I just had de ja vu. A few years ago I was free diving with some buddies. Our leader took us to a swim through, we couldn’t see the exit but he assured us it was just a few metres ahead. I dived and swam through but no light and no air above my head. I lifted my head and thank God found my self in a little air pocket. I struggled to control my rising panic and readied myself in case a surge of water put me under the water. I heard my friends and shouted to them. Our leader got me out, I just went to one side to be alone and gave myself the biggest bollicking possible. Here I was a diving instructor diving without a torch, a guideline or a clear exit, how could I have been so stupid. I looked over and our leader was whiter than me. Lesson learnt life is precious, don’t throw it away.

Imagine his lungs tiring..his heart pounding his mind trying to betray his knowledge of what he should do and adding to it is the hypothermia inducing water temperature...what makes men do things like this...I would think because at the end..he beat his fear used his instinct and training to conquer what only a handful on this planet can so now he can say I can, I did and I will do it again..... thats beast madness... and another thing...his calmness in the midst of what could have been a death moment was surreal...while the people above were freaking out for his life...he stopped gathered his senses and got his butt out of there. I want someone like him on my side
