Wise words. I can definitely tell when I eat like garbage my voice suffers. I try not to eat anything substantial before service as it is, banana and coffee is my go to. But I’m thinking salad Saturday nights might have to be a new rule for me. Gotta share this with my worship team.

I applaud the attention to detail for worship leaders. We are to love god with all we are which includes our bodies and brains. A line the artist must walk as a leader is to considering the needs of the congregation more important than our own. This may mean we sacrifice the creativity and energy that we can generate so that 50 or 5000 people can actually sing the songs the way we are leading them. I am disappointed with the trend toward wider vocal ranges in songs in worship. If we must train and exercise, and rehearse over and over to get something right, where does that leave the non-trained and non-rehearsed worshipper in the congregation. When I hear a worship leader strain to push their chest voice too high I understand that better technique would help them, but help them what: sing a song that 80% of the congregation can't sing?

Good point! I'm glad you brought this up. Because even when you use what you consider the easiest of songs, some refuse to sing or many are not able to sing them. The issue is that many have different capabilities with singing. There is not a one size fits all. Sometimes many can learn to sing a song better through repeating it over time. Worship leaders should keep things as simple as possible. Worship is about the heart and not perfection. Note that sometimes songs are requested by the pastoral staff to emphasize the theme of the sermon and those types of songs are not usually as well known or sung, but the song serves a great purpose. Thanks.

8:11 ...and that is why I hated singing lessons. 😀I have a hard time getting over that.

Everything in the description is about church front. Nothing about the vocal coach or her own ministry or coaching program 🤔 can we know more about this lady please?
