    Another great vlog brings back fond memories for me after my first visit to Dolphin Bay in 2011, things have changed so much, not many knew about these hidden gems. Looks like Bangkok people head there now for weekend getaways. Look forward to next episode, don’t think we will have wheels up here in (steak & kidney) 😆 this year, oh well my bank account is looking sweet for my next trip to Hua Hin. Take care.

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  Před 4 lety +2

      @maccastime So true that. These really were hidden gems back when & I'm referring to 20 years back when I was living in Hua Hin & first started visiting Dolphin Bay/Sam Roi Yot. I actually feel a tad guilty showing off these places now. But as you point out, they're getting known & bound to get even more known regardless. Meanwhile that whole coast is still pretty much off the beaten path so to speak so still very enjoyable to visit & may it continue to be .
      BTW, still plenty of time before say Oct-Dec thus still holding out hope things may yet improve enough for initially limited, then slowly expanded wheels up. Fingers crossed.

      @เกรแฮม รัดด์ Thank you! Agreed! Would include Bang Sapan yai/noi as well plus down to Sichon and Khanom. That entire coast is the least visited yet most fabulous in all Thailand imho. Part 3 to this video is upcoming & more trips South to follow :)

    first went to Dolphin Bay in 2008 and loved it one of the girls who worked on receptions father was a fisherman and in the day time could hire him to takes us around to many different places it was amazing, and even now i still do the coastal run from Hua Hin to Dolphin Bay by Motor Bike so much to explore on a bike top place love it

      @SideTripLife  Před 4 lety +1

      @Barry Jackson The fisherman's boat tour around the area sounds like a wonderful experience! Biking trips from Hua Hin too. From the pineapple fields to the coastal road and all around Sam Roi Yot's beautiful hills & valleys, the whole route is just made for biking! Maybe get a helmet cam for your next outing, that would be amazing :)

      Are you in Dolphin Bay now?
      Where to next?

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  Před 4 lety

      @3Vimages Thanks for the followup. I'm in Bangkok currently (live here, riverside area). Also currently working on launching a rather large project very soon (TBA, pls click that bell beside subscribe button to get notified all;) Camera? In this video I just used my trusty but long in tooth Samsung S7 phone. Badly need to upgrade but waiting on a decent phone with built-in gimbal (so will struggle along with me old sammy until then;) Face? I've spent 10 years developing and admin of some large-ish websites and if you knew what I do about some of the oddballs out there, you'd NEVER put your face or details on the internet... Having said that, primary reason is I really just prefer POV filming (from behind the camera) as my channel is not about me, it's about the content, trip, event, etc. So thanks for watching :) STL

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  Před 4 lety +2

      @francois vinneuil Thank you very much Francois. As for the cam setup. I'm using an old Samsung S7 & a knock-off action cam and although good in their day, for sure those days have passed. So will be looking at upgrading, waiting on phone with builtin gimbal or the next gopro, hopefully with larger sensor for low-light.
      Actually this does cost far more than it makes but that's fine by me as I enjoy it. However, just today I activated my long dormant Patreon page, so if anyone would like to consider supporting the channel that would be greatly appreciated :) Please see: www.patreon.com/sidetriplife

      Ben’s actually reviewing interesting phones as far as gimbal integrated techno : czcams.com/video/uQ4olk0mQMU/video.html
      Thanks for the Patreon link I will be adding hopefully more than 2 cts 😁

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  Před 4 lety +1

      @francois vinneuil Thanks for the link to ben's gadget reviews of the X50 w/gimbal, good review & suggestion! Have had my eye on a similar model as seen here: czcams.com/video/AxwwlAWZvqg/video.html
      X50 for sure ticks many boxes (and at half the price of flagship phones like iPhone 11, with no gimbal). But as the X50 is version 1, of course they've got some fine tuning to dial in some failings (night mode saturation etc) so will wait a bit to see the next test results after software updates.
      I really appreciate the thought about supporting the channel (feel a bit weird activating Patreon actually) so if some wish to add support, great, if others wish to support by watching, that's great too, all appreciated. Cheers! STL

    • @SideTripLife
      @SideTripLife  Před 3 lety

      @艺术家_Ethan Hi there. To be honest, I'm actually a bit shy filming period. When filming people (hotel receptionist etc) I always ask if it's ok. On the street, out in public etc, if I get even the slightest sense someone doesn't wish to be filmed I immediately pan away or stop and not show them.
      I looked at your channel and although I don't understand Chinese language, your vids are very nicely filmed (better than mine!) and nice editing too. So I would suggest to keep filming if this is still something that you like to do.
      About being depressed... that's very tough and many are in the same boat around the globe. However, the good news is better days will come so try to keep spirits up! Take care
