If you actually watched the show you would realize what this moment actually meant, it was the deciding moment that made Saul decide he could still be Jimmy. If Kim could come clean about all the things she did, why the hell could he not do the same? Kim didnt ruin him here, she saved Jimmy without knowing it.
The moral of the story is about how our upbringing/genetics can shape the choices we make. Jimmy had the tendency to cheat to get ahead, but he wanted to be more like his brother whom he always looked up to. Jimmy did go straight, and then the skat scammers did their bit. From that point forward Jimmy kept going downhill, eventually getting Kim involved. She had the perfect competitive, tenacity driven work ethic that he, Chuck, Howard, Mike, Nacho, Gus, and Lalo all had. Except she started out being on the straight and rigid narrow way longer than Jimmy. And she actually got out of the mailroom and is advancing in the firm. Garnering more admiration from Howard and Chuck, along with many other prestigious law firms. But she was overworked, and Jimmy provided genuine fun and compassion. Along with her learned behavior of, “Don’t get caught”, she was an easy personality to let Jimmy drag her down into the depths that Jimmy is naturally attuned to. I’m tired. I’ve been sitting on my stairs waiting for some liar to leave my kitchen. I gotta poop so bad, I ate a big ass greasy pizza and it’s burbling. I’ve contemplated sticking my ass out the window, spraying and praying. One more hour.
I know the show runners put themselves in a corner. As far as the Lalo Salamanca character arch. But after they witnessed what they had in Tony Dalton's incredible portrayal of Lalo. I wish they would've changed course! He was such a dynamic character. By far the most compelling on the show! And now the show is somewhat dull. Find myself disinterested at points. Whereas before I couldn't get enough of Better Call Saul! Hell, they at least could've given Lalo a more fitting ending. The Lalo Salamanca we knew would never allow himself to get so sloppy, careless, & unfocused! Smh. It was such a betrayal to his otherwise masterfully crafted character.
