I have lived in Japan and used this service for years. Unfortunately after I discovered Thailand and the Philippines, Japan went down to the bottom of my list. The service is restricted, prices are very inflated now, despite the increasing supply and decreasing demand and a lot of establishments use false advertising (girls look prettier online than real, hidden fees etc). Also, in my experience a lot of the girls are starfish types and if you don't like that you won't have that much fun as they generally don't offer much in terms of skills. Unfortunately so. If I may be candid, I let my desire for gratification override my moral compass while I was in Japan, so I did partake in the services. Now then, it's been roughly six years or so since I last did anything like it, and all I can say is that at the end of the day, the pleasure was there, but it was fleeting. All that awaits after is loneliness.

Agree, but I feel the Japanese have no true sense of "family". Marriage in Japan is more contractual - the husband has to work hard to support the family, and the wife has to raise the kids. She puts all her effort into that, abandoning her husband's needs in the process. So Pa Pa goes out to prostitutes to satisfy his sexual needs. Surprisingly, many Japanese wives turn a blind eye to this problem, not caring at all about what he does as long as he keeps his part of the "contract" and brings home a decent salary.
