Your channel is amazing. You deserve so much more attention
@@eduardoestrela7452 thank you so muchh Eduardo! :3
U totally deserve more!
Thanks for the review, really appreciate. I think I'm going to dedicate 6 months only to kanji and be done with it, it's pretty exhausting when I tried to do while learning sentences and grammar.
you guys are so quick !!!! Thanks for the video Chad!
It's crazy right! Thanks for watching Zyhon! Continue unto your quest for the ultimate discord role! haha
This video is great! And you’re rly funny lol. Also- I love your background !!?? It’s so cool
Thank you so much Tosia :D
I've finished RTK 1 a few months back. Reading on the Japanese Wiki I've come to realize how many Kanji I still don't know, definitely going to check RTK 3. Thanks!
The Amazon streaming thing that you have mentioned is actually pretty neat!
Love the analogies !
6:57 shows 15 kanjis in the book. Out of those 15, I can recognize 13, can read 11, and can write 9.
侃 and 脩 are the ones I can't even imagine what do they mean. I just struggled to type them on IME-pad-hand-writing😢
I'm a native Japanese speaker and I guess my knowledge level of Kanji would be pretty higher than average Japanese adults.
Then you turned the page, and oh I'm seeing 14 mysterious marks, all far beyond my comprehension ha ha ha
Kingo Friver3 the joys of kanji xD I actually asked a Japanese friend of mine to take the N1 kanji section and an online kanji test for a video last year and he failed both! I wish I had my footage still of all that I really wanted to make a video :/
@@ThatsMyChad It'd be funny if I could watch your friend failing N1😂Just now I tried the kanji test on japanesetest4you.com and I successfully got 100 out of 100. Anyway, I had a lot of fun today. Thank you!
@@kingo_friver I plan to film it again with different friends when Japan opens up! :D I'll keep you posted on when it goes up, but thank you so much for watching!!
RTK was a godsend
Chad, its been a while but great to see you at it strong! Hope all is well. Are you in Japan?
All of those characters are very common in Mandarin.. so I could imagine you need to know all those noun Kanji for Japanese as well.
Thanks Chief
I’m just into RTK for 4 days but my head is still clear after 100 kanjis. I’m doing 5 new kanjis 5 times a day, so 25 in total. Doing my own cards really help them stick and has been a much more satisfying experience so far in comparison to using pre made decks. I’m doing 100 repetitions per day (also 5 times a day à 20 cards) in my SRS programme (Fresh Cards for Apple) and try not to stress. I also write the kanjis every time on the palm of my hand when recalling (Heisig is right, Japanese people do it and it works wonders). Already after 4 days I had first contextual aha moments when reading Japanese lyrics. Priceless feeling. So now do this 21 times again and my done with the book.
Almost there! Then you just have one more thousand and it’s off to the races! :D
I just finished RTK 1 and I'm excited to start with RTK 3 tomorrow. I want to get it over with as soon as possible. I get so annoyed when I encounter Kanji that I don't know the meaning of. The first one of RTK 3 (此) is already so useful.
I'm only about 4 months into the Japanese journey and I just finished RTK 1 a few weeks ago so it was interesting hearing what you thought about RTK 3. I wasn't entirely sure how often those kanji would be used (although I've already seen a few kanji that I don't know). I might start RTK 3 at some point but it will probably be quite a while. Thanks for the review.
Tip: don't stop reviewing rtk 1 cards !!
MIA suggests to keep reviewing for 3 months
@@user-rt6ij3rz5y I'm still reviewing every day (daily reviews have finally dropped to about 100 in my Anki deck). I'll definitely keep going for awhile. I can already tell that my kanji recognition is getting faster.
Good luck dude, i am still at 400 :(
@@user-rt6ij3rz5y owch, i remember spending 2 hours on doing 200 reviews +25 new ones a day. I couldnt keep going like that and was so bored so i paused it for a week to get my reviews down to like 100 then i kept going with some grammar and vocab on the side. currently 1000 kanji in and im planning on doing RTK3 as well but its rather scary to know i got 2000 kanji left to go trough in the next 2-3 months
@@maiadraconica6488 RTK is
extremely painful but effective
And there is no easy way to learn kanji so.. i will just want to do it sooner as i could so i can really progre
RTK 3 is a book I'm excited to buy! Can't wait to finish the first 2
I'm a big fan of heisig!
Honestly, I don't think that doing rtk 2 is worth the time. The time is better spent learning Japanese words and grammar. The main reason being that the rules for which reading to use are inconsistent. The point of rtk, at least in my opinion, is to make kanji become an alphabet. In other words, when you learn a Japanese word like 学校(がっこう) which means school, the kanji that make up the word aren't two random symbols that when combined are read as がっこう and mean school. Instead, they are two symbols that you have seen before, and you kind of know the meaning of and you know the parts that make up them. This seems kind of useless but allows you to memorize the reading and meaning of Japanese words a lot faster and with a lot less frustration. So, don't memorize readings but instead memorize words. If you don't know how a word is read or what it means, use Jisho.org to look it up.
@@neilchattopadhyay1577 true, but my goal is to eventually have a deep understanding of the language similar to the level of a native. When they see the word 学校 they have an emotional connection to that word and know what each character can be if that makes any sense. I want to reach there one day
@@massimmersion3056 If that's your goal then rtk2 won't do that as memorizing readings won't allow you to feel the meaning of words. The only way to do that is to get a lot of input and exposure to the language.
@@neilchattopadhyay1577 thanks for your help man :) I'll continue to increase my input!
...I'm hoping the hype train didn't leave me already!!! *presses play* Let's do thisssss!
i have kanji 1but what about this?is good to buy ?
i dont know if i can physically force myself trough RTK 3 after finishing 1, cause im 1300 kanji in and im dying on the inside ._.
Dude I feel you. I am currently at 1700 but loosing motivation. I thinking of doing a small pause and concentrating on a a other part of Japanese.
@@wernerdietrich7429 i finished it, burned out and didnt do japanese for a while but it did help xD
Its a good time for a break, but keep doing the reviews. it did help with making me more comfortable with kanji, but i wish i did the RRTK or something like that cause 2.2k was just to much for me
@@maiadraconica6488 Oh how many did you do each day to burn out?
Yeah I think I will take it slower and maybe make a break for a weak. I mean 500 isn´t that much any more and I would probably be finished in 2-3 weaks but I want to continue after that with the reading and for that I will need motivation as well. Did you already finished the readings?
@@wernerdietrich7429 I did 25 a day. But my memory is poor and it was taking me 2-4 hours a day because I was so burnt and couldnt focus anymore. In the end I got trough them all but I stopped doing reviews pretty soon after so I really shot myself in the foot with that and ended up not doing much Japanese learning for like 2-3 months. I'm back at it now though.
@@maiadraconica6488 Ah well that sucks ... But I am glad you got back into it :D がんばる!

Why do you keep saying kanjis? The name of the book is literally Remembering the KANJI. The first introductory page provides examples of the word kanji being used as a plural.
Finally some reviews, almost made me unsubscribe from your channel.
Kitsune Janx takes me a bit to work through a book! Thanks for your patience ❤️
