    Spanish below!
Starting a 'making of' series to show how I make projects -personal ones and maybe yummy commissions if the customers give their permission of course!
To begin with, here's how my Aspicia (La Fille du Pharaon) tutu costume was made... in a rush! This couple videos (parts 1 and 2) sum up about a month's work so no, tutu making is not quick (even though I took lots of shortcuts to get the job done quicker!).
I like to say that sewing is not a difficult task but one that takes time and patience, specially in big projects as this one. I've tried to explain the main steps in the texts but in case you need any more information just leave a comment and I'll do my best to solve your doubts =)

+jankoraven Thank you! Unfortunately the stage footage of this costume is most likely going to take a while: it was an exam actually so the film was not made just for me but for all students. Bureaucracy, you know... that can take some time =(

This was a great overview of all the major aspects involved in making a proper tutu. I'm curious about the spray paint that you used. I know that a lot of costume makers will use special fabric paint and an airbrush, but you have used something available in a can? I would love to know what you used and how it changed the texture/softness of the tulle. Love your work :)

Thank you and sorry for this very late response!
I used just the most cheap and basic spray paint I could lay my hands on. I found it in my local dollar store, so you can imagine it's not the most specific nor the best kind of paints -but it did the job!
It did make the fabric a bit stiffer, although in the end this was not a big deal. It still looks good after all this time!

I just have a question. For when you sewed the pieces onto the underwear, were the pieces of tule already in a circle shape?

The pleated tulle for each layer was not in a circular shape but in a sort of pleated strip. It's the actual shape of the panties plus the reinforcement of the hoop which gives the skirt that shape =)

Any tips for making a useable cheap pancake tutu ?! As in danceable ?!

      Sorry for this late response!
You can just skip most of the shortest layers and use only the six longer ones to make this project cheaper and faster. Also, if you don't mind the skirt being a bit more floppy you can also eliminate the hoop and the layer that encases it!
Plus, I like to make my tutus fluffly and full, but you could use less length to create each layer =)

I might consider making a step-by-step video on how to make a tutu of this sort. As for measurements, tutus should be made to measure -which is this case.

I used about 12metres of tulle about 1.40metres wide in total.

Hi I was wondering what kind of tulle you used? Also amazing video👏

      Thank you!
For the top layers of light blue net, I used soft craft net. For the rest, it was regular craft net that is stiffer and works perfectly fine for pancake tutus!
