Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. I contact each person who send me their videos to talk with them and learn more about their story and to follow up what happened after what we see on their video. Voice over and captions are added to describe what happened, and why. I believe that this additional information regarding the incident gives the videos a newsworthy value.
From the footage and additional information, a viewer can learn the consequences of bad driving and can educate his/her self with better driving safety. This process also gives the videos a great educational value. It is my desire to add my own unique and creative value in a transformative way to ensure you enjoy and learn from the videos being presented.

9 months to save up for a Performance Model 3? As a 20 year old College Student?!
I spent 2 years saving up just for a down-payment on an SR+ as a full-time worker with a decent job and no debt, and even then I'm still gonna have to save up some more thanks to rising prices!

So let me get this straight; to save up to a Performance model in 9 months, you'd have to make at least $6k a month assuming you didn't get the full $7.5k rebate from California. Genuinely curious; what the hell do you do that makes $6,443 a month especially as a college student? And even then, if you make THAT much, why the hell are you even going to college? You're essentially making around $72k a year before tax!

I actually loved his curiosity. Pity his coworkers had to display such a dreadful act of discrimination in response. Very stupid of employees to not take action against the perpetrator of said discrimination.
That first one is exactly why I'm always extra cautious when my light hasn't been green very long. I also slow down before crossing blind intersections, particularly highway/freeway offramps. I've had way too many close calls with people running yellow and red lights there. I've been guilty of it myself too, but not anymore, unless I'm being followed too closely to feel safe enough to stop in time....
Green here means wait, look both ways (even at a one way street) and let the obligatory minibus taxi cross, because for him it was just "fresh red", and stopping at lights, and road rules in general, are a mere suggestion, and not anything he should actually worry about.
i’ll admit i probably should’ve looked both ways but i was on the way to a supercharger and i rlly had to pee so i was in a bit of a rush lol. definitely am more careful now and i do look both ways at every intersection now!

@@SeanBZA everyone everywhere should do that. If you get t-boned pulling out from a light that just turned green it is partially your fault. You should always verify cars are going to stop before pulling out when the light changes.

Unless you're me and you've got some damage to the front from a speed bump and some stones on a rural road. Then you just go on green, see them coming, pretend not to see them coming, tap the RLJ driver in the side with your front bumper and try to supress a grin as they pay for a new front bumper.

He 'bought' it on financial lease probably. Tesla has extremely agressive lease pricing where you can basically get such a 48K vehicle with no down payment at € 500 per month. (which is the mortgage price of a large house)
According to the calculation (where I live, Tesla must disclose financing costs) the total cost of leasing it, on top of the price, would then be € 41K, pretty much doubling the price of the car.

Clip #1 is why I always look both ways before going through an intersection when the lights just changed to green. Idiots love pushing the limits of those "Light just turned red but I can still make it" moments.

Well I'm in a similar spot, been investing since high school and have recently made some nice gains with crypto. Have managed to get my portfolio to be in the lower 6 figures and recently graduated college. Granted I would not spend $70k on a car until I have at least half a mil saved up. Could be that he just gets money from parents or is great at investing / has a side hustle that's producing income. Lot of people nowadays making side income by streaming, tik tok, CZcams and all that stuff.
9 months, but he could have just saved enough for the minimum down payment. Which is $6k. He could have easily saved 10k. Only need to make about $1.2k a month to be able to make payments and insurance. Smart financial choice? No. But is is possible? Yes. Especially if parents co-signed.

I can also vouch for the viofo. Best part of it is how well it optimizes the videos, so you can end up with like a month's worth of recordings or more and never run out of space. You can also hardwire it to you car or tuck the wires to the sides so it looks neat, but I personally just let the wires hang since im lazy.

Andy, learn to “clear” an intersection. It’s easy. You just pretend that ever green light is really red, and that your going through it with a police car (lights flashing). Look left and right for that person not paying attention.

Such beautiful cars, been a fan of that model since the 1st time I saw one.
First one is so sad......Andy literally saved money for 9 months to buy a model 3 performance.....but unfortunately another driver crashed into him.....that's the worst luck.....I wish Andy buys another model 3 performance.
Andy has also learnt a tough life lesson that traffic lights in a city aren’t drag strip lights. And being in the right doesn’t mean the pain, cost and inconvenience from a preventable accident magically goes away.

Not hating on the car but from a financial perspective, a student financing a car and ending up with such high monthly costs making it difficult to still save up money is not smart

A 20 year old saving up for a Tesla... Mom and Dad paid for 99 percent of it. I hate hearing of kids buying their own cars, never a reality
You learn the most when you drive a cheap car. That's like getting a BMW or a Mercedes for your first car... What are you going to learn? Finances aside, you don't even learn vehicle dynamics due to all the nanny systems kicking in. Puts the driver in a real disadvantage years later when a situation happens where you'd benefit from knowing how a vehicle handles without stability control being able to correct.
Took me 10y to get my first new car. Pretty much every "first time driver" i've known of with a new car has totalled it, or drove it over a curb causing huge damage.
I would NOT want to know what insurance costs for a young new driver to have such an expensive car...

I started buying and fixing up used cars when I was 14 ...
.. all my own money. In fact my parents hated it, told me I was going to lose money, they threw temper tantrums every time I got another car ... NEVER gave me any help. I paid my way through college fixing up used cars.

Head on collision at 25 mph. I thought I was okay. Turns out I dislocated/cracked my pelvis… foot on the brake, knee into bottom of dash, femur pushed into my pelvis. A year later I could no longer run, now I have constant pain and can’t do things like put my pants on standing up.

I was upgrading some Blink Chargers at the Nashville Vanderbilt Loews Hotel. There was a Model 3 in one of the spaces and I set off the sentry mode probably 2 dozen times. I "sharpied" the Wham Bam Tesla Cam monicre on one of the boxes I set next to the model 3, in view of the driver side rear camera. I so hope that the driver sends that video here!
