Sofirn with a tail switch is a win for me. I think tail switches on these smaller lights are so much easier to find and operate.
We need more electronic tail switches in general. That's a very underused form factor.
That e-switch at the tail, longish clip, power indicator, interesting bezel and a lens type that’s used in lighthouses - a must have, especially for us flashaholics! Thanks for all your work👍
Great review as always. I love that companies like Sofirn, Convoy, and Wurkkos exist so that enthusiasts can purchase great lights at any budget. Can't wait for my first Sofirn purchase.
Couldn't agree more!
I have an SP40 headlamp from them and it's amazing. My buddy for when I need both hands.
I'm actually quite looking forward to my SC13 from Sofirn they seem to have decent quality and are not in the "100000 lumens for $10" camp. I've seen some reviews from other people and different models and they seem pretty dead on with their claims. I bought my SC13 without a battery as I have a branded high quality 18350 for $21.57 CDN about $17 USD with free shipping on the site that is named after the prince of thieves in Baghdad. Can't wait to try it out. I'll put a review on my tech site.
Loving the rapid fire reviews lol. Quantity AND quality. Awesome review as always!
Making me tired! Definitely one a week for a while after this. Then 2-3 a week all summer.
fantastic breakdown. jumped on amazon and the sc32 is 22 bucks on sale right now. Snagged 3. Thanks for putting this together!
Got my two SC32's yesterday.. My buddy is thrilled with it. I love the warmer light too. Happy New Year!
Very nice!
Sofirn has been my "go-to" flashlight company since I first purchased one of their lights last year (an IF19 thrower). The build quality is high and their customer service is phenomenal.
Nice! That is great little light! That UI is a winner. Love the easy in and out of ramping mode. Tail switch for every day pocket duty is also my preference.
It's interesting seeing some of the design choices from Sofirn and Wurkkos mixed together. Definitely looks like another winner 👍
Agreed!
Always like your comparisons ! Thanks.
I love my SC32 with SFT40 LED. Thanks for the comparisons!
Two days in a row bringing nice budget lights. The SC32 is more my taste in general, but sometimes I like the cool white punch. Thanks for another option reviewed.
Right on
Great review…just ordered mine on Amazon!
I'm a big Sofirn fan and I love this light. Thank you for the review.
Thank you for the reviews! They help me make more informed decisions when making a purchase. I love the comparisons with other similar lights, so helpful!
Looooove Sofirn so I had to pick it up, thanks for the review!
Now i am convinced. Thanks for the review.
Another great review, with that neutral tint this will be exactly the EDC light I was looking for.
I have been loving your videos. Thank you for the comprehensive and approachable reviews.
You are so welcome!
I picked up the SC32 HCRI version (which sports a Nichia 519A LED) and it's been a fantastic EDC flashlight. The light quality is as close to sunlight as I've ever seen from an artificial source (even on moonlight). The clean tint, coupled with the smooth, even beam pattern make this an excellent choice for close up work. The tail switch is very satisfying, and the UI has everything I need (the only thing that could make this better is a secondary red light for night vision preservation). I first got into LED flashlights 20 years ago, and it's amazing to see the advances in what you can get, and for only $30!!!
Fun light, detailed review without waxing unnecessarily long (ie you don't just repeat yourself, each extra minute adds value) like some channels do. Thank you for what you do.
I try really hard not to.
i might have to pick one up now! nice review
Great review! I personally didn't appreciate the whole EDC segment until I started carrying a light for the entire shift lol. I like that it's equipped with the SST40 🤠👌🏽.
Great review. Just what I needed.
would like to see this with warm white, high CRI emitter.
Probably 90% of my lights are in the 4000-5000K range. SC32 seems like a solid car light.
Another great video. Thanks for considering to do a giveaway. Fantastic
Another great low cost flashlight. I enjoyed the video even though you used yesterday's comparison. I think making all these videos in such a short time is challenging
Exactly. It was a time saving move for sure.
Also a fan of neutral white options. Thanks for always including that data point!
You bet!
Love my SC18 ! My first 18650 light.Wurkkos also has some great lights in this category. 🔦 Enjoyed your review !!!
Awesome review! Sofirn are fantastic bang for the buck lights. My place of work recently hired a new guy that's also new to our profession as a whole. Certain EDC items are must haves for the job, and a compact, versatile and powerful light is the most essential must have of all. He didn't have any job related EDC gear, and because he listens, works hard and shows respect I wanted to get him an EDC light as a welcome aboard gift at our work's Christmas party. My personal favorites are the Baton 3 that's always clipped inside my work shirt front pocket and the Baton 3 Pro I keep in my EDC satchel. Both are the yardsticks I judge all other compact lights by in terms of their overall design, aesthetics and build quality, run times, ease of use, ease of charging, versatility and size to lumen output ratio.
