The Issues With Boba Fett Vs The Predator DEATH BATTLE!

- Death Battle is notorious for getting research wrong in some cases. While I believe it comes from incompetence 99% of the time and not due to any biases, wrong is still wrong. Here I go over the many mistakes with both the writing of the episode and the Yautja research.

I only watched the episode once. Only because I knew they would purposely give Boba the win because he lost twice.
I don't know why I haven't seen the Predator use his own bombs, for example Scarface has electromagnetic, electric, vibrating and toxic bombs, all of which will affect Boba Fett without having to affect his armor
If they were going to use the predator, they should've used one comparable to Boba Fett instead of making a composite one. A predator like Scarface would've made mincemeat out of Boba.
I know I'm a year late for this but one other issue I hate for any death battle really is having a named Mandalorian with many feats under his belt, vs just some random ass predator that has a few centuries of experience. If it was like Boba Fett vs Wolf (AvP requiem) than that would be better, at least in my opinion
I had so many issues with how Death Battle represented the Yautja... Aside from the Plasma Scythe, they also didn't opt for giving the Yautja the upgraded version of the combi-stick, the plasma glaive, which essentially is the same as a double bladed lightsaber and even ALLOWED to be used in hunts. Not to mention, they mention that Predators have fought and beaten superheroes, but doesn't even account for that in the research (i.e. No Prep-Time Batman and Law from Agents of Law). And they don't even GIVE the Predator the upgraded plasma caster, the Omni-Caster, which has three different energy types from Plasma, Incendiary, and Dark Plasma-- the last one being able to take down large prey as this energy affects the prey, and this plasma caster upgrade is ALLOWED in hunts.
If anything, the Predator should have been better thoroughly researched in terms of weapons and feats, notable Yautja who have some unique feats, and so much more.

