Pereira clearly won 2 and 3. He outlanded Jan in the third. Taking him down and sitting in his guard for 40 seconds at the end of the round doesn't cancel out the clean shots Pereira was landing. 2-1 ez
One of the reasons why Jan gassed out is because he was trying to fight a very unusual way for himself which is trying to grapple a lot. Fighters who have a lots of experience in grappling because that's their style of combat and they are very good at it, they could do that all match long and with ease and elite grapplers usually have elite cardio/endurance even though cardio and endurance means pretty much the same thing.
Jan was grappling because his game plan was to submit Alex. He realized that he didn’t have a takedown defense or much grappling skills by watching his other fights. He probably focused a lot of his time on grappling during the camp. His team thought it would be an easy win. I found it annoying that he would put Alex in losing positions and then not execute them properly.

Alex looked great at LHW. He definitely has the size and frame for it without compromising his stamina. He definitely looked like the fresher fighter after round 2. Jan looked gased. I fear Alex doesnt have the ground game or grappling skills to last in that division. Middleweight is a lot of strikers
Jan finished the fight with a leg completely busted, his nose split open and bleeding, completely exhausted and getting outstruck by 18 significant strikes. perhaps it takes more energy to contain pereira than it looks, because something of a quick turn of momentum came about mid-through this bout it seemed... and just when it looked like alex may've been really about to successfully defend from take downs, then came the rather sift takedown once again from jan. jan may've more so caught alex off guard with that, but he looked both confident imposing his grappling and going toe to toe with alex early on. it could've looked like jan was passing out when in that guillotine early on, but never mind perhaps as ironically, he very next appeared easily making his way around.
Being completely objective , in my eyes . Alex definitely took that 3rd round, Jan took the 1st. I’m not comfortable saying Alex took that 2nd though. I’ve watched this fight 5 times , each time I’m more convinced Jon should have taken that fight 2-1. I’m a huge Alex supporter too. They need to run this back at elevation.
This match was closer than I thought. This video is my first time seeing this match. On first watch, I have it 2 to 1 for Jan...and 40% of my family is Brazilian. I wanted Poatan to win. I gave 1st and 3rd to Jan "Pole-ish Power". I'll watch it again after I rest, and from different angles, to see what I think later.
Jan simply not at his best at 40 years old, he got tired fast. Jiri is gonna be a different fight, more action, he is muay thai world champ and has same height and reach as Alex, Jiri is not gonna be afraid of Alex
He won round 2 and 3. Definitively, I think people just watch with emotions and see things differently if they're emotionally attached to their favorite fighter. Jan got tired after the first round and then didn't really do anything exciting afterwards except land takedowns that he lost position of and strikes that didn't phase Pereira or change the fight in his direction. He went flat and his cardio was pretty much gone after the second.
Jan dominated round 1 and got takedowns both in round 2 and 3. It should been a clear win to Jan and not some bs corrupt split decision to keep their new golden boy on top
@@whero13as yes takedowns are scored. Pretty common knowledge. All fighters get points on takedowns even if they didn’t get the submission . Alex was held down for a whole round totally dominated lol. He had full ground control. You should know the rules

perhaps it takes more energy to contain pereira than it looks, because something of a quick turn of momentum came about mid-through this bout it seemed... and just when it looked like alex may've been really about to successfully defend from take downs, then came the rather sift takedown once again from jan. jan may've more so caught alex off guard with that, but he looked both confident imposing his grappling and going toe to toe with alex early on. it could've looked like jan was passing out when in that guillotine early on, but never mind perhaps as ironically, he very next appeared easily making his way around.
Lol he got taken down a olmand is ashamed he move division because kamzat nis coming lol
Jan used all his energy in the first round controlling Alex and after that, no more Jan...
I’m impressed with the zoom of ur camera man)
Every calf kick of Alex draws a whole crowds reaction, you can just tell how much they sting
Bom trabalho, AP.
🇧🇷👍🏿
I love this footage, UFC could have this option.
All Jan did was have control time.
Your all a bunch of filthy animals 😂
Nice camera and camera work. Ty for film
Thanks!

Jan won 🏆 he got robbed smh..
Jan won this flight, maybe was 50/50 , but for sure Puatan didn't win.
Please tell me you have a Lewis vs De Lima video coming. The crowd was insane.
Poatan has learned to be patient in striking when he gets an opponent's back against the cage.😂
Ref: The Adasanya Effect.
Adesanya is def going to die if he tries to get that lhw belt again
Jan simply not at his best at 40 years old, he got tired fast. Jiri is gonna be a different fight, more action, he is muay thai world champ and has same height and reach as Alex, Jiri is not gonna be afraid of Alex
Altitude
Jan is a better fighter than jiri
@@faridabouhi9500 I think he got tired first round, trying to wrestle Alex. Alex is big and strong, and Jiri couldnt man handle him.
@@faridabouhi9500 more rounded, i agree, but age is not by Jiri side..
Poatan is worse than Jan .
@@danielzajac9719 It's you who's good, go fight him.

Alex 🇵🇰❤️
¿quien ganó?
Man, I wish one day I would be there
Jan was getting the better of Alex all Alex was landing was those kicks
😂😂😂😂 yeah right. Go see an optometrist. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
After watching this fight a second time I have to admit Poatan did win Rd3
He won round 2 and 3. Definitively, I think people just watch with emotions and see things differently if they're emotionally attached to their favorite fighter. Jan got tired after the first round and then didn't really do anything exciting afterwards except land takedowns that he lost position of and strikes that didn't phase Pereira or change the fight in his direction. He went flat and his cardio was pretty much gone after the second.
Döyüşü şərh edən insan superdi👍👍👍bu iş onunçundu
Sometimes I wish the ufc provided different angles to watch like this
Jan dominated round 1 and got takedowns both in round 2 and 3. It should been a clear win to Jan and not some bs corrupt split decision to keep their new golden boy on top
you think someone should win a fight for lying on someone without hurting them?
Hahahaha take down and do nothing. Jan’s face says a lot about the fight. Thanks God UfC is moving away from that hugging BS
@@whero13asThat’s what it sounds like to me!
@@whero13as yes takedowns are scored. Pretty common knowledge. All fighters get points on takedowns even if they didn’t get the submission . Alex was held down for a whole round totally dominated lol. He had full ground control. You should know the rules
@@felipejotz7054 hitting someone without dropping them even once is not called dominating. Especially when the other guy still hits back as nothing happened lol. Holding someone down for a whole round and having their back is pretty much domination according to the rules yeah
How does Jan lose this???
1 round jan 2 , 3 Poatan.
doing what he did 😂
I think end 1 went to Jan, and the 2nd and 3rd were close but AP was the more effective damage dealer.
I think Jan wins the first without doubt. Alex does a bit and you could say he wins the second, but also could be a tied round. But third, Jan does enough and I think steal the round.
Either 2-1 Jan
Or
A tie.
Sure Jan looked tired and laboured, but he was still in it. I don't think Jan looses.
@@jakel3972 I mean he did get a take down, at the end but didn’t do anything with it, and for the most part he was out struck in the 3rd as well. I’d say look at the success of each those perspectives. I don’t think a take down without any damage done or even a sub attempt will put point someone who’s getting the better of you on the feet.
Thanks men
I like the fact the dude infront decided to go to a fight knowing people are seated behind him yet decides to gel his hair sticking up.
Dis robbery
Lol how, he lost the last 2 rounds easy.
Im not convinced on how alex won the fight. It maybe a close fight but jan deserve a rematch
Better than ufc camera men