The price of either Olight was an inappropriate amount to spend for the occasion, but I still wanted to give him a quality EDC work light worth having. So I started seeing what I could find for $25 to 30 bucks, which was right in line with our spending limit for gifts. A 500 lumen max is as good as that price gets with an Olight, and on Amazon this price point dumps you into a sea of no name brands making ridiculous lumen output claims. I kept looking and eventually came across the 2000 max lumen Sofirn SC31 Pro for $30 bucks. Wow what an absolute banger of an EDC light for the money, it was a perfect choice for the situation.
Thanks for the great reviews. I appreciate the introduction to other flashlight brands.
My pleasure!
Seems like a great light at a reasonable price! Thanks for the review
I much prefer the SC32, looks neater with the tail switch and neutral white is also my preference, it's crisper light, if that's even thing .
Love how compact the SC32 is. Wish I didn't mind tailcap switches as much.
Might have to pick one of these up. Thanks!
Any time!
Great keep telling more about the LED emitters! Thanks!
Nice comparisons! I always appreciate how you will show lights of varying price points against one another... Really drives home the available variety on the market and why the different design philosophies usually all have their merits.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@cheule HOW ARE ELECTRONICS? IS IT EVEN REGULATED?
ANY RUN TIME CURVES?
Ive sold my sc32 to minimise my collection, few months ago got the wurkkos wk03/sofirn sc18 . It's a great light, now retired to my baton 4.Time to time I kept remembering the sc32. The feel, quality. I want the hcri version but sofirn don't make it any more. Should have grab it. Anyone have any doubt getting the sc32, just get it. It's a very good edc light
Might just have to pull the trigger on this one, thanks for the review
Hope you enjoy it!
Sofirn always have pretty good flashlight for the price, they didn't disappoint !
I love how you measure the led quality 😍
Yes, I review the lights they way I want them reviewed-I’ve ever cared about runtime so I don’t test it. But tint is the most important thing for me.
I was on the fence about this one, but I think I'll get one now. 😁
Thank you for the always great content!
My pleasure!
Great video. This is a very compelling light, especially for the price. I just ordered one on Amazon and waiting on it to arrive. I could not find anything in the Olight or Fenix line up that offered all the features this has in an 18650 light with a UI completely controlled by a tail switch (most require use of a side switch to get access to all light modes). Can’t wait for this light to arrive. Despite owning many Fenix and Olight flashlights I anticipate this one being my new EDC.
I like it... I think I'll order 2 (one as a gift). Thanks for the review. :)
great video good reviews keep em coming
I have often wished that anduril’s smooth ramping was a bit slower so I could actually stop it where I wanted it but that is a bit too slow.
Thanks for the great review!
I’ve been looking at the SC32 for a while. I think it’s cool that the UI can be stepped or ramped. And for $30! 😃
Great review. I have been thinking of getting the sc32 for a while now. Sofirn has the 6500k version in their website.
Thank you for the informative review. I just ordered a SC32 as I do deliveries and some days I'm in the dark. This seemed to be a great value, price vs performance. Thx again for your time and efforts in sharing your opinions.
Impressed by this one from sofirn. Probably will buy this one at some point.
I love these form factors. I just recently picked up Convoy T2. Everyone recommended S2+ but I like the versatility of the batteries options of the T2. And neutral white off course
Good choice if you like AA.
Like the two-way pocket clip & tail switch on this one.
I like this SC32 with the natural light and transition from the hot spot
Keep em coming!
You got it!
Great review as always ..! Might have to pick up a few for some birthday gifts …
I LIKE THE TAIL SWITCH, AND THE RAMPING..😎
Pretty cool package, for the price!
That’s one I’ll probably try before I really got hooked on flashlights I only bought the highest k flashlights in cool white thought they were so much brighter and didn’t really like a warmer tint but after getting more and watching your videos now i do see the difference’s my edc 18 xp-l hi 3d 5000k neutral white has actually starting to grow on me question for you or other followers with ramping first I love it wish the all had it now my other lights step ramp or click to next level you say this one is slow I feel my edc 18 is just a bit fast find myself going up then going back a hair can that be changed only 2 weeks in with anduril have it mostly figured how to get to all modes anyway!
Nice light, I may need to grab one of these!
Easy to own at that price. A good “lender.”
I’ve recently become a Sofrin fan due to their value and bang for your buck they’re hard to beat
Those SST40, 5,000k always make me leary in regards to green tint. Good to see that they're not all bad though! Thanks for the review.
I like this better than the sc18 because of the neutral white, tail switch and two way pocket clip.
Nw is the way to go! My first couple light were CW now getting lights in NW because of how warm the coloration shows! Thx for the awesome videos!!
I like the tail switch and color of the SC 32 better. No next day option right now but I’ll probably order it anyway.
I like how compact they are, they are the perfect size for EDC.
Can't believe the SST-40 in this light is so close to neutral ... I fully expected this to be crazy green.
It was a pleasant surprise for me.
I really like the sc32 just wish it had a magnetic tailcap, it would be perfect
That rear switch design is very reminiscent of the Wurkkos TS10
You can't go wrong with a sofirn when it comes to VFM. Thanks for the review.
Sofirn, Conoy and Wurkkos are (in no particular order) the podium of VFM. Exceptional brands.
