I haven't heard this song since 1986! My god, that's before most people were even born!! Guess I'm getting older now. I remember driving the back roads of Kentucky during a summer mission trip to go get fast food somewhere and listening to this on my cassette tape in my 1977 Mercury Bobcat. So many good songs on this album.

My friend got me to go to this video shoot at a Colorado Springs Highschool Amphitheater. I can't see us in the crowd but we're there dancing our butts off! The best part was when he was off stage looking at the video shoots and we got the band to play Wipeout for us! Good times!

This video scared the hell out of me when I first saw it as a little kid. For the next few years, I would do whatever I could to keep my dad from watching Christian video shows out of fear that I would see it again. Over 30 years later, I still find it kind of unsettling.

You really Summed up Steve Taylor with your Weird Al reference...But at least Weird Al Rocks and is Cool and Hardcore... compared to this Christian, What David KILLING GIANTS refers to as VANILLA SPICE Music...it's not As Good As Vanilla Ice...because Vanilla Ice is not Some Born AGAIN...what DAVID KILLING GIANTS Speaks of Born Again, VANILLA SPICE CHRISTIAN music...just remember it's VANILLA SPICE, not quite VANILLA ICE, because Vanilla Ice is not VANILLA SPICE CHRISTIAN MUSIC.....I can only imagine the SLAM PIT at a VANILLA SPICE AS IT GETS...with WACKY Steve Taylor and his FROLICKING Mouse HARDCORE NERD SLAM PIT....sorry I will choose even Satanic bands over STEVE TAYLOR...OMG...just imagine the slampit...but hey...I disagree with the Weird Al comparison....Weird Al playing Polka on Accordian is actually HARDCORE and Cool....compared to What David Killing GIANTS Speaks of, when he Places Before THEE ENTIRE WORLD...that all Born Again Christian music is Actually All Called VANILLA SPICE... because it's not as good as VANILLA ICE, because Vanilla Ice...isn't Born Again,, oh wow where's the Slampit...So very not hardcore VANILLA SPICE CHRISTIAN MUSIC...it's the worst.. but. WEIRD AL....THEE HARDCORE KING of ALL SONG PARODIES is HARDCORE and SUPER COOL and definitely not VANILLA SPICE like STEVE TAYLOR...but if WEIRD AL and David Andrew Luker from David Killing GIANTS were somehow in a TURKISH PRISON.... Thee Beltloop would belong to David Killing GIANTS and the hit song VEET IT....compared to WEIRD AL and EAT it...a song about mere snack foods compared to VEET IT by DAVID KILLING GIANTS...a song about MANSCAPING..thee Beltloop would be mine

Steve Taylor was a True Original Musical humorist taking aim at Christian & Cultural hypocrisy equally well.
Look at this Meltdown Album 1984 & later "I Predict 1990" & "Squint" - fabulous quality work that was not as widely known as should be.
Underappreciated as Steve & Some Band (as he called them) transcended easy categorization.
But gems in every sense of the Alt Rock scene.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

I used to keep lists of records I was going to buy around this time. I never got ‘round to buying this album. The band is over exaggerating their “act”. You don’t see Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet moving like that! If Steve Taylor would have showed the Beatles melting like that, it would have been a MAJOR lawsuit. By the way, I heard that Paul McCartney accepted the Lord, his sister in law, Linda’s sister prayed with him.
