in one song
That part about politican taking kickbacks from drug lords. look at our border today.
this is prime vajine
this doesnt sound like cc is this richie kotzen on guitar i know cc does the orignal but this playing now doesnt sound like CC

CC's good on Acoustic just not MTV Unpluged because he used a Electric/Acoustic guitar that doesn't give the same tone as a classic acoustic with nylon strings that this is played on.
This allowed Bruce the ability to play differently and show different abilities but at the same time, some of his parts are C.C. Classic chops.
Original always better but a change
I wish he would have stuck to the original song, but It's his song so....no offence to who ever posted this.
It tries to be so deep and serious that it becomes a parody of itself. It's so cheesy it may have just made me lactose intolerant.
I'll take the original any day.
@@djb1273 wrong on both counts but nice try, buttercup.
I like classical guitar as much as the next guy, but the nylon sting guitar licks are not right for this song. Maybe it is because it is over done. Less is more.
but this is an example of "less is more", it's literally a stripped down acoustic version, those licks were added to make it sound more interesting
umm i bet poison did tons of drugs lol.. hypocrite
Asshole
Why a hypocrit? Wouldn’t the best person to save someone else from becoming an addict be the person who already walked in those shoes?