Sofrin seems to have a pretty decent lineup for not a whole lotta money. They aren't as robust as some others, or this or that but for the price to value; seem hard to beat with a wide range of options.
I’d love to see some emitter swap possibilities with this, it’s got such a cool unique optic.
I'm 2 min into the video and ordered one this will be my edc for work I can beat the hell out of it and I'm out $30
I’ll have to look into those lights
A clear low cost winner!
I think so too!
I used to be all about the tail switch. I felt like my EDC needed to be quasi tactical. I have since moved away from that. Maybe I will give the SC18 a look.
Have been using this light as edc since this video, and it’s great light output and convenience for its size, and the UI is simple and easy to navigate.
A few complaints though, the tail switch is accidentally pressed quite often and I end up with a warm pocket and a dead light if not turned off. The pocket clip broke off on the second day, kinda flimsy. The light output is enough, but could definitely be a little warmer and a little brighter, but for the money I can’t complain.
Finally someone talks about the tint! lol
With the 5000k and slight green tint in moonlight (which I rarely ever use) I can TOTALLY live with that for less than $40. I've basically been looking for this exact light (single LED, close to mid range, single tail switch for everything, non-proprietary 18650, self contained charging, NW, some form of Anduril, compact form factor) but until now I haven't found it yet. lol The fresnel lens is an interesting idea vs TIR too. Seems to work very well!
Ty for the review!
Yes, some people ask me for runtime charts-but I don’t do them because I simply don’t kill my batteries. I’ve never exhausted even a single 18350 in my normal day. And if I thought I was going to, I’d carry a spare. So that topic doesn’t interest me.
Tint, however, is super important to me. Which is why I bought the Sekonic. I wanted accurate measurements.
@@cheule the tint is really important for most of us, even people who don't realize it, yet😂😂
Runtime is important for people, who actually use the lights they own in a professional and outdoor settings. It's not that they don't want to carry spare batteries, they just want to know how many they'll need for given light.
@@cheule Yeah, I'm in IT so it's nice to have a tint that makes it easier to distinguish between orange and brown while terminating or punching down CAT 5 and 6 cables. I personally don't like warm lights, but a nice neutral is way easier on the eyes close range than a cool white and trying to tell what color is what. lol Lumens and battery are secondary since my light never really gets put on anything past a medium mode.
Looks like a short light. Thats good. Thanks for video comparison.
BRING ON THE SWAG!!!😉👍 LOL... PART-7?
Dude awesome n great vid. My first sofirn light is a keychain but it is amazing n proved the companies makes great products . This light is definitely on the wish list now. Thanks
Looks like a great value.
I think so too!
I use a ti pineapple to leave bed, gather clothes , an travel to kitchen to get dressed in morning. Then pocket it an use a v1 warrior mini to walk to garage. Like to keep it dark for kids an my wife. I tried to daily my citadel, but felt it all day in my pocket. The warrior gets clipped to my lunch box while at work. Just didn't feel safe with citadel being left alone on my box ya know.
Wow, the Reaver Arms Citadel was too big? That’s not even 18350, it’s 16340! You really are s 14500 and under guy!
Sofirn and convoy great value for the price
haven't tried sofirn yet, might just give it a try
They’re very inexpensive and high quality.
Man, wish I new about this before I picked up the Fenix PD25R.
Look like a plight a little great video!
I bought one of these when they first released it last year. I loved it, an EDC-sized Sofirn w a single switch & on the tail. Only thing was it's an electronic switch, not mechanical & i found it easily clickable unintentionally clipped into my pocket. I dealt with it for a few months & one day, it clicked on while I was driving, melted a hole in the front pocket of my poly/blend pants, somehow without me feeling it. The material melted to the light's lense. Light still works, but if anywhere near a high setting, the trashed plastic lense & former cloth mixure heats up & smokes. So it's basically trash to me. I have 10+ other Sofirn lights of varying designs & I love 'em. Great enthisiast products for good prices. This was just one bad situation. I wish the button was quite a bit firmer to resist unintentional activation or perhaps recessed a bit into the tail. It's a great light otherwise, tho.
i dig the beam on that guy for how cheap it is
in lock out mode, can you "hold" the button and get "moonlight" while you're holding it? I saw that in one of these reviews, and now I can't find which light does that. I think that is a great feature.
Looks like a great gifting light.
Looks like a potential budget light for modding. We can buy some Rayten 3V domeless 5050 90+ CRI emitter and swap it with the stock SST-40.
That ramping seems lightning fast compared to Convoy's ramp speed.
Haha!
awesome light, love mine one
Nice comparison.
How do you like it.I’m debating on getting it for work and edc
Nice overview! Clearly a good beam quality with added punch threw characteristics.
I'm curious if you've been interested Powertac, at all? I noticed no videos from that brand.
The SST40 5000K receives a lot of smack for being green, I'm glad your Sekonic shows it pretty close to neutral(the way I see it).
At least they added ramping to this. Discrete steps are an absolute no-go for me. I won't purchase a light anymore without ramping.
I like ramping when using an eSwitch, but I vastly prefer modes and a forward clicky.