Yup, one of the worst compositing examples of Death Battle ever, this one makes both Boba and Predator look like idiots. First off, I don't get the matchup, many of the connections don't make sense. I know they are both hunters who have advanced space armor with a wide variety of weapons, but Boba is a bounty hunter while the Predator is a trophy hunter.
The humor in the recaps, ranges from quoting movie lines to just lame puns. As for the Predator character they composited, they made him an elder Predator but did nothing with this, he certainly didn't act like an experienced hunter when he stabbed a tree.
Then there's the fight, there's a weird color inconsistency with the lighting of the trees and the ground. The trees seem to be glowing like it's a sunny day, but the ground has the lighting that makes it look like it is a cloudy day. I'm okay with Bob A Feet detecting Ned the Pred right away but it is still an issue that he forgets that his plasma caster exists, even though it was never damaged. The anti vehicle homing rocket that DB hyped up in the recap just makes this weak little explosion. Then Ned the Pred shoots a disc at Bob A Feet, which Bob deliberately turns his jetpack to let it hit it. I guess this is consistent with Bob having plot induced stupidity, like how he got knocked into the Saralacc. Then we get one of the two only good looking shots in the animation, the spear vs spear duel, although it is very distracting that the spear just spawns on Ned's back. Side note the way Ned's dreadlocks are inconsistently animated is very distracting. Sometimes they are completely stiff like he hasn't washed them in years, other times they flop around weightlessly, like he's Necalli from Street Fighter 5. Then we get the other good looking shot in the animation, the smart disc cutting Bob's arm off, though I don't know why Ned claims the arm as a trophy. Then we get the infamous tree stabbing scene, keep in mind that Ned's helmet has vision modes that enable him to see if Bob is above or behind the tree. By the way how did Bod climb the tree with one arm? This is after his jetpack has been disabled by the way. Bob drops a thermal detonator on Ned, this is somehow the most impressive explosion in the animation, even though I don't think thermal detonators are anywhere near that powerful. After the smoke clears, Ned uses his magic satchel to pull out a plasma scythe and takes off his helmet. Bob then quotes Dutch which feels really unfitting for a Star Wars character to say. Shouldn't he swear in huttese or use the Nemesis Blood Ry'ke patented "Heh, I've seen worse" instead? Anyway, we get a really bad looking clash of lightsaber and plasma scythe, before Ned somehow loses Bob, even though the animation clearly showed that the lightsaber is hotter than the fire, so there's no way Ned could have lost Bob. Then after Bob slices through Ned's plasma scythe, Ned just activates the self destruct without a countdown, the reason that the Yauja have a countdown in the first place is because if they are defeated, their honorable opponent deserves a chance to escape, for proving themselves superior. Once the wrist bomb goes off, the next shot is of Bob leaving the battle ground, with absolutely no new damage to his model.
The conclusion is unintentionally hilarious, they say that Bob's agility and jetpack helped him keep his distance from Ned's melee weapons. The jetpack gets taken out almost immediately and Bob deliberately fights Ned at close quarters. They say that Bob's armor is more useful because it protects more of his body, even though they showed in the recap that the Vanguard has a full suit of armor. This only applies because they used the original Predator design. They say that Bob would use dirty tactics but don't elaborate any further, the closest Bob does to that is dropping the thermal detonator on Ned when he's in the tree. They say that Bob's flamethrower would make it hard for Ned to see him, even though Ned was doing just fine before he knocked Bob to the ground. Then, they finally say that Bob would be killed by the self destruct if he was in point blank range of it, but that he would have time to escape before the countdown expires. Ned doesn't even bother with the countdown and Bob was right on top of him when Ned activated it. Basically the conclusion is the opposite of what happens in the animation.
Definitely a really bad episode, it wouldn't make it into my top ten but defiantly a dishonorable mention. Nemesis Blood Ry'ke said that this episode is just average, I think he was being way too forgiving to this episode.
I'm still not sure about Boba having light speed reactions, but I know that in the comic they showed him in, Vader wasn't going easy on him. In fact he was trying to defeat him as fast as possible so he could catch Han Solo, and Boba reacted to multiple strikes from Vader. I mean, it's technically possible that Legends Boba could be that fast considering he fought and killed many jedi who are supposed to be really fast.
Except if Vader wanted to he could just Force choke Fett and that would be end for Boba... In fact that's one of my issues with Star Wars; sometimes Force users will just have idiot ball given to them just so, they could have a fight with non-Force users. Just look at Obi Wan vs Jango Fett; when Kenobi could just grab Fett with telekinesis like a ragdoll but he never even try to do it... Or how about the fight in Throne room in TLJ, where two Force just forgot to use the Force on Pretorian guards ?!
I know boba fett would win but they straight up ruined the predator character and their conclusion is literally confusing
This is so true I was hoping for predator but knew they would give fett the win that episode was just so bad I was sad it wasn’t as good as what I was expecting
Yes they would and they said that they would be using a elder predator and this predator shows that he’s like a young blooded predator which makes no sense

Fettador is one of the worst death battles. Period.
The research was awful for both characters with Boba getting dozens of wanked feats that contradict canons and the Predator having one of the worst compositing in the show’s history and the overall conclusion not selling me on Fett winning at all.
And the fight animation just shits the bed in the second half and completely makes a mockery of the Predator. What a fucking disgrace. Sure it’s not THE WORST episode (Shadow vs Mewtwo, Bieber vs Black, Venom vs Bane, and the research parts of Goku vs Superman 2 are arguably worse) but Fettador is just shit, and it sucks that we have to end the first half of an otherwise great season on such a shit episode with such shitty representation of my favorite horror movie character.
No shot Boba should’ve, and at the very least, not for the reason in the death battle

My problem with this statement isnt that its wrong but that it feels like a direct regurgitation of every generic opinion from death battle fans.

To be honest most of DB videos are bad - that's why I stop watched them years ago and I wasn't tempted to go back. Firstly; since guy called David defeated dude called Goliath, it's well known that outcome of the fight - especially fight between fictional characters - shouldn't be determined only by physical attributes of combatants. In fact in most heroic stories antagonist should be much more powerful than protagonist; you want hero have something to overcome, you want your knight to slay a dragon which is mightily impressive. If not, every heroic story would look like "One Punch Man" in which protagonist is bored to tears with his own power and lack of challenge. Secondly; DB likes to use "physics" & "science" to determine the winner, when a lot of fictional characters are breaking law of physics on daily basis... Sorry, you can't have a cake and have it too; you can't determine winner with physics, when law of physics don't really apply to characters you are talking about.
